War of the Worlds

On BBC Radio 2 yesterday, there was a 90 minute broadcast of Jeff Wayne’s stage version War of the Worlds from the O2 arena. It should be available to listen for a week or so, in case anyone’s interested.

This is one of the greatest albums of all time. I can attribute my fascination with science fiction and fantasy at least partially to the illustrations on the inside of this album and the great music that went along with it. I've got this both in CD and vinyl, and it sounds great on a record. Thanks for the heads up on the live recording, I will check it out!

I like this album. If you prefer to here a performance version of War of the Worlds, I picked up an audio book version that was a pet project of Brent Spiner and Gates McFaden and was performed by the cast of ST: Next Generation. Great stuff.
