Heh, I'm right there with KaeYoss on this on.

I want stuff. Early!

You know, remarks like that have the opposite reaction than the one you claim to want to achieve.

You know, you may want to take a deep breath and meditate on how those words apply to your own statements.

You will get your book in the time it was promised.

I think KaeYoss has been rather civil, overall. I can understand his disappointment/frustration. To have had the book on order for over a year, and have to wait days/weeks longer than someone else to even see the book - I can understand the desire to have the PDF go ahead and release early so that he can get on the same page, even without a shiny copy of the hardback in his hands. It's not like he's demanding Paizo staff grab a copy of the book, fly to his house, and deliver it in person. He's just saying that it'd be nice to have the PDF released early, since people aren't going to be getting the books in a more or less simultaneous release as was originally expected and planned.

I'm actually kind of curious why the PDF isn't already ready, though. I know little about PDF publishing, but it seems to me that the PDF would already be put together since it shouldn't be that different from the proof that was sent off to the printer anyway. I'd love some clarification on that just for my edification, but I understand if Paizo's a little busy to address it.

There's some discussion here.

I'd like to ask everyone to, officially, CHILL OUT. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too many flags for a Sunday. Customer Service will be open tomorrow morning. Don't make me bust out the ban hammer and wade through these boards like Conan. If you have a concern, post it to the Customer Service boards or email Customer Service. These flame war threads about the arrival or lack thereof of the core rulebook, while understandable, are getting old. CHILL OUT.

I really do not understand what all the whining is about?

Be a man (or a woman as the case might be) and suck it up. You'll get the PDF when promised and the book will arrive soon.

Take a deep breath, hold it, and relax. It's okay... Now smile and have a good day.

I really hope he keeps that Ban Hammer under his robes thank you very much. I don't need THAT kind of a shock on a Sunday.

Yeah, I always relax best when I've been just insulted and made fun of.

I hate ALL of you...but myself most of all. I will not be getting my shipment because I am a computer order moron and messed the order up. I cancelled it today on my end, and will hit our FLGS Saturday (Friday's payday) to get my copy.

On the bright side, if there IS one, I'll be saving the shipping costs. Bad side, this is a good thing because my hubby just lost his job. I'm still employed, but we just had our income cut in half.

For those that need to see their book before they get it. I give you the PaizoCon Preview. There is also quite a bit of insight to be had here as Jason Bulmahn previews Pathfinder RPG in great detail!

That bites! We're in a similar situation, but I managed to land an out of state project for a few weeks starting next week. I hope your luck improves!

The Exchange

I think it's awesome that some people got their Core book early, even if I was to dumb to pre-order it myself, considering the why they did. I do hope all of you lucky souls enjoy it, just like I will.... in a couple of months. ;P

Scarab Sages

I recognize that the reason some people got theirs first was the vagaries of the Postal service. I figure that though people east and west of me have already got some early, mine won't show up till late next week.

So I will simply try to be happy for others and check the mail every day until it arrives.

I do find it a bit amusing that there are people complaining that they haven't got theirs yet when it was supposed to hit all the mailboxes on approximately the 13th.

Until the 13th gets here and it still hasn't shown up, any complaining done at this moment strikes me as being analogous to complaining that you haven't got rich playing the lottery yet. With many thousands mailed, the fact that a few got theirs some days early is just one of those things. I suspect most of us will get ours just about on the 13th when we are supposed to.

How does one check on the status of their delivery?

Apparently some of you are checking your tracking via UPS and what not. How are you getting your tracking numbers?

I'm assuming theyre not the same as the Paizo Order numbers?

At the bottom of your shipping notification email is a link to track your package with UPS. (It says you can also track it at the Paizo site, but that link doesn't work for me; use the UPS.com one.) Your UPS tracking number is listed there, too; if the link doesn't work for you for some reason, you can go to package tracking at UPS.com and enter it.

ShinHakkaider wrote:

It depends on how you had it shipped. Those that shipped it UPS (United Parcel Service) will have a tracking number.

Those that shipped it USPS (United States Postal Service) will not have a tracking number. Most people fall into this catagory, because it's less expensive.

1)Try looking at it as a good sign that folks really are looking folward to your product. I mean if it sucked or didnt fill some niche or such, you dont exactly see this for say a goodman game product.....

2) I'd pay to see you wade through the thread like Conan.....

Well there goes my hope of ever seeing my order from Amazon. If Amazon can't fill my order I wonder if I should pick up the pdf and just get Rogue Trader in print right now or drive to Dallas and try to hunt down a copy.

I am not sure about Kae'Yoss, but the only thing that worries me is that I have not received an email yet stating my product has shipped. Which, based on past deliveries, will mean the books will likely come between the 16th and the 18th. Now, there might be a miracle with postal service and they might come on the 14th. But based on the information I have right now, I won't likely get the books on the 13th or even 2 days after.

In either case, I can't say that I am angry and I hardly think Kae'Yoss is either, based on his posts. But it can be a bit disappointing to see other people get the books when my shipping email hasn't even been sent. I can only assume my books haven't been shipped because I am not a subscriber. Which is cool, it just means my game group will have to wait for the 4 books I did order.

Like I said, I am not angry nor do I think Paizo is terrible because some people got their books early. I am a huge fan. I was just kind of hoping to give the books out at my birthday celebration and based on what was said by Paizo, I thought that might happen. And the mail faeries might be kind and the chance might still come. But cut some slack for those of us who have legitimate reasons for being a bit disappointed. I didn't even order a book for myself, all my pre-orders are gifts that are being given at my own birthday party. At this point, I will be surprised if I get a book before November. And I am the GM of the campaign.

And I can feel all of this and still be deeply appreciative of all the hard work going on at the Paizo offices right now. I find their dedication really inspiring and it reminds me why I love this company so much.

So, honestly, I haven't seen any anger in this thread. Is there another place where all Hell has broken loose?

Edit: Okay..I found them. I certainly hope I am not being lumped in with those kind of posters. I am no where near those kinds of emotions.

I'm with you (except I am a subscriber and my orders are all still pending). I'm disappointed, but only in a "I wish Christmas was early this year" kind of way. In my case, the delay is due to Paizo being overly concerned with meeting my needs. I ordered three copies (my subscription plus two others) and they sent me an email to check whether I'd double ordered by mistake. Unfortunately I didnt get to it until the weekend, so I expect I wont see any of my copies until next week sometime... *sniff*

As you say though - disappointment/envy doesnt equal I hate paizo. It just means I hate some of their customers.

I haven't, you know. And the lady on the phone all but guaranteed that I'd be rich within a week. And ruler of the world. And a living deity.

But did they give me my weight in diamonds yet? Noooo! Eating all the extra food for nothing!

Does mankind bow under my iron rule? No it doesn't. It should. There's no justice in the world.

And don't get me started on the godling thing. Do you know how much time I spent on google earth marking the places I am going to visit with furious anger? All a waste of time!

I demand justice! I demand riches, power and world domination! And I'm going to get it. I'm going to sue!

I don't know about the more fancy stuff that isn't available to us non-Americans, anyway, but iin your order history, there is a status next to the order, like "pending/shipping/shipped on(date)/intercepted by terrorists and held random/etc"

Usually, that seems to be pretty accurate and up to date, but it seems that they're not updating it in this case, as people have reported having received their package before the status changed from shipping to shipped.

To everyone who responded to my question about how to track shipping, thanks! I guess I have the book coming via USPS. I should have realized that because that's how the AP's are shipped to me. Lost that in all the anxiousness I guess. Anyway congratz to those who got their books early. Ok, funny thought.

I hope my books don't come early. Donna's as eager to see the core rules as I am, but she has a 5 lb lifting limit (doesn't stop her from lifting her 11 lb chiuauaha though >:() so I'm worried she'll be so eager she'll try to lift the box, get dizzy fall over and die before I get home.

For the most part.

Some areas, such as the "Newark Airport," are partially in hell.

Oh that's not Newark, that's Hoboken! XD

While I'm not upset that I didn't get mine early, I'm a bit unhappy Amazon is reading September 8th. I've been down this road before when I ordered with "Farscape Starburst 1.2" from Amazon ... a year later I cancelled the order and not a 'Snowball's Chance in Hoboken' I'm paying $75+ for 4-6 episodes off Ebay.

EDIT: And I'm not ashamed of owning a copy of the above mentioned DVD if someone were to feel generous and wants to message me. ;)

*Sniff Sniff* I wasn't able to buy the book from Paizo...I couldn't afford the $50, but I got a $30 Amazon gift card for my birthday and got it from there...and their delivery estimate is September 9! I really really hope that that's -just- a pre-order estimate and that I get it well before that...I'm dying to get my Core Rulebook over here!

EDIT: Can anyone actually testify as to the accuracy of Amazon's delivery estimates for a pre-release? If the book is already out to distributors, surely it wouldn't another month for it to get to those of us who had to order that way.

Liberty's Edge

Curses to Amazon!!!!! They lure me in with their discounted prices and free shipping, then I won't even see the book until September?!? They are vile beyone reckoning! Yeah. yeah, distribution channels, blah, blah, blah. I want it now, and if I don't get it...I guess I'll wait. Sure would be nice to get that PDF early though.

At least you got a date from Amazon. Amazon.de still gives the 19th of august as the release date but has yet to tell me the shipping date.

There are of course some german distributors breaking the release date but their price is a lot higher.

Amazon.de still says August 19. So either something is wrong with one or more of these dates or the .de guys just know exactly which loved one/pet of which postal official/distributor/president to abduct to get their stuff on time.

My bet is the abduction thing. From all I've seen, they really care about our customers.

It's kinda like having Lex Luthor as your customer service guy or something.
