I've noticed that lately, no matter how serious or meaty a given discussion, no matter how focused or well posited originally, nearly every thread lately goes off the rails.

Not a little off the rails, not off the rails for a few posts, but spectacularly off the rails, to the point to where you can go pages and pages before you figure out what the topic is.

In the grand scheme of things, its probably not a big deal, but it is a little annoying, and daunting to new posters that really are trying to get a feel for forums and want to contribute to the community.

I guess what I'm really trying to say is that I like Thin Mint Blizzards and I think that any paladin that doesn't must be Chaotic in alignment.

I disagree with this, Since Paladins can't be Chaotic in the rules I use, the decision by them not to like Thin Mint Blizzards can not correlate with them being Chaotic. They are just Dumb.

Maybe we need to be more disciplined in the use of "OT - Spoiler:"

It seems considerate, and allows those of us with witticisms or tangential gripes to release, but not spew.

OT -

Spoiler:
Your beard's nice.

Liberty's Edge

Woah. They're making another Road Warrior movie. I hope it doesn't suck.

Liberty's Edge

On the flipside, I was talking to somebody today. I told them "nice weather" to strike up a conversation.
THEN, they had the gall to ask what do I think the Cowboys are gonna do this year. Just.....totally. Out. Of. The. Blue.
I said, "unless they're gonna be meteoroligists, whatever it is doesn't have anything to do with my O.S. (that's meat space for "original subject.")

Man, this is what I'm talking about . . . here we are talking about what kind of ice cream paladins like and how awesome my beard is, and you go talking about Road Warrior.

I hope you're happy with yourself.

Your understand what you are saying, but I don't think you go far enough...

Spoiler:

They both have beards.

Just how long have you lived here, again? Because this is 1. Never out of the blue, 2. Related to every subject.

What beard products do you use, KEJR? Because the humidity is playing some real havoc with Heathy's fur. It's going from Cowboy Silver to more of a drab gray...

I understand what I'm saying, cuz I'm not spewing thin mints (posting with my mouth full.) The question is, do you understand what I'm saying?

Not far enough, eh? Should we be more liberal with the STFUs? (AKA, The Heathy Anti-Cowboys Solution)

Spoiler:
Dragnmoon's got more of a chaotic, hippie beard. And if I don't detect bits of thin mints stuck in it, then I don't understand what I'm saying!

This dude asked me right when we got T.O. what I thought.

I said, "who?"
He looked at me like I was an alien.
Then I said, "they......hired Terrell Owens from the Eagles? Why did they do that? Oh yeah,.....Jerry Jones is a moron. Oh. He's doing something moronic? Fancy that."
I haven't given a s#%& about the Cowboys since he fired Jimmy Johnson.

THIS............IS.......................SPARTA! or more apropriately the off-topic board. it is the very nature of the beast to go off topic.

I can't believe you would cite the heading of the forum to try and prove your point. Its no wonder we can't get a playable Tarrasque in PFRPG rules with all the forum lawyering going on.

Next thing you know, people will start in with the Tagalong Blizzards, as if they have something to do with all of this.

I haven't given a s*!& about the Cowboys since he fired Jimmy Johnson.

This is why I've always been a Steelers fan.

It's all this eating of coffee, rather than drinking it, that causes people and lycanthropes to forget that Jimmy Johnson retired, while remember than Jerry Jones is a moron. Who knows what the hell makes people Steelers fans. Damn, it's hot. Maybe I'll drive out to White Rock with the stepson...

You know, my daughters find it amusing that when they do this thing called becoming teenagers, I tend to get more and more grey hair in my beard. Then my wife says that I should dye it or something, so I'm thinking of splitting the difference and shaving it off.

On the other hand, the other day I saw a guy with, like, jet black hair on top of his head and a stark white beard. Weird . . .

Everyone knows that it is the lack of Samoa Blizzards that is to blame. No wonder 4E is WoW rip off. I'm sorry, were you saying something?

If that's the litmus test, just call me Vladimir Illyich Lenin. I can't stand the game.

It's the OCD/ADD combo. I never know which one is going to latch on to (or not latch on to) something.

I think we were talking about how completely badass I am.

Does anybody here like mint-vanilla ice cream ?

I know who wears the pants in the White House, and it isn't me! That's OK, Barack has promised me my own Back-to-School Special, and I get to co-star with Gary Cooper! He's one of my heroes.

The forums would be incredibly boring if they always stayed on topic.

Liberty's Edge

Okay. Let's stay on topic, then.

Don't forget you have to be civil and only say nice things. And your post has to add something to the thread or STFU.

"OR" - Such a troublesome word...

On an only mildly related note, try mixing crushed graham crackers and caramel syrup with your vanilla ice cream. It's quite good.

Unless, of course, you're lactose intolerant.

Cheese, anyone?

Umm... Then what exactly do you have on behind that podium?

George?!

If you have a local store that carries those large tea biscuits or tea cakes (over-sized cookies without a lot of sugar in them, hard outside but adsorbent), put them in the oven and reheat them. Top them with vanilla ice cream and serve with hot, dark coffee. For some reason, you can get them everywhere in Oak Cliff, but I'm not seeing them in North Dallas. (And hot tea is not exactly the drink of choice for the OC. Can't explain it.)
