We went andtook the kids to see Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs today. It ws a very funny, very cute movie. When we got home, one of our old neighbors that we haen't seen in ages shows up and gives my wife and I two movie tickets and a $75 Applebee's gift certificate. I guess things are looking up.

That was very nice of them. Enjoy your trip(s) to Applebee's.

We will, if we can find someone to watch the kids while we go.

I'd have my daughter watch your kids, but I don't think you want to pay for airfare. :)

I doubt the wife would think that was a good deal.

Solnes and Moorluck have the evening to themselves. I don't know why they're spending their time away from the boards. Some people...

Considering all they have been through lately, I think they have earned a night out.

I definitely agree.

WATCH OUT, TARREN DEI!

Wife fed me spicy pork roast, marinated, and topped with little pieces of bacon. Blessed, blessed pork.

EDIT: I guess it would really piss everybody off, but I miss Sam Weiss and wish he would come back. Did he stop posting anywhere but in political threads before he left?

I never had an issue with Sam.

I went back and reread a few of his last posts. He did have a certain way of posting things... I read some perfectly reasonable posts, but they'd start out with a little tweak at the beginning that I could imagine really setting people off. The one time I disagree with him about something in a thread, we basically explained our positions until what sounded like a huge difference was actually a small difference with a lot of agreement on both sides, but it started out seeming like it might be a rumble. After that, I just figured he was a real passionate guy who stated things strongly, but then he might cool off some if reasoned with.

Anyway, I know he had some regular "opponents," but I kind of feel like we lost a little color.

Well, it looks like my pbp may actually be starting up again. We'll see how many players show up after my long absence. But since I had eight to start with, if even half are still around then we got us a game. :)
OOOO which one?

The high seas game. The nightwatch game kept getting bogged down waiting for players who rarely posted.

Edit: I'm open to starting that one up again. I've got the plot all planned out and everything. But I'd need to get some more players for it first I think.

I'm not sure what kind of posting schedule you're looking for, but I can handle a post a day on a pbp. If you'll have me on board, that is. :)

Yeah, a post a day is about what I'd like. Which one? The high seas or the night watch? High seas is definitely happening, and we'll see how many players are still on board, but I'm betting I've got a berth or two available. ;) Heck, even if everybody shows up again, I can still find room for another player or two in that one. Less need for npcs that way. :) The high seas game was on a temporary hiatus because my life got crazy for a couple months. The nightwatch game I cancelled because posting was erratic and my life got crazy for a couple months. But I could start it back up if we brought in more players. I had both games all plotted out before the hiatus, so starting them up again is not too bad.

So Lynora, what are you hoping for here? A big kick-off for momentum and more consistency and staying power?

We went to see Surrogates. It was pretty good. I thought that the story was good and it looked pretty, but the pacing was a bit off.

I would join, but unfortunatly me and PbP do not get along. ~grimaces and then finds the nearest concrete pillar. I then paint a bullseye and the caption "When in time of Stress, Bang head here!"~ Hmmmnnnnnn... That might work! ~proceeds to bang my head a few (dozen) times~

And of course, I get a moment of downtime, and no one is around.

Pretty much. I tend to put more of my attention where the people are, so the high seas game got more love because the players were posting more frequently. The nightwatch game was going okay, but I kept having to double check where we were by the time everybody checked in. And now that my life has been downgraded from critical to stable I actually have the attention to spare to get back to running pbp.

Well, I for oen wish you the best with your PBP, lynora.

Hey, now, you don't want to damage that pillar. ;)

So what is it about pbp that doesn't work for you? If you don't mind me asking.

~Reaches in and grabs lynora's liver~ Nope. She is not chopped up. yet! ~pulls out the meat cleaver~

Absolutely not. But you know, I don't confine my brilliance to one thread, and I don't like all these threads where I'm the last poster...or one's where I posted and my post went unappreciated.

Ah. Okay. I understand that. Well, I hope that your issues get resolved soon. I wouldn't want my favorite dragon to go denting his scales banging his head into walls. :)

~grimaces~ That all depends upon how long it takes for me to get off this 4pm to midnight shift AND get out of debt AND get the house repaired.

Well, I'm going to call it a night. See y'all in the morning.

Alright. Tiem to start logging off for the night. take care you all and have a good night!
