Double-smite!

Liberty's Edge

So, um, now that the troll refuge thread is being trolled (by Charlie Sheen, no less!), I'm gonna rest my case and walk straight out of the courtroom.

Liberty's Edge

Then I'm gonna walk straight back in because I'm stayin' up AL NIGT.

Liberty's Edge

probaaply

Good. Let’s talk about something exciting. Me. Pure and complete gnarly-isms. I’m an F-18 bro. I’ve spent close to the last decade effortlessly and magically converting your tin cans into pure gold. I’ve got magic. I’ve got poetry at my fingertips.

I’m rolling out magic, bro. I exposed people to magic. I have one speed. I have one gear. Go.

Imagine what I would have done with my fire-breathing fists.

Liberty's Edge

brain . . . melting . . .

I wonder how the weather is in Montana.

Liberty's Edge

cold

My family went through Montana once in the spring, and heading east we met a nasty snowstorm (pretty blinding). Then a couple weeks later, on our homeward journey, it was all sunshine and shit.

But probably cold.

I get to go live in a little place called Darby. It's got less than 800 people.

Liberty's Edge

Darby . . . Darby . . .

???

Liberty's Edge

Never heard of it, obviously. But cool! Sounds like they'll be tight-knit.

Darby, Montana

This is where I'll be.

Liberty's Edge

Nice!

Yea. Gonna be like college, but free. Plus they help you find a home and job afterwards.

Liberty's Edge

Wow.

Liberty's Edge

Yesterday, I learned the following information about the city of Darby, Montana.

710 people as of the 2000 census
Film location for Disorganised Crime
2004 evolution in schools debacle

Yeah... FIFY did it.

For some reason I smiled when I saw this.

Liberty's Edge

Maybe because this thread recently cleared 710 posts itself?

Currantly chillin' to illin' beats by the prestigious Randy "Q." Newman and readin' chemostrity. Gotta finish all my reading today. (All of it. All of the reading.)

I have nothing that needs doing right now.

Star Trek and Monty Python. So much win.

Heroic fantasy meets space opera. HOW DO I MAKE THIS HAPPEN?

Doodlebug Anklebiter wrote:

Well, in addition to the obvious awesomeness of goblins, this thread is a tribute to Gark getting kicked out of Fawtl. Something to do with Dick Cheney, if I recall.

I couldn't let that happen to the Paizonian who favorites over three-fourths of posts, so I made the Refugee thread my home away from home.

Welcome, Wikid Smart Bozz Gob. Would you like some honey mead?

Mead? :)

So today the skypeople decided to talk about gun control (some kid was like, "Yo, why ma da gotta put gun so hi?"). I made my share of "this is your brain . . . on guns" puns and stated a few facts. Then I absconded the hell out of there because I am NOT rehashing that shit. Also because I can pull so much shit on the subject out of my ass.*

Does that count as restraint?

*best mixed idiom you ever did see

fitfy

I stay out of the gun control debate. It's pointless. I won't convince you that Britain went too far, and you won't convince me that America needs to go farther. No point pissing each other off over it. I'd rather chat about fun things, instead. Like ships. Are you interested in ships, Gark?

I like ships...with guns.

So do I! What's your favorite kind? I like Men O' War. Nothing beats a good old Nelsonian broadside.

Liberty's Edge

One good reason to stay out of gun control discussions is that the facts are so very, very nebulous - everyone has their own figures. (Who the f&%@ knows what's going on??? Maybe the rest of the univarse doesn't exist when you're not observing it! Maybe you're imagining it all! Maybe there's uncertainty! Like electrons!*)

Anyway, I do love a good ship. (I only mention my ashen ships, though. The other ones are way too popular!)

*protip tip for pros: I have no idea where I'm going with this. Not trolling! Probably!

I like ships...with laser guns.

I like my laser guns with anachronisms.

I enjoy shipping, too, Gark. Warships, however, are a passion. If it weren't for the social problems that got me discharged I'd be serving in the US Navy right now.

Enough about opinions on gun control. Do you have any interest in the study of firearms? I like older ones, especially muskets and rifle-muskets.

Doodlebug Anklebiter wrote:

I prefer railguns and plasma in my SciFi.

Liberty's Edge

Railguns are f+!@ing awesome. You have to go into a secret passage to get them before level five, though. [/obscure vidgame]

Anyway, what about Spelljammer?

ships
in space
(not space opera though?)

Spelljammer was before my time. Never had experience with it.

Liberty's Edge

It was before my time too, and I never had experience with it, but it's still a thing that is real, and I read some of the old Dragon stories set in a Spelljammer setting.

I think the races are hilarious.

Giant space hamsters? O_o

Liberty's Edge

I just spent the entire day* outside of class (pretty much) working on a post and reading a thread. That noise is crazy sustainable.**

In the same thread, I've made quite a few favourites. The untrained observer may think this was because they agreed with my viewpoint. Please to be aware that I only did that 25% of the time. This information is like a special powerup that you only get by going on a certain quest in Dawn of Warcraft game. Or an easter egg. Either way, it's exclusive to this thread.

Now I will give you some shitty ascii art and ads for my website.

Oops! Time to get to the reading I should have been doing when I was checking facts on Wikipedia!

*see: ADD and perfectionism or whatever

In addition to the more common Medium-sized Hippopotanoid.

Hmmm. UNH Manchester is offering an accelerated course (looks like it's only 2 days!) on the Haitian Revolution. Hmmm. I can think of nothing better to waste UPS's money on then a firm academic grounding on Toussaint L'ouverture and the Black Jacobins!

Liberty's Edge

Awesome. The Haitian Revolution was actually covered by my old high school history class. Very, very briefly. But yeah, the Haitian Revolution was awesome.

. . . Y'know, I almost regret taking all those AP social sciences courses, because now I won't be taking college courses in the same area. Oh well. My high school teacher was the shiznit.

You know what I want in my fantasy? Guns. Guns that don't misfire. You know what else I want? Cutlasses, rapiers, and sabers. You know what I don't want? Armor.

The awesome part is that I figured out how to do it.

Liberty's Edge

Did you ever get Unearthed Arcana, KM (can I call you KM?)? You seem to like alternate rules, and it has some interesting ideas. (Squashbuckling armour.)

I do own a copy of Unearthed Arcana, Gark. I practically consider it a core rulebook.

Look what I made! I posted it here on Paizo, too, but the Giantitp post looks much better.

ALL HAIL TO JEREMY CLARKSON!

Gark the Goblin wrote:

Speaking of successful slave revolts, my roommates have been gorging themselves on DVDs of Spartacus: Blood and Sand and Rome. Seen some random episodes of each and, they're awesome!

S:BS tends to be a little bit more over the top, but they're both full of hot sex, bloody action and Byzantine intrigue!

As for AP courses, well, I hear you, but if you had a good teacher, then you probably got just as much as you would from an introductory college seminar. The stuff at the higher levels is where it's at, usually because it's what the professor's actually interested in.
