Sorry, kind of forgot I was up.

Ferdinand stabs his tratnyr at the automaton as runes begin to form on Mountain's armor.

Using Resistive Formula on Mountain (+1 AC, ally can end this as minor action to get HS+6 Temp HP for itself and an ally within 5 squares), and using Repulsion Strike on S1 (-3 to attack rolls until end of my next turn if I hit) 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (6) + 16 = 222d8 + 8 ⇒ (4, 2) + 8 = 14

Also, Arcana, what can I tell about the slicers? 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (8) + 14 = 22


Your Resitive Formula won't stack with Malick's Bastion of Defence so Mountain would still only receive a +1 to AC. Mountain could still use it to get HS+6 Temp HP.

Ferdinand's strike is deflected by the swirling blades of the construct.

Rennik still has a bone to pick with archer 2...

Rennik assails and enfeebles the mind of the warforged archer and manages to remain invisible the whole time.

Vanishing Act on archer 2. 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (3) + 17 = 20 vs Will. 3d6 + 9 ⇒ (5, 2, 3) + 9 = 19 psychic damage on a hit, and I become invisible. It also grants combat advantage to the next ally that attacks it before the end of my next turn.

I find this interesting... My Magic of the Mists feat means that I don't become visible upon using an arcane power, but it would end at the end of my turn, but Vanishing act makes me invisible until the start of my next turn, so technically I never became visible on this turn. Maybe that's only interesting to me...


I think it was intended that way, otherwise in combat you would look like a wack-a-mole.

Rennik's mental assualt has no apperant effect on the archer.

That's right, it doesn't. It does extra damage when it hits an enemy who has previously not been hit instead. Malick has a challenge seeking halberd, which was a very dumb choice for him. Not that Malick rolls crits particularly often, but he hits things before anyone else even less. I don't know what I was thinking of.

Question to players; what should I do about players who post very intermittently? Am I being unreasonable to expect a posting at least every other day from my players? Also is there something I can do to increase your interest in the game?

Ultimately it's up to you how you want to run your game and pacing does vary from time to time due to real life. For my own games, I tend to post if someone doesn't show up within the day regardless - that way the game keeps moving along for those that are posting regularly. It's not the ideal solution, but it is a solution.

If you have any means of contacting players off board, and it's a regular problem, I'd get in touch with them and ask if they need a break or need you to DMPC them for a time. Post via Discussion and Game threads as well. Give them a reasonable limit to respond. If they don't, decide how long you are prepared to run the characters and then find a way to sideline them.

As far as this game goes, I'm really enjoying it. There's some wild mystery going on and Malick really wants to get to the bottom of it. Partly because if Ruing's been fooling him all these years he's not sure if he's going to kiss her for being clever or kill her for trying to kill him. Maybe both.

Things certainly do come up from time to time, and needing to post for a player to move things along will be inevitable. If a player is consistently not available to post, then it may be worth talking to that player.

I'm certainly enjoying this PBP, and I'm just really starting to wrap my ahead around how Rennik's quirky little brain works.

Don't you just love it when the damage is worth more than that attack?


Typhus curses the slices but the eldritch blast is deflected by the spinning blades.
The slicers flashing blades also deflect Malick's halberd. Malick’s brief pick me up speech puts a little more vim in Flint’s step.

Forgot to mention that Flint bloodied the slicer which activates its special attack.

Phantasmal Assailant on the cultist. 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (17) + 15 = 32 vs Will. 2d10 + 9 ⇒ (3, 2) + 9 = 14 psychic damage on a hit. Effect (on a hit or a miss): The target takes ongoing 5 psychic damage and grants combat advantage to all your allies (save ends both).
