Sovereign Court RPG Superstar 2009 Top 32

Hey there. I'm just about wrapping up Edge of Anarchy for my Curse of the Chrimson Throne group (you can sneak a peak at The IC thread.) Since there have been a couple of losses along the way, I would like to re-recruit more players.

I am aiming for about 8 players to start with. First places will be awarded for my current players, but beyond that it is open season - I'll keep a look on this thread and create a new OOC thread as soon as additional players are accepted. :)

I would like to switch to Pathfinder RPG final rules at this point. Starting level for new players is 4 (just like the rest of the group), and I will have to think about equipment and the like for a while longer.

The Exchange

Just following your instructions here TN. I'm still in if you'll have me :).

I'll be taking Gern across if he manages to survive this last bit.

Dwarven fighter, no prestige planned, no multiclassing planned. Simple and violent, that's my dwarf for you.

Cheers

Hi,

I would like to jump in. I've had a look at the IC thread and would like to play a city based ranger. The character could be a former member of the Korvosan Guard that left the guard because of the farce that the Trinia trial was.

I will come back with a full character and a more detailed background tomorrow.

Llaelian

Liberty's Edge

Hey i'd love to jump in here if you'd have me.

As far as character concepts i've been toying with the idea of a Zorro/highwayman type character.

Hi, I'd like to play!

I'd be willing to play a paladin of Saranrae, a scimitar wielding Keleshite man, or of Shelyn a serious but flawed girl who seeks to find and protect worthy things, or a druid, a Shoanti or Osiriani druid, with the Fire Domain. Leaning towards Garundi and having preference for a jackal form.

Dammit, yeah. A druid from the southern desert, he seeks challenges in the north, his is a strange bestial way, and he wants to become natures great survivor.

So he's prone to adventure, and less concerned with the goal than the journey, though not interested in cruelty nor evil either. He has a great sand furred jackal that is his companion, I'm using wolf stats, and that is his wild shape form of choice.

This is the character I'd like to play.

-VagrantPoet

[I took his health as average, and started with a 20 pt point buy for stats, and of course didn't have gear or wealth, bar a basic minimum.]

Sovereign Court RPG Superstar 2009 Top 32

I was thinking about using 20 Point Buy, yes.

Since this is the second part of the story, I will make it a requisite that your characters are in Korvosa, and have some stake in the city's welfare. Locals would be ideal, but are not strictly necessary.

Read my backstory, it should have both. If not I can exagerrate those features.

As promised, here is the character I would like to play. Most of it is in the profile but the main point is the background, I guess.

Can you tell me if it is suitable ?

Elian Vorkan, ranger 4

Like his father, his grand-father and many before them, Elian Vorkan joined the Korvosan Guard as soon as he could and reached the rank of sergeant at the age of 23. but unlike his ancestors, he had not planned to stay in the guard forever and his dream was to join the Sable Company. For that, he had trained relentlessly as an archer and had patrolled the Shingles to learn the city ways from above.
When not on duty, he was leaving in the Midland with his mother Agatha and his younger sister Leane. His elder sister, Siam, was married to a baker nearby while his father had been killed in service when running down a smuggler gang in the Old Korvosa.

When Leane was abducted while playing with two of her friends in the street about four months ago, he used up all his influence to get the guard to find her but was only able to get a name : Gaedren Lamm. Despite his pleas, he was told that this investigation was taking too much of his time and that he had other priorities. Disgruntled by the lack of help from his fellow guardsmen, he used all his spare time to track the child and had just found his lair when Leane was returned to him due to the PC party. unfortunately, Leane did not catch the Pc names and was only able to give a brief description of them.

The following days, while the town was raging after the Kings death, he managed to get the PC names and has planned to go and thank them as soon as the situation will be back to normal.

Elian was also on duty when the PCs managed to free Trinia and recognized them from his sister's description. While he does not know for sure if she is innocent or not, he still cannot condemn the parody of justice that this execution is and will do his utmost to help the PC as he feels indebted to them. His next plans are to resign from his position and to go and seek them to offer his help.

Zalen here, is a Rogue who's just now discovering his sorcerous heritage. He'll likely continue to level in both for a bit, not sure yet what, if any, prestige class he'll end up with.

He's also the party 'face' and usually leader (although he relies heavily on the wise Gern's advice).

As well the young human is struggling to be a big brother/father figure to a group of orphans he's adopted. While he's done an ok job so far, sometimes he feels he's hanging on by his fingernails. And the oldest girl, Ayen, is beginning to seriously give him the creeps...there's something...odd... about that one. But all in all, being an orphan himself and never having had any siblings, he's thrilled to have them in his life and will do all in his power to raise them right and keep them safe.

And, ah Terra, did you say we're at 4th level??! :O
Or did you just mean we Wll be? ;-)

and hey Wrath, just noticed that Gern's still listed at 2nd! : O )

Oh, and hey Terra, I just remembered, but Zalen hasn't forgotten about Majenko! ;-)

Here is Alandra, a young Shoanti cleric of Phrasma, who is overly fond of obscuring mist, cause fear, command and other annoying spells.

She is young but hard, having lived a tough life on the streets of Korvosa before she was taken in by the Temple of Pharasma. She is fascinated by death and killing and walks a fine line between good and evil, although she hopes she is a good person at heart.

She maintains a personal list of people she wants to see dead, and so far three of them have died, one by her own hand.

Yep, everyone will start off as 4th level. :)

Cool, well if TN will have me, I want to play a Garundi druid, he's a harsh animalistic man, true nuetral and prone to spouting animal adages.

He came to Korvosa because he beleives a darkness awaits him here and he has decided to set himself against it, not neccesarily for the good of the people, but so that he can survive it and become ever more powerful.

He's designed to be combat aspected, though he does of course still have full spellcasting, his love is melee while wildshaped.

He typical calls all Avistani northborn, regardless of race or nationality.

Elian and Zerlix look good so far. :) I'll have to perform a bit of a rough pull-together, but that should be possible.

Mememto Mori, a Highwaymen / Zorro is absolutely possible.

I've decided to go with standard wealth for the newcomers, and standard wealth + 2000 (or anything you already have beyond that) for my returning players. Both as cuts from Eel's End, and clandestine support from the Field Marshall

Cool, I'll update the character with equipment, description for your review.

Great =]

I'll be away from an internet connection tonight, but i should be able to post a rough background by tommorow afternoon, if that's alright.

That's it! Gear, wild shape stats and all!

If it's not too late, I'd like to join this. This dwarf bard was for another game that never got off the ground but I can retool him for this game. He would be a scholar from Janderhoff perhaps acting as a scribe/linguist for an important dwarven merchant or just in town to research at the various arcane schools and learn more about the varisian, chelish and shoanti cultures.

Sovereign Court RPG Superstar 2009 Top 32

Sure, the more the merrier.

I am in a bit of a time crunch right now, so I'll go into more detail either tonight or tomorrow.

Sovereign Court RPG Superstar 2009 Top 32

Crunch still ongoing, but I'll do this tomorrow. :)

Liberty's Edge

Since This is after edge of anarchy, I assume it won't be necessary to take one of the background traits from the players guide, correct?

We get a trait?

vagrant-poet wrote:

Oh hey i suppose i should've asked that too =P

EDIT: Here's Matius Drake, Straight fighter, looking to go into the Duelist Prestige Class, his profile still has a bit of work to be done, but i figured i'd show you what was done so far.

Sovereign Court RPG Superstar 2009 Top 32

The bonus feats / traits were a bit of an incentive for the first story, so I've decided to not give you a bonus feat, but allow you to purchase it as one of your normal feat choices.

The first game is still winding down, but you should maybe head over to the OOC thread and discuss on how to integrate with the existing group. I'd planned for about three weeks of downtime between the stories.

Hey, if there is still room i would like to join. Right now i'm thinking a monk. Let me know if there is room, and i'll work up a character.

I think I'm pretty much done with my character. Feel free to review the stats and correct/comment.

Sovereign Court RPG Superstar 2009 Top 32

There is one more spot, so welcome aboard. :)

Grunhild looks good. I've not checked your math, and will not. :) I think my players are adults, and any mistakes they make are´^honest such. If i come across one, I'll notify you. I expect the same from you.

Liberty's Edge RPG Superstar 2011 Top 32

Do you have room for one more?

The Exchange RPG Superstar 2010 Top 16

Pardon the interruption.

Llaelian, would you please contact me at c (dot) mortika (a in a circle) gmail (another dot) com ?

thank you.

If there is room, I would brink my big green friend along.

Krek is currently a warrior-priest of Gorum. Though his faith has not been shifted in the slightest, is experience with a few of the people from Edge of Anarchy has opened his views to alternate styles of combat; he now realizes bigger isn't always better .... though he still likes to be big.

Mechanically, this means while he prefers combat with a sword now, he will probably begin to delve into spells as the story progresses. Story-wise, he will become more curious and inquisitive to see if there are more situations beyond his prejudices which would otherwise escape him.

With the escape of the city, he is very excited, and no strings bind him. It's just how he would have it!
