Druid-Last minute idea for nonshifting variant.

Hey, I know the petless druids were discussed extensively in the class discussion, but what about druids who don't want to wildshape? I've seen druids that don't care for the class feature, and it doesn't seem to be any more conceptually necessary than animal companion. So, how about the option to swap it out for cleric domains the same way AC can now be swapped?

If the character wants to play a druid, but doesn't want to wildshape, why not just play a cleric with the plant and animal domains?

I don't think of druids as being inherently shapeshifters. They have a very different spell list from clerics, animal companions (which is very different from the animal domain power), and several other minor class features, not to mention different skills, and summon substitution rather than healing susbstitution. I know some people play druids are shifters with spells, but others don't. So I don't personally consider them to just be nature clerics (well, I do, but, a more versatile cleric and a druid PRC aren't really backwards compatible or possible at this point).

Really, it's not a huge deal to any of my players, just something I thought I'd throw out there (as it seems a pretty easy fix to implement).

There is also the variant cashiering wild shape and armor/shield proficiencies in Unearthed Arcana.
