Wow, it's been a while. I really hope he's alright. WD, if you're there:
I can't possibly understand what you're going through. But killing yourself will ruin your life, of course, and the lives of all those you know. Life is worth living. There are wonderful things in this world. As many have said, do all those crazy things you've always wanted to do. Join the circus. Go to Africa. Write a book. Write a biography. Set a record for watching Monty Python and the Holy Grail 2000 times. But do not kill yourself, please. Don't kill yourself. Talk to a friend, or a family member. Talk to the postal worker. Just don't give up your life. You've only got one.

If the big guy wants drawings before next ad project I'll let you know. We mostly do photography, but technical drawing has come up, and sometimes we do some storyboarding... some art could be needed.

Will totally keep you in mind.

I hope he's napping.

We all do, but I'm not giving up hope.

WD, I know how you are feeling right now, I know that overwhelming sense of uselessness you have been feeling for some time, it's like no matter what, everything seems like it's either falling apart or all the suffering you are feeling won't go away, trust me these feelings never go away completely, becaus I still feel these from time to time though I am strong enough to fight through them now, and bring happiness into my life.

but I feel your pain man because I was so close to committing suicide when I was 11, I can describe in detail everything I was going through, though that was many years ago. I just couldn't do anything right, I felt like a nuisance to my whole family, I felt like I was crazy and everyone would be better off if I just died and that was just a taste of what I was feeling from 9-11.

there wasn't a moment I didn't hate myself and everyone around me for hating me because I hated myself, it still honestly scares the s%$! out of me when I think about it , and I cry when I do, but I just don't know how I could feel that way because I've found that happiness that I wanted more than anything, but I couldn't get to save my own a@#. but seriously man hang in there, remember, no matter what there is always somebody there for you and if I didn't find that 1 person, I know without a f@#%$^& doubt that I wouldn't be alive today, trying to help you

email me at blackessque_13_boi@yahoo.com whenever you need to talk, because coming from someone who has been in your place...you really don't want to go through with it

Yeah, I fell asleep watching Mimic.

Then woke up a couple hours later. I'm assuming it was you Gary.. but you suck. Having three cops show up isn't pleasant.

I have been reluctant to post on this thread, since I doubt I have anything of value to contribute - indeed I am afraid of causing more harm than doing good by posting.
However I will say from personal experience that if I am stressed about something (such as a !$%?@* interview at the Jobcentre the next day) I do not sleep well, and things go downhill for a time from there. It can take me several days to recover from such occasions (or longer if the so called 'Employment Services' have been really messing me around).
Have you ever tried going away somewhere for a long break, on your own?
I mean somewhere quiet, with no pressure on, where nobody will tell you anything and you can spend all day in bed sleeping if necessary, or go out into a secluded spot and lie on a rock thinking or dozing or just watching the world go by for hours?

Just a thought.

Charles Evans.

WD,

If it was Gary, then that is because he cares. As do we all. You have friends here who DO care.

Kevin a.k.a. Sharoth

P.S. - I am sure that having the cops show up would be upsetting.

Liberty's Edge

Wow, three cops. Rough neighbourhood, or is that standard procedure?

Yeah, I probably wouldn’t enjoy that either to be honest, but just know that we here obviously care about your well-being … and we don’t even know you. But you’re a part of our community here, you’ve reached out to us for something (help? Someone to talk to? To vent?) and we want to help you if we can. And if a bunch of complete strangers from all over the world care that much, then I’m sure there are other people in your life who care too, and will feel really messed up if you were gone.

We love you. We woulda made him do it if we could've.

Lotsa cops I know don't have class and they sure aren't suicide counselors, but if you were sitting there slipping away at least they'd take you to the hospital.

Peace bro. Post anonymously anytime. And if you post under another regular name and we're dicks - don't mind us.

Right on, man. I gotta crash, but this is Paizo, man. There's always somebody here to shoot the shit with.

Those are my thoughts as well. And I hope the cops were at least respectful.

not a rough place. But, I figure since perhaps I'm a martial artist and they knew about guns... they brought in three.

Two county cops and 1 state trooper

Hiya WD.

I'm just checking in (Europe). Feel free to continue chatting if you like.

b.t.w. I saw this thread about an hour after you first posted and flagged it. I wasn't sure what else to do and dind't post. Anyway, I was probably the one who set Gary on you, who sent the cops to check on you. You can blame that wake-up call on me as much as on Gary.

Well... all I have to say is this;

Spoiler:

We can dance if we want to
We can leave your friends behind
Cause your friends don't dance
And if they don't dance
Well they're no friends of mine
Say, we can go where we want to
A place where they will never find
And we can act like we come from out of this world
Because you're one far behind

We can dance

We can go where we want to
The night is young and so am i
And we can dress real neat
From out hats to our feet
Then surprise them with a big trick ride
Say, we can act if we want to
If we don't, nobody will
And you can act real rude
And totally removed
And i can act like an imbecile

Say, we can dance
We can dance
Everything's outta control

We can dance
We can dance
We're doing it more and more
We can dance
We can dance
Everybody look at your hands
We can dance
We can dance
Everybody's taking the cha-ance
It's safe to dance
Oh well, it's safe to dance
Yes, it's safe to dance

We can dance if we want to
We've got all your life and mine
As long as we abuse it
Never gonna lose it
Everything will work out right
I say, we can dance if we want to
We can leave your friends behind
Because your friends don't dance
And if they don't dance
Well they're no friends of mine

I say, we can dance
We can dance
Everything's outta control
We can dance
We can dance
We're doing it more and more
We can dance
We can dance
Everybody look at your hands
We can dance
We can dance
Everybody's taking the cha-ance
Well, it's safe to dance
Yes, it's safe to dance
Well, it's safe to dance
Oh well, it's safe to dance
Ah yes, it's safe to dance
Well, it's safe to dance
It's safe to dance
It's safe to dance

Hah! As a child of the 80's, let me curse you for getting that stuck in my head now. :-)

EDIT:: Mothman:

Spoiler:

Haha, I have the first few lyrics on repeat in my head.

Watching another Charlie Sheen film... "Under Pressure"

Charlie Sheen is in that film?

He is billed as Charles Sheen but yeah. He's the bad guy. Really good so far. He's a hero firefighter and his wife and son left him because he apparently was abusive towards his son. He's losing his mind. Only about 26 minutes into it.

But, it's good.

I get it now.

IMDB has it listed as Bad Day on the Block.

My search for Under Pressure pulled up somthing (obviously) different.

Cool man, I did Wado Kai for 17 years, now I'm in China learning TaiQi Quan.

I can aggrieve cops pretty well.

Holy crap Sheen is good in this movie. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone.. but his wife and kid left him cause he was abusive. Now, it seems he has been projecting his hate inward.

This is a 1997 film so a few things are outdated, such as a repair man not having a cell phone.

But.. really... really good. It's not even in full swing yet.

I fully recommend this film. Especially if you are a Charlie Sheen fan.

I prefer his little bro' Emilio, but I've never turned down one of his flicks.

Liberty's Edge

Wow, never heard of this movie (maybe it didn't have a cinema release here?). I'll need to look out for it.

Oh yeah. Movies where they are together are always awesome.

My favorite movie with them both is Men at Work.

No way... Must see.

Men at Work is a great movie. Young Guns was good as well.

Welcoming Death wrote:

That it is. I tend to forget they were both in that one. Poor Charlie doesn't stand out enough in my memory...

It's over. Good movie.

I was just thinking.. what other movies were they in together? we should make a list.

Then ofcourse there is Martin with Charlie and Martin with Emilio and the holy grail.. all three of them.

Dragnet with Tom Hanks and Dan Aykroyd - another late 80s classic

I don't know off the top of my head on account of my smoking crazy cabbage before movies all through the 90s.

But I did love Young Guns, and I still secretly listen to Bon Jovi's "Blaze of Glory" sometimes.

Is there such a thing?

I don't know. If there isn't.. there should be.

2:00 AM plus over there. You ever sleep? Man, it's 5 PM over here.

It is 4:00 in Iowa right now give or take a few minutes

Insomniac much?

For me, being unemployed means you don't have a regular schedule.

And before that I worked 2nd shift for over 6 years, so I'm just a little over my "bedtime" for that.

yeah, i took that nap last night.

I work the 3rd(graveyard) shift. So this is my normal awake time.

Kruelaid wrote:

Clearly you didn't go to high school in New Jersey during the 80's. :-P

If I never hear the name Bon Jovi again it would be something of a miracle...

EDIT:: Now that I have caught up on my "show watching:"

My Google Fu is weak. I'm not coming up with anything.

So how do I know my Google Fu is weak?
Because when I try to search for movies that have both Charlie Sheen and Emilio Estevez, I only find Men at Work.
So, apparently my memory and Google share similar search algorithms.

IMDB good source. Trivia part Emilo and Charlie have had roles where they played the son and Martin played the father The War at Home for Emilo and Wall Street for Charlie but I can't find a refrence if all 3 have been in a movie together.

Yeah, hadn't thought of if they played siblings or such..

So, saw a bit in Dragnet just now.. gas.. was .71 cents... granted.. that's 22 years ago...

yea please don't remind me. I am only 23 and still remember when it was $.88 and when it spiked it was like $.92. oh the good old days

Yeah. I find myself feeling mighty old when I watch classic movies and catch things like gas prices.

Not too many years ago, I wasn't concerned about gas prices, now here I am sounding like my parents. "Why, I remember when gas was less than a dollar. And that was for premium, not the regular stuff I tell you."

so ten years earlier 1977 gas was .62
ten years later 1997 1.25

so.. another 1987 movie.. this one has Jay Leno in it.. and he's a cop
