Let's say I'm a Cleric and I cast Shield Other on my barbarian. I myself have Defending Bone cast on myself. When the Barbarian takes damage how would that interact with Defending Bone on myself? Thanks for all your help.

The damage that shield other does to you is done after DR, it is half of the wounds inflicted, not the damage dealt. Defending Bone won't help you. If the Barbarian has DR though, that will help you both.
