RPG Superstar 2011 Top 16

We can't be the first group to get started!

My group consists of...

Halt: male dwarven cleric of Abadar working for his freedom

Erzabet: female half-elf monk also working for her freedom

Astra: female human rogue/fighter seeking her roots

Kito: male human wizard/archivist looking for Haleen

Jirani: male human fighter also looking for Haleen (they're brothers, and have a Raistlin/Caramon sort of thing going on)

Scarab Sages

We're not starting until the 11th, but I've got characters from all my players - subject to change until the last minute, judging from previous campaigns ;-) We're playing this as a 4th edition campaign, so...

Dalan - Human Warlord seeking his roots
Elizabeth - Human Paladin of Shelyn, Dalan's sister, also seeking her roots.
Jolly - Halfling rogue looking for Haleen
Aravan - Eladrin ranger who's a gnoll killer
Taliesin - Tiefling bard (undecided on campaign trait...)

I am a rather ambitious DM so I am running the AP for two groups of 4, one is a group of players relatively new to Pathfinder and the other is my old gaming group, so therefore the Nubile Wonders and the Grizzled Ancients:

Nubile Wonders:

Half-Elf Bard - Traits Undecided
Human Fighter - Scorpion Whip master, Earning Freedom
Half-Orc Cleric - Priest of Saranae, Missionary Trait
Human Rogue - Finding Haleen Trait

Grizzled Ancients:

Jabari - Human Cleric, Mystic and Cleric of Abadar, Finding Haleen
Rasheed - Human Ranger, Reclaiming Roots
Talib - Halfling Rogue, Gnoll Killer
Salaam - Halfling Bard, Findin Haleen

We won't start this up for a couple of months, as we're still finishing up a Shackled City campaign, but early character concepts include a M'wangi witchdoctor and an escaped harem girl.

Liberty's Edge

We still have a couple unknowns but this is what we have so far, using Pathfinder Beta.

Seraph, Male Human Sorcerer with the Fire Elemental bloodline.

Female Human Fighter->Dervish who has Desert Wind as a Legacy Weapon

Male Human Rogue->Assassin

Human? Ranger who hates Gnolls

Male Human Cleric of Sarenrae going Radiant Servant

and one unknown

Ugh! This group doesn't know how to play with the Adventure Path setting! Bah! (just kidding, nice group!)

Update on my Nubile Wonders Group:

The group has decided that one of the group, the older RL player, will be the son of a slaveowner, and the other three are three previous slaves who were freed by the player in return they accompany him on glorious adventure. (It's a rather strange group, but this is their first time playing Pathfinder/DnD, so I will let them have fun)

They are:

Claudius Falulius Nobb - Human Sword and Board Fighter, Son of a slaver who seeks riches through adventure and glory rather than the shady family business. This comes from his encounters with the beautiful Haleen, who frequently did work for his father, but took a shine to young Claudius and told him about all the potential for adventure in the far reaches of Katapesh, dazzling him with stories of heros and djinn who warred against and sometimes allied with one another. He freed the other players from his father (without his father's knowledge) and they went off to Solku looking for adventure and seeking the missing Haleen, where they met a man named Garavel...

Gildern Stern Nobb - Human Two-Weapon Kukri Fighter, fought in underground gladiatorial fights for Claudius's father before befriending and being freend by him.

Rosencrans Nobb - Halfling Bard, specializing in the socrpion whip. With his dazzling voice and razor sharp wit, he was quickly befriended by Claudius who found his antics quite fun. He serves as comic relief for the group.

Hamlet Nobb - Human Cleric, servant of Sarenrae. "Working" under Claudius's father as a healer for his gladiatorial rings, Hamlet had been requisitioned from Solku's Church of Sarenrae in return for certain shady favors Claudius's father had performed for the churches hierarchs, allowing them to keep their hands clean.

Scarab Sages

LoF Golarion Group, home campaign:

Aldadlon "Whisperwind" Heavenstar - CG wood elf {Mwangi} ranger [Desna]
Ibrahim - NG human {Osirion/Keleshite} favored soul [Imhotep - new deity]
Ashraigh - CG gray elf {Kyonin} transmuter [Nethys]

Small party, but has extra treasure and ability scores to help compensate.

  • Samor - Human (Shaonti) barbarian/sha'ir - from the Shaonti Cinderlands, driven from tribe due to djinn blood and come to Katapesh to learn of heritage.
  • Beltag - Human (Varisian) rogue/beguiler - managed to get Samor passage from Riddleport to Katapesh, and remains as his friend and confidant.
  • Vorenus - Human fighter - originally from Sandpoint, he's stationed in Katapesh and became friendly with the other "Northerners."
  • Temiras - Human (Katapeshi) scout/cleric - local guide and spiritual advisor. The others' Kelish is fluent enough to catch about half of what he says, and when he pulls out his lute they all close their ears.

Used Mad God's Key to introduce the 1st three to Katapesh, then moved into Howl of the Carrion King, with The Distraction as a side-quest before tackling the Battle Market.

The group I'm running this for:

    * Amra, half-elf ranger who really hates gnolls.
    * Burburtep, half-orc monk and a freed slave.
    * Bouzak, half-orc cleric of Sarenrae.
    * Fenthor Furfoot, halfling bard who frees slaves.

The group is smallish and would be completely unviable in 3.5, so I'm running it in Pathfinder RPG. We're now one session into Howl of the Carrion King and they've cleared out the monastery. Next time... Kelmarane!

Yay, we are starting our gaming group back up in 2-3 weeks after a few months hiatus.Looking at 2nd week in June, possibly third at the latest.

    My smallish LoF group...

Orwyn Dunestone - Dwarf Ranger (first female dwarf ever for us).
    Jade- Halfling female Rogue
Furiel Astralon - Elf Cleric of Sarenrae (DMPC)
yet to be named - Human Sorcerer

We are still using 3.5 rules with some PFRPG rules like...

    Better Starting HD for Rogues/Sorcerers
    Channel Energy for Clerics
CMD and all the special combat maneuvers (grapple, overrun, etc)
    At will Cantrips/Orisons
    Negative Levels/Energy Drain

Egads! My above crew might be headed to RotRL instead. So ignore the post above this one.

    Scarab Sages

Well, we just finished HotCK and I must say the whole group went WOW when it was done. It was just that good! So my group that is about to head to The House of the Beast is:

    Caladrel Nightsong (Moldspeaker with Tempest)
Wiz3/Clr (Sarenrae)2 (heading the route of the mystic theurge)

    Alman
    Ftr3/Rgr2

    Logor
    Ftr5

    Raiden
    Rog5

A new player who is playing a cleric of Gozreh 5, will be joining to take over for one of the players who had to leave and was a cleric.

    The Exchange

Gonna have to throttle back some of the content, but my wife and I are about to start running my kids through 'Howl of the Carrion King'. We're running Pathfinder Beta rules until the real thing gets published. This is their third run at the game, so they understand their choices if not the mechanics.

Mark (my son, age 6) is playing a human druid (no name yet). A desert nomad character with a razorscale lizard companion. He's played two fighters and wants to try magic. He's looking to avenge his master's death on a mysterious beast that hunts the hills above Kelmerane.

Rachel (daughter, age 8) is playing a gnome wizard (illusion specialty) named Seetah. She liked the illo of Linni the druid and decided she wanted a wizard version with orange and purple hair and a fennec fox familiar. She may be a budding Pathfinder - depending on if I like the source-book that's coming out. :)

The lovely wife is running a pair of half-siblings. One is a human barbarian named Kade. The other is a half-elf female rogue named Kendra. They'll be looking for Haleena, a figure from their childhood.

My LoF PBEM group, who are enmeshed in saving the goat to save the world:

Jackal: half-elf rogue. First PC with low-light vision I've seen in quite a while. Quiet, wary type. Will probably be killed by foes drawn by a noisier and less wise companion.

Khebekseknef: Gebbite dread necromancer (Heroes of Horror) "Can I use my channel energy to burn out the cacti?" "Well they're alive, so sure. But it's a burst and it comes out of you. So if you want to score first blood on the party..." I gelded the guy's paladin in another game, so I guess this LE sort is my punishment. :)

Kotesh: human cleric of Abadar, sort of a reincarnation of a much-loved cleric from another game. Temptation to call him Kotex is strong. I'm a bad person.

Nularna: human sorcerer, fire bloodline. Also a new interpretation of an old PC, amusingly detailed out to 20th level on spell picks. One assumes the player is just so excited to be playing in one of my games that he couldn't help himself. Got the Harrow shellacking and charmed Dashki, so that red herring died fast.

Jaraad: human ranger. I haven't seen a ranger in a long time. Dual-wields kukri for extra cool points. Has favored enemy: gnoll and the gnollkiller trait. He's going to have lots of fun. Must remember not to drive this PC insane, as have done so to another PC run by the same player in a different game.

Atreis: half-orc druid, fire domain. Failed an impressive series of spot checks while he was the only PC who could even potentially spot the pugwampis. Currently wearing many cactus spines.

So far none of them are near death (boo!) but they didn't do much of a job at saving the caravan from the fires. One hopes their luck continues. It's boring when the PCs always do everything just right and never have to recover from failure.

They're doomed. Simply doomed. I foresee tragedy in their future.

And now for my list (what can I say, we've started a little late in the game, but that just means we get to use all the nifty fan-made stuff so nyaaah and such).

    Anyway, here's the list:

    Henrik Calien
Human, Male Cleric of Cayden Calien.
Doesn't quite remember how he got to Katapesh from Varisia but figures he must have had a good time. Eventually stumbled across the local Pathfinder Lodge and decided that sounded like more fun than most other options and thus Seeking Adventure is his trait.

    [/b]Melantha[/b]
Half-Elf, Female Wizard (evoker) and follower of Nethys
Twin sister of Najeda. Born in Kelmarane and working to reclaim her roots. Shares her sisters beauty though tends to be quiet and reserved.

    Najeda
    Half-Elf, Female Cleric of Sarenrae.
Twin sister to Melantha. She is a beauty and well aware of it. We've yet to see if she uses this to her advantage. While she is also reclaiming her roots with her sister she has been tasked by the Church of Sarenrae to attempt to re-establish the temple in the vicinity near Kelmarane as well.

    Abdullah Emir Anand
Human, Male Fighter and follower of Abadar.
Seeking the women who was as a big sister to him and his surrogate brother. She was responsible for getting him into a small but established academy where he not only learned the arts of war but skills of diplomacy and tactics. He worked, for a time, with the Dusk Walkers but with Haleen disappearing under such mysterious circumstances he couldn't resist joining Almah's group after hearing of her possible presence in Kelmarane.

    Kipp
Half-Elf, Male Rogue, follower of all deities of a non-evil bent.
When his father died at the hands of the fell powers he was trying to control Kipp was scarred for life. Both in mind and body. The clerics of Abadar did what they could to mend his face but still he wears a mask to cover a visage that has made women faint. The scarring to his mind is that he fears for his soul, he was lead to believe the creature that slew his father has claim over it and follows all gods as a result, hoping that one will grant him safe passage to the afterlife. A brother in all ways save blood to Abdullah Emir Anand he too seeks Haleen, taking time off as a 'relic acquisition expert' for the temples of the region to pursue this goal.

Started a while ago we're on the final part of Howl and had a few bumps but things have been going mostly ok.

Kismia- Human Sorceress Elemental bloodline (Air = Cold) seeking her roots.

    Pac- Half-orc Barbarian seeking adventure

Milo Gardener- Halfling Rogue earning his freedom (hence his last name he was a gardener)

Thurmatage the Wise- Human Cleric of Sarenrae who is trying to find Haleen

We are going to be starting LoF in ~ 2 weeks and here is the cast list:

Mshai Watii– Osirion Water Druid - Seeking Adventure

Sadiq Mubarak – Osirion Priest of Sarenrae - Missionary

Khair – Osirion Holy Warrior of Sarenrae - Reclaiming Your Roots

Galen – Varisian Mystic - Earning Your Freedom

Orson – Warrior from Lasthall - Finding Haleen

    Grand Lodge

    My group's just about to finish up book 2 of Legacy of Fire, and the crew is as follows;

Tsurista, NG female human cleric 7 (Sarenrae); Tsurista (her name means 'light of dawn') is a young and vivacious member of Sarenrae's clergy. The dynamic seems to be placing her as the moral center of the group, and probably the closest thing they have to a leader. Tsurista came to Kelmarane as a Missionary.

Olcot Joffic, NG male human ranger 3/fighter 4; Olcot's a stoic crossbowman, with favoured enemy (gnoll), All Gnolls Must Die, etc. He's absolutely lethal with his crossbow. A lot of the fights in book 2 have had three gnolls dropping in quick succession whenever he gets an action. He's planning on entering Horizon Walker next level. Olcot is a Gnoll Killer.

Ahmeren, NG male human ranger 3/scout 4; Ahmeren is an easygoing man who nevertheless possesses a disturbing skill with his heirloom Osirion khopesh. With Spring Attack and Swift Hunter, his strikes can kick out a lot of hurt. He came to Kelmarane as a means of Reclaiming His Roots.

Sirea Ashrani, CG female human bard 1/ranger 2/swashbuckler 3/dervish 1; ....yeah. At least Sirea is planning on stopping at only the four classes. She's a dancer from Katapesh who now hosts the fragments of Vardishal's consciousness within her mind, and wields the scimitar Tempest. She came to Kelmarane with hopes of Finding Haleen.

Jerboa Weaselfriend Tamperlight Shadecaller Geniekin Fiendflight Copperpot Withertoe Rustkey Spidersnack Searflesh Thumbscrew Gnollbait Goatmaster Greatprotector Newtbane, CG male gnome sorcerer 7; Jerboa is a 3 ft tall mobile pile of rags and pieces of interesting-looking clothing, with a number of lamps secured to him at various points. Jerboa used to be a slave, but he was a very bad slave, so he kept being punished and tortured. It didn't seem to bother him that much, which wasn't the reaction his owners were looking for. When Garavel came seeking help to reclaim Kelmarane, they saw it as a great opportunity to rid themselves of a worthless slave. Jerboa likes being outside much more than being tortured. It also allows him to indulge in his undying passion for lamps. Jerboa was, of course, Earning His Freedom, which he has successfully done.

And I have to run games for this bunch of misfits. It's a hard life, I tell ya. ;)

    Liberty's Edge

    Just finished our first session..

    .
    .
    .

Oded Human ranger...Has a strange birthmark on his arm that he has been told has some religious meaning but he can't remember what. He was betrayed by his brother and is now an outcast from his family seeking to prove himself. Joined up for the Gnoll Hunt

Haji Human Wizard (Tribal Shamen) Uses the optional rules for scribing his spell book into items rather than a book. Currently has a staff with skulls (now including 1 pugwampi skull) and other bones and knick nacks that he uses to scribe his spells onto. He went on a spirit journey one week only to return and find the majority of his tribe had been captured by Gnoll slavers. Now he is hoping to team up with this group and get some answers out of the local Gnolls.

Tikkala Female Human Cleric of Sarenrae Seeking to prove herself to her church and reclaim the lost temple at Kelamarane

Kylar Human Fighter... Father was not a local while mother was born at Solku. Father died under mysterious cirmstances and he has just found his father's favourite weapon (a magical Longbow.) When his father died his mother returned with him to set up her own business and paid to send him to college in his fathers Andoran birthplace. But when he got there he could find no eveidence of his father ever having come from there. Not only that but suddenly the funds dried up and he was kicked out of college only to return home and find his mother gone and the family business up to it's eyeballs in debt. He had to sell off everything except his father's longbow and still owes money to a local moneylender. He has now gone on this adventure to hopefuly earn enough to pay off the Moneylender and avoid slavery.

Lamia Female Human barbarian... (Her name means: Devourer of Children)Her father was a treasure hunter in Osirion. He never came back one day after he went on a journey seeking the fabled tomb of the 4 pharohs. She was subsequently sold into slavery working on a pesh farm. Escaped and has since been wandering the desert spending time with the various nomads looking for rumours about her father.

Gus Wyrmslayer 12yo halfling child rogue ...who stowed away on Garavel's caravan and wasn't noticed until too late. Funnily enough though he has been of great use to the party on several occasions and they have since adopted him. He's just in it for the adventure and his apparent lack of fear has already gotten them into trouble.

We're just about to start the Impossible Eye and our current party layout consists of:

Kurt the Dwarf - Fighter/Dwarven Defender
    Teimoso - Half Elf Swashbuckler
    Shamzee - Gnome Illusionist
    Electric Copper - Human Sorcerer
    Mori - Gnome Warmage Variant
    and me
    Vendlon - Grey Elf Archivist

We had tons of deaths during the first two modules but the line up has stabilized since part 3. We can now rez dead characters rather then replace them.

    Dark Archive

I am DMing a group of Legacy of fire. We are just starting out with HotCK and are into our 2ed play session.

    My group consists of:

Mali Licous - Ulfen Druid Ng Female (23) Migrated from irrisan to kingdom on the limworm kings met haleen and moved with her to Katapesh

Leelah Westerfly - Halfling Bard female (34) I am a freed slave, favorite from a wealthy slave merchant. Trained as a dancer and low whistle player (for accompanying myself) inspired by tales from other merchants. I am traveling to see the world, free other slaves, + make a name for myself.

Grumph Gemnok - Dwarf Cleric of Pharasma. Home land : Unknown . Raised in Garund. He was given 900 gold to travel to Katapesh as a missionary for Pharasma. He has some minor healing skill and has gaining some power over death as well.

A few notes about what we have done so far

    Gm Info, not PC friendly:

Our fighter hacked her way though the Cactus patch to rescue Rombard. so there was little pugwampi fun to be had there. Now that we have moved onto the monastery the PC really got to have a taste of how irritating they are going to be. They found the 3 in the Kitchen the druids Snake animal companion was my first Kill the pugwampis crossbowed something they are familiar to hunting to death. The Druid put an obscuring mist in the room which freak the crap out of my pugwamps.Teh Dwarf had moved in through the fog hoping to aid the snake in its fight is seen by the pugwampis who taunt him abtou the dead snake he then retreats out of the room. a few rounds passed of ecveryoen leaving the room and moving away form the door. the druid with a light spell backed up twords the baboons room and pissed them off. One baboon came out as i tried to push the PCs back twords the pugwampis ( who were going bat s!~~ crazy over having food and praising the gnoll gods for sending them fresh meat and shrieking in fright about the fog) The druid Calmed it down and it went back to its room seeing it was outnumbered then the fighter double moved past the room and pissed off the other 3. so now the fight is 3 pugwampis in the kitchen adn 3 baboons v 4 PC's TPK no, the Druid calmed another one down and they slaughtered the other two baboons. Before the fog dissipated the Halfling bard who speaks Gnoll in a high pitched voice screams that they have dead dwarf to feast upon now and that the fog is harmless. They fall for this hook line and sinker. 3 pugwampis come runnign out to revel in the death of the dwarf they think they made flee for his life earlier and are quickly disposed of.

They started at the moldy door and tried to burn it away but all it did was singe it. they opened the door then decided to not go that way yet.

I started DMing the AP a few weeks ago with a group of five players, using the PF Beta Rules. We just finished Part Two of HotCK and are now a little bit off-road,

    Spoiler:
scouting the mountainous vicinity for a while. I skipped the suggested day-by-day timeline of events at the beginning of Part Three, because my players where eager to find more support (and XP) before scouting Kelmarane.

    Our group consists of:

Ben-J’Laan al-Jalmerayi, LN male human monk; raised as a foundling on the island of Jalmeray, this quiet man never found a place in the Vudrani society. Now he hopes to find his roots in Kelmarane.

Blade, LN male half-elf fighter; raised as a slave, Blade is a devoted member of The Blazed, a mamluk organization dedicated to Sarenrae. By now, he wields the blade Tempest furiously.

Crudefrygg, NG male gnome fire sorcerer; sold to the party as a slave, this nosy gnome frequently forgets about his lesser station. Just like any other ….

El-Sayad-al-Sihr, N male elf universalist wizard; this self-opinionated and aloof forlorn hopes to find the ancient knowledge of the Djinn he believes necessary to become a godlike wizard some day.

Khair al Din aka Imbral Tortek, NG male dwarf cleric (Sarenrae); the kind-hearted son of a merchant family was toughened by his (voluntary) work on a pesh plantation. He rapidly became the group’s anchor and spokesperson.

    Scarab Sages

Our group is currently in the part 4 of the HotCK.
Rildamar Chelaxian wizard. This older pesh addicted spellcaster seeks his lost elven wife.

Rufel Zanboa Mwangi paladin of Sarenrae. He and his brother are trying to find out what happened to Haleen.

Sambi Zanboa Mwangi monk of Sarenrae. Like his brother is questing to find the where abouts of Haleen.

Semra Sahinchi Varisian cleric of Sarenrae. Missionary from Karvosa trying to restore the temple.

Amara Garundi ranger. Attempting to earn her freedom. Hates gnolls and has the chance to satisfy her desires as the moldspeaker.

Kashua Keleshite rogue. Just in it for the adventure and gnoll killing.

My group is playing in a Ptolus/Pramel setting. The country of Uraq is sufficiently sketched out enough that we easily slid this one right in.

    My group:

Gerber Loewe: Shamed former LG Human Knight who's often drunk about losing his knighthood.

Jadid Ahad: LN Human Monk who's focused on grappling with decisive strike and experiencing the outside world for the first time.

Mahjub Mutawalli: CN Half-Elf Rogue who grew up as a street urchin with the Duskwalkers .

    Abud al-Jabiri: CN Half-Elf Beguiler who is a cosnumate liar/con man/seducer.

Dima Ughruda al'Badiya: CG Human Sorcerer with water abilities who is searching for her sister Medhi (otherwise known as Haleen). She has Marid genie blood and going for an Avatar Waterbender style.

Abu'l-Faraj Muhammad bin Is'haq al-Nadim: NG Human Cleric/ Imam of Hannan (or Sarenae). Our middle eastern sun god is explicitly Islamic in flavor, and the player was a reporter in the Middle East for a while. He specifically wanted to make a badass Islamic cleric to sort of combat stereotypes.

An 11-year old girl having escaped and killed her father who wanted her to surpress her abilities, was taken in by Haleen. She is on a search for what happened to her ward.

    Treagar

    Graff
    Male Half-Orc Cleric of Sarenrae
Having found redemption, is looking at ridding himself of a cursed shield and ghost of a little girl, and something even more sinister....

Inaya, a female suli-jann monk and professional scribe from Jalmeray.

Stalton, a male halfling wizard from Katapesh. His special skills revolve around finding trouble, so far he hasn't made a paying profession out of it yet.

I find in classless fantasy games that most PCs still fall into highly recognizable archetypes.

Six players, just hit 5th level.

Kashim, LG Aasimar Cleric 5 of Sarenrae (Sun and Healing domains): originally from Solku, Haleen's half-brother.

Angeni, LG Paladin 4 Crusader 1 of Iomadae: also originally from Solku, parents (both Paladins of Iomadae) killed at the Battle of Red Hail. Haleen's adopted sister.

Fayad, CG Rogue 1/Transmuter 4(going into Arcane Trickster): amusing fellow that doesn't know nearly as much about himself as he thinks. Grew up in the Uwaga Highlands and is returning to reclaim his family's land.

Korgen, NG Dwarf Ranger 5 that really, really, hates gnolls. Family is orginally from Zolurket.

Zelle, CN Elf Rogue 2/Swashbuckler 2 going into Duelist, grew up on the streets of Katapesh, raised by humans after being found among the ruins of a slaughtered Mwangi caravan.

Asher, CN Horrible Abomination (Ghul half-dead from a dragon article back in the day) get ready... Psychic Warrior 1, Battle Dancer 1, Barbarian 1, Scout 1, Swordsage 1. *laughs* His mother was (if I recall) a noble of Taldoran descent that married a successful merchant. His business failed while she was pregnant with their first child and he was killed for not paying debts owed. His wife went mad with grief and went wandering aimlessly. She wound up in the sable sands... Asher was deposited by the missing woman at the door of her former best friend before she disappeared again.

    The Exchange

We just started HotCK a few game sessions ago. The group consist of :

Altair - Aasimar Priest (from Tome of Secrets) of Sarenrae, from Solku, Missionary

Torzog - Half-orc Druid, from the Nowruz Vale in the Pale Mountain region, Gnoll Killer

Melaku - Human Fighter, Duskwalker agent from Katapesh, Reclaiming his roots and looking for his sister Haleen

Constella - Elf Wizard (Conjurer), former apprentice of Rayhan Xobhadi from Katapesh, Seeking adventure

Akbar - Tengu Monk, Nightstall urchin slave from Katapesh, Earning his freedom

    Liberty's Edge

We started HotCK in September and will be finished in a few weeks. The players consist of:

Fallah Ibn Rashid - Human Wizard seeking his freedom. A very mild man who is not afraid to use force when needed.

Asham Aleek - Dwarf Cleric of Sarenrae looking to restablish the church in Kelmarane. Father Asham actively seeks to convert people to Sarenrae or strike them down in her name.

Pangaea - Half Elf Ranger seeking adventure. The Moldspeaker. An aspiring member of the Pathfinders and accomplished archer.

Rida - Human Rogue trying yo reclaim his roots in Kelmarane. A street wise young boy who enjoys to tinker with things.

Rash - Half Elf Monk looking for his sister Haleen. Probably the most moral and ethical member of the group who would rather stun an opponent rather than kill them.

Utarchus - Half Orc Barbarian with a deep hatred of Gnolls. Would rather kill a Gnoll rather than look at it.

We started Legacy of Fire on October 5th with four PCs and one DM NPC.

Nolan - human Ranger archery but using the switch hitter from the Ranger thread, gnoll hunter [DM NPC]
Abbas - human Cleric of Saranrae, slave looking to be free
Aemos - human Wizard, universalist and budding Pathfinder
Ella - human Rogue, looking for her mentor Haleen
Saharan - human Paladin of Saranrae, looking to re-open the temple

    Current status:

They have finished the temple, found the sword, and are about done with the shrine. They have also done some scouting of Kelmarane, charmed a dang gnoll and learned alot (stupid 1 on save!).

Next meeting they will finish the shrine, and explore Kelmarane more.

    Currently 3rd level, almost 4th.

    Grand Lodge

We just started a new LoF game last night. There are 5 players in the group, however one was unable to make it last night. The party makeup is:

    Half-Orc Paladin of Sarenrae
    Half-Elf Ranger (Archery Focus)
    Human Cleric of Nethys
    Suli Sorcerer
Halfling Rogue (absent last night due to illness)

Both the cleric and sorcerer took the "Finding Haleen" trait, so they are (half?)-brothers.

The group completed Part 1, with a string of failures to connect followed by a resounding <SMACK> of 2 lucky shots to the pugwampi.

The intrepid group will resume in 2 weeks to start clearing the monastery.

Can't believe I missed posting in this, we started about 2 months ago. The party now:

A stern man with a tall pole arm introduced himself as Alicar, who frequently hires on to expeditions similar to this as a protector of pilgrims. (Paladin)
Next was the gun-toting elf who only introduced himself as Mustard Seed, a self-proclaimed hunter and hater of gnolls. (Ranger)
A hulking man wearing a brightly coloured mask named himself Silla a la Cara, a veteran of the Grand Coliseum of Katapesh. (Monk)
The only female in the group, a diminutive elf with a pair of wicked shortshords, called herself Rhesa and was quick to try to convert the others to the worship of the ancient elven deities known as the dragons. (Rogue)
The final member was the mysterious elven man known Variel, who claimed to be a fortune teller and often interrupted the other members of the party, claiming he already knew what they were about to say and it wasn’t worth the time. (Diviner)

And the strange cleric they met in the ruins of Kelmarane- a half-elven cleric that assists adventurers in finding all the "best" spots in Katapesh- Kale.

I started this campaign for my family.

    Cyndre = Human Female Wizard
    Rue = Faen Female Wizard
Then they wanted to add the iconics
    Valeros = Human Male Fighter
    Harsk = Dwarf Male Ranger

And I'll be adding another group shortly.

    Graben - Half-Orc Male Fighter
    Ricnan - Human Male Druid
    Searos - Human Male Barbarian
    Krisnys - Halfling Female Sorcerer

    Scarab Sages

Over half-way through book 3 right now, and the party is as such.

    PC - Aakief Al-Adsan - M Halfling Ranger 8
Favored enemy gnoll, trait for the bonus against gnolls, achievement feat for fighting gnolls. What's to say, this guy hates gnolls. Very "Rorschach" (Watchmen) in his methods and speech. Very simple, just wants to patrol the lands and stop gnoll attacks.

PC - Hasam Amad - M Keleshite Human Barbarian 8
An overall good guy, appearance coined off the latest Prince of Persia style. Uses a spiked gauntlet when he doesn't have the option, but his favored weapon is now the falchion Tempest, previous weapon of Vardishal. Being the Moldspeaker is kind of a change, but he's gotten used to it. Also good friends (practically siblings) with Kiira, both of which are close friends with Haleen. Also died once, but he got better.

    PC - Kiira Kerym - F Elven Cleric (Irori) 7 / Monk 1
The 'healer' of the group, Kiira isn't afraid to get into combat and throw a few punches but is also there to help mend the group's wounds. Known for helping orphans in Katapesh, Kiira became more of a family to Hasam and Haleen, and later went off with Hasam to find the wayward 'sister'.

    PC - Sahir Sayf-al-Zahrah-al-Sahar - M Keleshite Paladin (Sarenrae) 7 / Dervish 1
A very atypical paladin, light armor, one scimitar, no shield. Sahir is graceful in combat (especially with the Dervish of Sarenrae feat) and quite the diplomat. He takes the front line with Hasam and is never afraid to fight in the name of his goddess.

    PC - Taren 'Tal-Rash - M Halfling Rogue 1 / Bard 6 / Pathfinder Delver 1
Taren is an unusual sort, but the most knowledgeable of the entire group. There is virtually nothing this halfling doesn't know, and his cheers and comedic grace in combat serve to boost the party's spirits. He is also a recent member of the Pathfinder Society, having used his own leadership skills to recruit people for a Lodge in Kelmerane. His companion, Davor, started accompanying him soon after Kelmerane had been restored and the group had returned from exploring the House of the Beast. Also died once. Got better.

    NPC - Davor Xin-Talast - M Half-Orc Transmuter 5 / Pathfinder Savant 1
A careful and strangely intelligent half-orc, Davor approached Taren after Kelmerane had been re-settled and spoke more about the Pathfinders. While Taren had already joined over a year ago, it had been some time since a report was made. Davor grew interested in the town and the group's 'activities', and after some speaking with the Society was allowed to accompany them. He prefers to keep a low profile, with his rat familiar named 'Boss', allowing him to look like some dumb half-orc that talks to a rat. If worse comes to worse, Davor is not afraid to draw his own falchion, or change into a bear or something. Since joining the group he has altered his own tastes a bit and resigns himself to 'buffing' the party, though the itch to enhance his own already formidable strength and tear into the enemy is ever present.

We started in July 2009 and are now about to finish Part I. The party just cleaned out the Refuge of Nethys and will be entering the crypt under the temple of Sarenrae next.

The characters are as follows (all are level 5 now):

    • Fayedh, human rogue, searching for family history in Kelmarane; he is the Moldspeaker
    • Nadira Sodeen al Kabith, female human cleric of Sarenrae, found her lost sister Haleen in Kelmarane
    • "Weird" Al-Karum, Mwangi half-elven sorcerer, water elemental bloodline, trying to get into the Pathfinder Society
    • Jabbar, human fighter/barbarian, he's been looking for freedom

We just had our first session this past Saturday, and are looking forward to many more exciting sessions to come.

My group decided they wanted to set the campaign in Al-Qadim, so I've created a mashup of the Pathfinder and Al-Qadim settings. Their characters are as follows:

Kahir al-Sayyid abd Katapesh: warblade, a Mamluk of Katepesh seeking to earn his freedom through combat and victory
Aziz al-Rasul: archivist, a timid scholar with uncontested knowledge of magic, but for whom daily life is often a struggle
Alimah: bard, a slave girl to one of the Pactmasters; is secretly a genie trying to trick her master into freeing her
Waleed ibn Anwar: sha'ir, a master of conjuration and enchantment, he has emerged from the deep desert to take back what was once lost

    Sczarni

We finally started this past sunday, going from 1st to 3rd lvl in Howl of the Carrion King:

    Janus, Gnome Paladin (me)

Kiki and Gigi, Hafling Witch & Black Cat Familiar

Aang Klon (pronounced kl-one), Human Cleric/Monk/Bard

    and

(I forgot his name), Human Alchemist 3

so far, the action has been great, and Pugwampis make me cry :(

    We started back in September.
    Virtual tabletop game (MapTools).
4th edition conversion in home-brew world of Arth (with a haphazard smattering of deities from different settings). We only meet every 3 weeks or so, and typically have about 80% attendance. What with the conversion, digital game, and low meeting schedule, progress has been fun but slow.

    Party

Tor, 2nd level male Minotaur maul-wielding Fighter, dabbling in Warlock. Has an ugly past involving exile from home cavern-village after not fully disclosed actions related to his Warlock multi-class.

Iggy McGort, 2nd level male Goblin Rogue, shanghaied into piracy as an adolescent, searching for Haleen, his adopted sister who helped rescue him from his original pirate crew.

Izzkyndyrun, female Halfling Shaman, joined the caravan with her spirit bear, Kyrmeaux, mostly because she needed the money, and a lone halfling in the wastelands of Katapesh is too tempting a target for slavers.

Othlo Grubb, 2nd level male Halfling Ranger, on a journey of self-discovery. Running from what he considers a boring and embarrassing past, he's looking for something to guide his actions.

Veritas, 2nd level Elven Cleric of Ioun, a displaced elven noble hoping to discover clues to the ravaging of his home village, extremely knowledgeable of local history and religion, his counsel has proven valuable.

Coegi Tempestas, 2nd level male Human lightning Sorcerer, recovering (or maybe just no access in the wastes) alchoholic, joined the caravan to get away from painful memories back home, an accident involving the death of a colleague.

Lilli, 2nd level female Gnome Psion, a recent addition, rescued from a previous adventuring party, Lilli's telepathic abilities have helped to coordinate the party's combats.

    spoiler:
The party is approaching the Battle-Market, and will probably reach there tomorrow, when we have our next session, if they don't get too bogged down in the additional fortifications I've added. Having cleared out the monastery (Iggy is the Moldspeaker, wielding the scimitar, Tempest), the party moved on to clear most of lower Kelmarane. I also added a side-adventure, spawned when Iggy successfully followed Dakshi on one of his nightly excursions. He led the party to a hidden Three Jaws gnoll stronghold (not Nick Herold's excellent set piece, the Fortress of Ghouls). In lower Kelmarane, they rescued Lilli, who is a replacement for Felliped. She fit my world better, and was a more useful match with the party's makeup, though she retains the connections to the Pathfinder Society. The party distrusted Undrella, and attacked, but she escaped, and I think she will end up allying with Narg and the Three Jaws.

    Scarab Sages

Currently DM'ing a group that's about to finish book 1.

    Party Consists of:

Kyra - Female Keleshite Fighter 5 (Moldspeaker)
Navya - Female Vudrani Monk 5
Wissen - Male Elf Wizard 5 (Evoker)
Violetta - Female Varisian Cleric of Erastil 5

    Already had one member death:

Ausk - Male Half-Orc Cleric of Sarenrae 4

He got very unlucky in the battle market. While doing surprisingly well, Kardswann crit him after he noticed that he was keeping the rest of the group alive with Channel Positive Energy (saved both the fighter and the monk). Needless to say, the 66 damage crit was MORE than enough to bring him down.

Well, an update. The DM NPC (Nolan) died... Ran up to too many gnolls without everyone else and went from full hp to -20 something in two rounds. Replaced with Santrin, Fighter.

Also, Saharan is the Mold Speaker. They are half way through book 2.

I finally get to play a game as opposed to DM! We play 3.5 but will probably switch to Pathfinder for our next big AP.

Aziz Blue Eyes (human CG Wizard 6). Youngest son of a Katapeshi noble obsessed with becoming a Pathfinder like his childhood heroes. Travels in disguise to avoid his older brothers who think he should come home and be married off to further the family riches. He is a talented alchemist and potion dealer.

Ireni (elf NG Scout 3/Ranger 3). A traveler and wanderer from Varisia, Ireni is a young woman from a family of wanderers and explorers. She ran afoul of the law after she killed the son of the sheik in a fight. Although he tried to assault her, she was sentenced to slavery. She know is earning her freedom. She is a skilled archer and skirmisher, fighting with dual kukhri when not using her shortbow.

Kalil al-Mahir (human N Rogue 4/Sorcerer 2). The son of a simple caravan guard, Kalil travels with his sibling in search of their nanny, Haleen. He is a clever thief and has the blood of the jani flowing through his veins. He favors his masterwork short sword in combat and is backed by a returning throwing dagger.

Abdul al-Mahir (human NG Fighter 3/Cleric of Sarenrae 3). Brother to Kalil and also searching for his old nanny, Haleen. He is a powerful warrior with the strength of an ogre and the tenacity of a rabid pit bull. He fights with a falchion and is a skilled healer. He has become the default leader of the party. Humbly played by moi.

Conner Trencherman (halfling CG Bard 2/Paladin of Freedom 4). Born in Cheliax as a slave to a wealthy family, his beautiful voice and knack for poetry earned him a favored place as the family entertainer. He was sold to master after master when he discovered his calling as a paladin of freedom. He know has a chance to earn his freedom. He uses an unusual combination of bardic music and paladin abilities to great effect, increasing his allies' might in battle and eliminating harmful effects. He has the ranged smite feat and uses it with either a bow or thrown daggers.

Errol Flynnson - elf swashbuckler (fighter) who has never seen the desert before. All skills are urban, refuses to take anything to do with the wilderness.

Camel - Half-elf Monk/Cleric - trying to decide which she wants to specialize in. Also the Moldspeaker.

Schticky Fingers - Halfling rogue. He knows what he wants to specialize in, money.

Na Farresh - A earth elemental gnome sorcerer who always wanted to be a necromancer, but can't, since they took specialist sorcerer away. (still runs a little heavy on necromancy, though).

Darrish - half-elf ranger - gnoll killer, archery specialist. She is as afraid of the city as Errol is of the wilderness.

Josef (with a swedish accent) - a half-orc bard with a 19 charisma and no experience in this land, exiled from the far north.

We're just starting Part Three of the first module. So far, so good:)

Our group is a bunch of undead ex-slavers confined to Onyx Hall. We're almost done, though, and I still think that the ideal crew for this AP would be an all-azer party out for revenge against Jhavul and his family.

    Shadow Lodge

We started a few months ago, but have really only gotten 3-4 sessions in.

    Here's our group:

Waukim, human bard. Character is loosely based on Aladdin (Disney's singing variety), although I'm thinking he's starting to channel Elan from OOTS :)

Rylene, human cleric of Sarenrae. Pretty good scimitar wielding butt kicker, the burning hands from a cleric has been fun to see. She's seeking out what happened to her mom.

Lao, human monk from Xian. Gnoll killer and source of abstract words of wisdom.

Ardeth, human fighter who works with a flail and trip attacks. Orphan-mate to Waukim and looking for Haleen.

And we definitely hate the Pugwampis.

    LoF Arlington, TX

    • Darya - Halfling Wizard and wanna be friend of Genies
    • Farzad - Human Monk getting some real world experience
    • Roksaneh - Human Druid and assistant to Zastoran who has a lion companion named Haleen
    • Zartan - Half-elven ranger who thinks the only good gnoll is a dead gnoll. Though a pugwampi will do in a pinch.
