The time frame of CoT?

Council of Thieves

I am sorry if this has been asked already but my searching-fu is weak. Is there a suggested time (as in calendar date) that the Council of Thieves should start around? Perhaps what year it happens? I can't find anything that explicitly states in the Player's Guide or the Bastards of Erebus.

Thanks in advance.

Yes! I must know!!

Runelords said it started at the Swallowtail festival - Second Darkness had the date in the "contract" the PCs "had" to sign.

I've done searches in the PDFs of 4709 (the current year - I think) and the different months, but nothing.

I'm tempted to just make it up - but then later it being cold may be important (as it was for Carnival of Tears module), when I've already stated it was dead of summer.

I think I am just going to set it a few years after RotRL (4707 AR) so those character could be mentioned perhaps in some bard's song. I didn't run Curse of the Crimson, Second Darkness, or Legacy so have nothing to mention there.

Is there a current date perhaps in the Pathfinder Society Modules?

The year for the AP is (according to Majuba) 47--, with the last two digits being the year that the campaign was released.

ie 2009 = 09 = 4709

That's what he says atleast.

Well guess that fits into the couple years after 4707 I was thinking. Thanks for the info.

Paizo *typically* has the unofficial starting date be the date that the AP began. This one started August of 09, so a good starting point would be the 8th month (I forget which that is in Golarion) in 4709.

That said... we generally take pains NOT to officially date our Adventure Paths. It's a strength that you can play them in any order, and one thing we ABSOLUTELY don't want to do is foster the idea that you have to buy them in order.

By not nailing down exact start dates, we encourage GMs to run them whenever and however they want.
