Oh, wait...
Are you saying Mairkurion likes to make hyperbolic statements?

You should see some of his thread titles! Talk about hyperbolic! And that's no exaggeration!

Now, I was very specific about where hyperbole didn't belong. I never create hyperbolic thread titles in playtest forums.

I might have been stretching the truth a little...

Another internal interview today, although this time it's for something I actually have a shot of getting. It's in about 30 minutes.

Good luck!

EDIT: I tried posting this many minutes ago, but the tab shows it didn't go through. Hopefully the thought counted. (Is it just me, or is the Paizo site really slow this afternoon?

Y'all have fun. I've got a 3-hour meeting, and I'll be back later.

Not bad enough...you're still here.

I shouldn't have been so lazy and instead looked up an actual Arneson monster that starts with "A".

They used to sneak into my room and watch me while I slept. And then I found the camera in my closet with feathers all around it....

Power finally came back on early this morning. Cable came back about noon, just as I was leaving for class, of course. Finally caught up on this thread, and now have to go pick up the kid from school. Sigh. Is this week over yet?

Is that how you became what you are?

It was a brief interview (but then I had a bunch of other issues waiting at my desk when I got back, which is why I haven't been posting). There are going to be second interviews, so I think that's why she didn't go into too much depth. It sounds like a lot of people posted for it, which surprises me. I still think I have a pretty good shot at it, though.

Taig, I do benefits administration for small business. In other words, Mom & Pop Cafe wants to be able to offer a 401(k), Flexible Spending Account, and pretax insurance benefits to their employees, but doing so from scratch would be way more overhead than they can afford, so they contract with my company to provide that for them. My company does other things, too, but that's my part of it. Of course, I avoid naming the company because then I have to worry about all sorts of "representing the company on the internet" issues, violations of policy, etc.

Yikes! Let me finish my record-keeping and turn it in, you two!

Silver Crusade

And yes, I had a few interviews with my "nemesis" a while back. She runs a team I really want to work on, but she has a habit of tearing people apart in interviews, and telling them how everything they said was wrong. This one was not with her, though.

Scarab Sages

Good luck with your interview CH!

Okay, I have to share this story. I had written an adventure for a gameathin that my FLGS was running as a fundraiser for the high school marching band. The characters traveled halfway across the world searhing for a book which the magi council had determined was capable of destroying the world with what was contained inside. To preven the BBEG from getting it, the PCs were to recover the book and bring it to the magi council for safe keeping. They have battled all manner of monsters, defeated the undead guardians in the tomb where the book was kept and were standing in front of the pedestal where it's stored when one of the PCs says "Hey, how bad could the book be, let's open it and find out what's inside." At that point wacky mayhem ensued because the party paladin grabbed the book before anyone could open it and ran out into the desert with it. The rogue ran after him, hoping to catch him. The sorcerer and the druid, who were both enamored with the rogue ran off after him; and the ranger and the cleric decided to stay behind and loot the tomb that they had found the book in. And well we never finished the adventure because by that point we were all laughing so hard that we could hardly breath.

GAEW has almost reached fifty members in just a few short hours. I didn't realize I was tapping into some sort of communal angst.

Hmm... perusing the list, I wonder if any of those members are people going "undercover"...

Tonight I am making chili because my wife has to work. I'm using a Morrison chili block, which I have never used before. I'm also adding molassas which I have never done before, but the sample of the chili I had at the grocery store yesterday was pretty good, so I hope it turns out.

Careful, or your moniker might shift from Fryer to Dryer.

Chili sounds good. Real good.

Evening folks! Me and my daughter Julia will be enjoying the fruits of a boxed mac and cheese. I lack my wife's culinary mastery, I pretty much played my trump card with a pork roast and roasted potatoes last night.

Chili with molasses... sounds good.

Ho hum.

I had a boring day at work that was made worse due to getting a less than adequate amount of sleep as a result of staying up to watch UK beat UConn last night.

*Yawn*

I've already eaten, done the dishes, and taken care of lunch for tomorrow.

Now what?

Note: Nothing on tv for tonight looks too inviting but I might put in Boondocks Saints.

I cook nice stuff... when I can be bothered to get off my arse and actually cook from scratch and not stuff out of a box.

I tend to not follow recipes. I just make it up as I go along. The only thing that has ever turned out average was the stuffed squid heads, but only because I had no idea how to cook the squid properly. It was nice, just not brilliant.

Beats canned chili anyday.

Pat, my wife cooked roast pork last night and I had it today. M-mmm!

Hmm. My 20 minute commute home took an hour and a half :/

And because of the inclement weather, we decided to cancel our dinner plans with friends. So instead of eating high-end Italian cuisine, I am making frozen chicken patties and Uncle Ben's rice.

I threw a pork chop and a sweet potato in the oven to bake. Tried my first batch of bread (Honey Whole Wheat) in my new bread machine, but the yeast musta been a little too old. Not too bad, just really dense.

A bit better today thankfully. He has only cried for some of the morning and he wanted to go and play outside on his tricycle, so that's a good sign (we were out there for almost an hour).

It seems the antibiotics have helped and it looks like his teeth might finally be settling down (touch wood). Hopefully by the weekend he'll be feeling better, especially as it's Caitlin's Ballet Concert tomorrow night and he'll have to sit through that (honestly... who hold a Ballet Concert on my Birthday anyway! :/).

I know right.

The real downside to this is that Caitlin will be at rehearsals all day, so I can't even spend the day with my family. I could have given up the night if I at least got to spend my Birthday with them, but no.

Mmmmmm.... chili. Me wants.

I'm probably talking to myself. I won't be able to cook food for the next five days as the woman has begun her phase of a liquid diet and low carbs. I expect her to be full-on cranky by Saturday evening when we travel down to Cincy as all the females in the extended family participate in an ornament swap exchange ... and she won't be able to fulfill her ice cream and chocolate cravings. I'm only being supportive to her needs because she'll be having gastic bypass next Tuesday. Having it so close to Christmas, we probably won't even travel and meet up with the family until New Years.

Spoiler:
I have to ask ... what is this pet shop I keep reading? Every time I'm reading the thread, it gets redacted when referenced.
