Owen Stephens Becomes a Genius

Super Genius Games

Hey everyone,

This seems like the place to mention it, if not, please move this post to where it belongs. :)

Owen K.C. Stephens will be the Pathfinder Development Manager for Super Genius. You guys will know Owen from his contributions to 3rd and 4th editions D&D, d20 Modern, The Black Company, EverQuest, Song of Ice and Fire, and Wheel of Time RPG's, as well as the Pathfinder Chronicles Campaign setting. Owen is also author of the Advanced Gamemaster’s Guide from Green Ronin, the Guide to Absalom released by Paizo, and was co-author of Star Wars Saga Edition from Wizards of the Coast.

We're super happy Owen has joined us and starting this week we'll be releasing weekly content he's been a part of.

Hyrum.

That's great news! I've enjoyed Owen's work a lot (for example, the above-mentioned 'Guide to Absalom') and I'm glad he's developing stuff for PF RPG!

You guys were fortunate to get him! :)

[derail] Darrin, I have to say that (as a sadistic Chelaxian GM) I'm very happy about the Graveknight -- it's the best version of Death Knight ever! Great work! :) [/derail]

Is there a factual announcement in the midst of this hyperbolic posting? Link?

Paizo Employee Managing Developer

Rock on, Mr. Stephens!

Guys, it's not real until I have a link that explains things...don't get me all worked up like this with Mr Absalom fever over nothing.

Okay, guys, I found it myself. Now, that I know it is a name and not hyperbole, what the heck is Super Genius Games?

@Mairkurion Your Link As Requested

Also, since Hyrum of Supergenius games posted this, I was pretty satisfied.

Lastly, I have a Cthulu adventure coming out with these folks, and I'd just like to say they rock. Great editor and publisher. Me likey!

Thanks, Louis. I have seen Hyrum around, but since I didn't know what Super Genius Games was, so I was simply confused by the post.

Seems like a good development, as Stephens has been making with the Absalom awesome. Now I'll scurry off and learn more of these folks.

EDIT: Hee-hee, I actually own one SGG product, and didn't know it. But I knew that I associated Hyrum with a recent purchase. Well, I think those guys have scooped a winner, that's for sure.

OT: What is the relation between OtherWorld Creations and Super Genius Games? The Shaman PFRPG seems to be listed one way online (the Paizo store) and another in the pdf itself.

Super Genius is an imprint of OWC. Nothing fancy. :)

We're doing licensed Call of Cthulhu products, Pathfinder books, and Strike Force 7 for Savage Worlds. You can learn more at our website: http://www.supergeniusgames.com

This is good news. Can't wait to see what he's been a part of.

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEE!

When does the first thing he's worked on for you come out?!

The goal is to get it up next Tuesday here, and then Wednesday on DriveThru.

And SQUEEEEEEEE's are always welcome. :)

Wow, that's quick. Don't want to give us any teasers, ay, Hyrum?

Scarab Sages

Hey folks, thanks for the kind words. I look forward to producing more things to enhance your Pathfinder games, and it's nice to know you're looking forward to them.

As a thanks, here's a Teaser for the first thing that should come out: It's short, and involves dragons.

Is it a short dragon?

Liberty's Edge

A halfling from Pern?

A gnome dragon disciple?

Liberty's Edge

A pseudodragon ? Yeah, pretty tame on my part. Could've been much more creative.

A draconian in swim trunks?

Liberty's Edge

Dragonlance fan-fic?

EDIT: Oh I know I know, its a rehash of the "The First to Strike" featuring Inquisitor Draco for a less sci-fi setting! On second thought, nah.

We're wandering from Pathfinder possibilities anyway, so back on track: A kobold sorcerer with a draconic bloodline?

Nope. I will say it's a new base class though....

Its a NINJA!!!! Right?!?!?!?

Ninja's are mostly short. Wait...is the monkey a hint? It's monkey ninja!

Liberty's Edge

Half dragon monkey midgets? I'd play that.

You're close!

it's a half dragon, midget monkey NINJA!

So, since it goes on sale tomorrow at the paizo store, and you've all had SO much fun guessing:

It's a dragonrider! A new base class. A warrior-type with minor arcane spellcasting who gets a dragon steed.

I'll work on the midget monkey ninjas...

The Exchange

Welcome to the boards, Owen. I'm looking forward to what you have available... after all, I loved your book on Absolom.

And please, foks, don't get this man started on the monkies... you have NO idea who your are dealing with! He will do it!

I guess my earlier post didn't make it. Anyway, the dragon rider is a desired addition!

It should be for sale shortly. I hope you enjoy it!

Heya Jacob!

Yeah, you gusy may want to listen to him. He's been in my home campaigns.

OR

You may want to ask him about giant statues of 6-armed women and what they use for ranged attacks. Then you can decide who to trust...

Super Genius Games

We've uploaded the file to the Paizo servers and we're just waiting for it to get posted. Once it does I'll have a post about it. In the meantime, here's the sell text:

Quote:

Super Genius Games is proud to announce a new line of products for use with the Pathfinder RPG. The Genius Guide series of products are short electronic books that feature new templates, classes, spells, prestige classes and/or magic items. For use by players and GMs, each Genius Guide is low-priced and ready to be dropped into your game.

This release introduces the Dragonrider, a new core class designed for use with the PFRPG. It is a combat-oriented class with minor arcane spellcasting ability, built around having a mystic bond with a true dragon that serves as a steed.

Dragonriders are heroic figures with the power to bond with dragons, gaining lifelong steeds, companions and allies. This bond is more than simply a close friendship, it is a mystic connection between dragonrider and dragon, creating a permanent link fueled by the arcane power inherent to all true dragons.
