Detroit Lions-Full of Win?

The Detroit Lions have decided that the reason that they have struggled for the past several years is because their logo is too tame. So, today they introduced a new logo. This is going to ensure that they go to the Super Bowl.

Yep, they're owned by the Ford family...

We may not be the best team in the league, but at least we're optimistic!

Werked for Tampa.

Well, I guess sometimes you just have to focus on the things you can fix :)

Maybe the 49ers need a new logo then.

And the Raiders. Actually, they just need to not have Al Davis involved in the organization.

The Raiders need to go back to Los Angeles, where they belong.
Or maybe we should send them and the Pirates to Somalia.

Speaking as a life long lions fan....(waiting for the laughter to stop)...
I think that anything that they do to make them win is a plus. If changing the logo works, great. Its not gonna hurt.

As a lifelong fan myself, I can say this - it will no less effective than drafting Stafford #1 will be, especially considering minor points like no OL, no defense, and probably paying $75M+ to a guy who likely won't see much playing time until 2010 at least ...

Absolutely! Go Wings! :)

(The other girl in my gaming group rolled her eyes at the rest of us when the GM paused for a minute mid-session after checking his phone for the score and letting us know that the Wings won, and we were like "Yes! Sweet!" And then had to look sheepish and be all like "okay, we're getting back in character now." )

You actually get to play in character? Wow. ;)

Champions session last night - My alien character crash lands after avoiding plowing his craft into a populated area. I rise out of the water, raise my hand at the assembled heroes, 'Greetings, Earthlings'. The hero mentalist casts telepathy on me (an attack) to see if my greeting was genuine. When he releases it I know I was 'attacked' and by whom. 'According to the Intergalactic Council bylaws, mind effects/controls are a violation in first contact situations.' The other player then tries to explain the sitch to the GM, who points him to me. He wouldn't roleplay it! I'm not always good at staying in character but come on!

Oooh, Ouch! That totally sucks. I think we've all had those nights from time to time. Honestly, our D&D game had gotten kinda like that. I'm really enjoying playing Scion as a change of pace. We spend much less time arguing over the rules :) And as an added benefit we've gotten to talk over some stuff for D&D that should result in less rules discussions and more roleplaying. *crosses fingers*

I know, they're all spicy and meaty and full of goodness. I should give you my recipe.

Not NHL. I like watching the Long Beach Ice Dogs and the Utah Grizzlies, but that's about it. They are IHL teams by the way.

Do I get a new tag if it is?

I actually knew that. Oh my gosh, a sports discussion where I actually know what I'm talking about...I'm pretty sure that's some kind of sign of the end times ;)

(Actually, I spend so much time as 'one of the guys' that I've picked up a lot of sports stuff without even meaning to.)
Anyways, since I live in the metro detroit area, it's not exactly a shock that I'm a Red Wings fan.

What? A new logo? So now I can't use any merchandise I have with the old logo? And the new lion is clearly inspired by the lions from World of Warcraft. They should totally just change their name to the Detroit LION$!

Spoiler:

Joking aside, I actually like the new design.

Nah. That would be the 'Hasbro buys out Paizo Publishing' thread. ;P

Silver Crusade

I don't mind the new logo as well. The uni thou I haven't liked (don't care for the black in it). Go back to Barry Sanders uni days & that will look sharp!!

(now if the Saints would go back to the old gold............)

C'mon, you've got to wish the Lions the best. The old lion was pretty lame, and the new one definitely looks better. Still, I would have taken the lion in a more heraldic direction, but somehow, their plea for my direction got lost in the mail with all the others...

Yeah, and the post mark from Cowboy Country didn't have anything with it being "lost in the mail"...

;)

Ah, got my directions crossed. Heck, the owner of the Cowboys isn't even a Texan...

There are lions in Detroit? Isn't is too cold up there for lions?

Too gamist for my taste.
