I felt the same, I was very Disappointed..

I did enjoy the ending, but the rest was hard to watch since I felt I already seen it.

Dark Archive

Yesterday Monte Cook described it as Battlestar Galactica: Nope, we've been lying to you all along, there is no plan.

Battlestar Galactica - The Plan (to take more money fron the fan base.)

The 'Tale of Two Cavils' angle, where the Cavil on Galactica and the one on Caprica develop in different ways through their exposure to the humans, is well-handled. It was good seeing more of Simon, who was little more than the token black Cylon on the show, as he got some decent character development here. A few minor plot threads were rounded up (what happened to Shelley Godfrey, who Six was talking to on Caprica) but overall, I agree the TV movie wasn't entirely necessary. Some nice ideas, a great performance by Dean Stockwell, but overall a little bit redundant. Also setting up Giana as an important character, it felt weird that she just vanishes at the end. What happened to her and her daughter? Killed on New Caprica or what?

This TV movie does cement for me the fact that the Final Five storyline never really worked, was conceived for all the wrong reasons (Moore just wanted to put All Along the Watchtower in a TV show and having been denied on STTNG and ROSWELL, found a way of doing it here) and leads to unpleasent and unconvincing retcons.

Ha. Your spoiler is exactly what I felt after watching this POS film. I was hoping for something dealing with the development of the plan. Putting 6 into place with Baltar. Where the others were during the last few years prior to the series premiere. This thing had no real plot of it's own. Just a cobbling together of scenes taken from the series and a couple of new characters to make it seem somewhat 'original'.

Boo!
