Max Spells on Single Target

Rules Questions

I'm reading my PF book and haven't run into a rule that I remember from earlier versions of the product and didn't know if it was cut, or I just haven't found it yet, so I came here to find out. Looking for the rule about the maximum amount of buff spells that can be running on a single target at one time. Thanks for any assistance.

I might be wrong, but i don't think there is any limitation.
This being said, keep in mind that bonuses of the same type are not cumulative.

Well, since Pathfinder RPG uses the stacking rules (defined on P13), I'd say that THIS is the limit of 'buffs'. (I don't recall seeing such a 'maximum buff' rule before...)

In other words, you can buff as much as you want, but only the 'highest' buff will have an effect... (only a handful of types can be stacked, as defined here)

Yeah there was an optional rule floating about in the beta playtest but it's really not very helpful to limit things arbitrarily. If you're the DM and you don't want your PC's buffing to the hilt don't give them the time...

Adventure design can easily include a Pace that pushes PC's or having dynamic site based encounters can keep them on their toes. Also as you see the trend of your PC's buffing habits include tat in the design. Either make your monsters AC or to HIt numbers reflect the PC's buffed abilities or use magic and conditions to De-buff the party. A few well placed Dispel Magics never hurts.

Thanks for the replies, I was sure there was something, guess it was optional and didn't make it into the final version. It was something that we found interesting, and certainly seems better as an optional rule than a standard rule. Something for the APG to print maybe, and reasons behind it.
