Keehaar plays with his ball for a while, but soon falls into an exhaused sleep. He reains his young boy form and snuggles up to the other hatchlings. He twitches as he enters the Realms of Dream.

Elder Evil ... the signs ... Chaos' Herald ... Sky ... must keep the power ... Blodwen ... fight it ...

He twitches and moans, but eventually falls into deeper realms where the visions do not bother him.

Mmmmmm.....roadkill

:I know, Blodwen. Right now we need each other, because you need to learn control, and I need your forgiveness. I have an idea of what you went through, becoming a god all at once, with no prepartion and no idea what was happening, was very painful and frightening for me. I can show you how I learned control and then bound that power, but I don't think your power should be bound. It is a part of you, something you were born with, and is something you should accept. Hlaawith told me the blocks they placed on your mind to hold your power back were removed long ago, but you had made your own. Can you tell me why? We are in your subconscious right now, and that secret may be found here.:

:Sky!: She hugs him tightly. :I'm so scared. Everything is all upside down and nothing is working the way it should. I can't even shift. I don't understand what's happening. All of a sudden I can do everything but I have no control over any of it. I don't like being so out of control.: She looks up at him and bites her lip. :I don't know. Maybe that's why I kept it bound. And why do you think you need my forgiveness?:

He cannot look at her.

:I may have caused your barriers to fall. I performed a ritual and used my god magick to power it. That ritual isn't meant for non-lycanthropes, and it seems it may have had adverse affects on you through out link.:

The dream landscape suddenly falls away underneath them and she clutches him tightly until there is something solid under her feet again.

:You forgot that I would need to be shielded didn't you? Oh, Sky, look at me. I don't think you would ever do anything to hurt me on purpose. It was a mistake, that's all. I'm not angry with you. I just feel scared and lost. I need you with me. Of course I forgive you.:

Sky holds her just as tightly.

:That means more to me than anyone else would know. I will try, no, I will remember in the future to shield you before I try something like that again.:

She leans her head against his shoulder, closing her eyes tightly against the shifting landscape.

:What sort of ritual was it, my eranoyeh? It sounded like it was something important.:

She smiled. :That means a lot to me. I worry sometimes about how the hatchlings parents would feel about how I'm caring for them. Since they never got a chance to even meet me. I've tried to do my best. Well, our best really. It's definitely a team effort. I love them every bit as much as if they were my own.:

The Wildwood and ND's palace at the heart of it are generally off limits to casual dreamers, except by invitation. This could be a random warning from me, an old friend of Brwaaaktor, by means of a dream spell or some such method. I have some peripheral knowledge and interest of EEE (careful to avoid name knowledge) and I am starting to get concerned by activity.

And while the compliment Shamness Osprey had given is true, it was used to divert Blodwen's attention from the ritual Calling(which I now believe I named wrong). Hope she doesn't find out. Sky is trying his best to keep all that occured and was said before/during/after the ritual, she'll be able to guess if a major battle happens soon. She may be suspicious as to why he is staying in his human form and using magic to fly instead of shifting...

Well, in his favor as far as keeping that secret from her is the fact that she's really distracted right now in general. Working against him is that she's gonna be getting a lot better at telepathy among other things.

Blodwen gasps as the landscape shifts once again. First stairs, then doors, then a series of whirlpools.
:I don't know how to make that stop.:

:This is your dream, my night wing. Think of where you would like to be and focus. I was able to control which of my memories you saw when we first shared dreams, and I had no idea what was happening. We know what is happening to you, so you have no real excuses. I know you can do it.:

And as for her getting better at telepathy, he should get better through their link, or be in for a really one-sided truthful marriage. Hm, are they going traditional or are they going to elope? ;p

For a moment, a Thassilonian archmage strides through the dreamscape, and then he is gone.

Fair point. Yeah, he would be able to tell if she was trying to hide something from him too. And she is pretty much letting him take the lead on the whole wedding thing. Starhawks don't have ceremonies. They just declare their intent to the Clan Elder and that's that. She's picked up a lot of customs and such from his surface thoughts, but overall she's really confused by them. :)

:Where I would like to be?: She concentrates really hard for a moment, closing her eyes and squinching up her face as she tries to gain control of the dream. When she opens her eyes again they are standing in a perfect replica of their nest back at the Eyrie. :It worked!:

:Did you expect it not to? This is good news. It means you are gaining control of yourself again. Don't try to rush things though. Freefall and the other starhawks are taking care of the younglings while we're gone. Let's just take things at a slow and steady, to make sure you can handle the trip back. Now why don't we try making things appear? It can be anything really, from a rock that looks like an egg to a bush that looks like a dragon.:

Rl calls! Literally, I just got a call from my friend saying it was time to go. I may be on later tonight or tommorrow.

In a discreet cave, high in the mountains above the Eyrie, Prince Azran pulls a face as he considers his latest meal.
Roast rodent on a stick, badly cooked over a joke of a fire. Hardly the fare that I have been accustomed to, eh Aritha? he murmurs to himself.

Darkness sudden and shocking palls across the Eyrie. Strange and terrible things seem to crawl and lurk in the shadows. Vast talons flick out slashing into the flank of a mountain, sending rocks tumbling, bouncing, and slithering as the very bedrock trembles violently in an earthquake.

Hyurk!
Translation: Urk, I've just been abruptly grabbed by something very big and nasty, having been caught completely by surprise. At no point in my wildest dreams did I think that he/she/it would ever give me his/her/its full attention. Drat. How wrong can you get?

Then, as suddenly as it came, the darkness is gone, with a swirl and a rush, streaming away from the high mountains, and leaving a huge gash torn in the mountainside. Silver and platinum ores glint now, where the vast claws gouged out the rock.

Djuhah frantically pulls together every last scrap of magic he can spare to protect the residents of the Eyrie. Of course this would happen while Sky and Blodwen were away. And according to Hlaawith, Blodwen might be more danger than help to them right now. He called out for Azuri'ith, knowing that he could not hold things indefinitely.

Azuri'ith flies back to the Eyrie and assists Djuhah in repairing the damage, freeing the djinn to tend the wounds of any who were hurt.

Freefall tries almost frantically to calm the younglings, even going so far as to do a little dance. When they finally calm down, he goes on recon just above the Eyrie.

Keehaar wakes screaming

The Scion of Night! Nooo!

Sky let go of Blodwen and clutches his head tightly. Blodwen can sense walls going up around his mind before his pain transfers to her.

:AH!! Somethings wrong... at the... Eyrie.:

His vision blurs for a moment, then he calms down.

:Don't worry Blodwen... Everythings okay now, Djuhah and Azuri'ith are taking care of the Eyrie and the wounded. Freefall says the younglings are OK and that he's doing recon just above the Eyrie. Nobady knows what happened, but I think LJ experienced something similar at the Grove. Oh that sudden surge of information hurt.:

Freefall dives back into the nest and moves to comfort Keehaar.

::Little one, be calm. Did you have a night terror?::

night terror= nightmare.

Keehaar gasps, his face drawn in a very adult look of concern.

::Evil, ancient implacable evil touched me like a eagle's shadow over a mouse::

Keehaar shakes his head and looks up at Freefall, his face clearing and assuming a more childlike look.

::Hi Freefall! Man I had some weird dream! I'm sorry if I yelled ..::

Keehaar's sudden change in attitude and outlook, causes Freefall to ruffle his feathers a bit.

::It's okay little hawk, there was quite a lot of screaming just a moment ago. Everything is fine now, so try to get back to sleep, okay?::

Keehaar stretches

Yeah, I think I will! Thanks Freefall!

He resumes his slumber

:You're sure the hatchlings are okay?: she asks, panicked. :What am I saying? Of course you're sure. I guess you're not the only one who can be a little overprotective sometimes,: she says with an apologetic smile. :I'd offer to help with your headache but right now I'm afraid I'd just make it worse.:

:Don't worry, the pains fading. I keep getting images of what happened, but they are nothing more than darkness and then light. Almost like night and day passed faster than normal.:

:That is odd. Oh, I hate this. We should be there. I just want to go home, to our nest, and be there to take care of our hatchlings ourselves. I hate that I can't be near them right now! And it doesn't matter how much I try, I can't get any more control over this dreamscape than I already have. I can't summon anything. Or shape anything, even myself. I can barely manage to communicate with you telepathically, but it still hurts. I've never felt so helpless in my life.:

Sky begins to think something, but rejects the thought before it even forms.

:Give it time, eranoyeh. Control doesn't happen overnight. Think of it like learning to fly, you will soar high one day, but you need to learn to flap your wings first.:

Reassurance flows to her from Sky, raising her hopes slightly.

It occurs to Sky that Blodwen's primary talent has always been shapeshifting and that when he reached her in this dream place that the landscape itself was shifting. She may be trying to subconsciously apply shapeshifting principles to her new abilities. Obviously that isn't working well.

A platoon of treants march in rigid formation across the dream landscape, grumbling something about orcs, before disappearing from view.

:Blodwen, these new powers are not like your shapeshifting, you can't apply the same form of control to it. When you learn a new form, do you try to master it like one of your old ones? Think of it like a game, you just have to try something new to win.:

Splooooooorrrrtch!

Back at the Eyrie, a women steps through the portal and looks around, surveying the damage some recent event has cause. Without a word, she sets to work making repairs using a spell

Telekinesis.

She looks startled. :I...I suppose. I can try. Ummm, this may take awhile.:

She starts a long process of trial and error trying to test new ways to interact with her powers. After a lot of failures she finally gets the hang of teleportation by visualizing it as a paper being folded up into different shapes. She sits down, exhausted.

:I didn't know I could get so tired while I was asleep. That was not easy. And I still don't know how to deal with any of the other things. But it's progress, right?:

:Based on what I saw during that mindstorm? Let's see,: she says, ticking them off on her fingers as she goes. :There's shapeshifting, which I already had, telepathy/empathy which suddenly got way too overpowering, teleportation which I seem to have the hang of now, telekinesis which I don't, and a little bit of shaping things out of the aether, but I don't think I'm as good at that one.:

:If you try to tune down your telepathy/empathy, you may be able to handle it easier. You might be able to use telekinesis by either calling for it by name or seeing it coming to you with your mind. As for shaping things out of aether, let's try actually bring some to us first and try shaping it physically.:

You used X-men for reference, I used Charmed(Paige and her orb telekinesis).

Blodwen tries summoning some ectoplasm. Unfortunately, she doesn't have very good control or aim and it ends up splattered all over them.

:Sorry,: she says scraping goo off of her face. :That didn't quite work the way I'd planned.:

I only ever saw the first season of Charmed and I don't remember much about it.

Basically, Paige was a long lost sister who had telekinesis like Pru. The difference was she is half-white lighter and half-witch, so she orbs things around by saying the name of it. If she said 'chair' the chair she pointed to would turn into white lighter orbs and move where she wanted it to.

:It got the ectoplasm here didn't it? Now we can see how to move and shape it. We we get back to the Eyrie I'll see about getting you a potters wheel so you can practice shaping the ectoplasm into statue and others cool things. Don't be so hard on yourself, your doing very well given the circumstances,: he thinks to her, smiling as he does.

Ah. That makes more sense now. And is kinda cool. I like it. :)

Blodwen really struggles with shaping the ectoplasm, more often creating a mess than whatever she was trying to form.
:I can't do this,: she said, frustrated. :It just goops all over.:

:Perhaps you should try something really simple, like a ball or a five-point star,: he thinks, but has a sudden realization, :Maybe if what your trying to make has more of a purpose, you could make it easier. Try making a few things for our nestlings!:
