"Hey there little guy, sorry about that why don't you hang out with the froggie on his floaty?"

SQUEE!

Hops over to Margarinefrog's floaty

Malice looks over at all the splashing in the pool

Man that's a lot of pocket demons there ..

So when do we continue? The treat hinted that I have power over Time, and I'd like to know when I get to try it out.

I think we are shooting for tomorrow night, but I'd personally like to get as many who want to participate to join in. It's more fun, even if we bork up the threads.

Malice Jack raises his hands and smiles

Hey hey it's all good ..

Eyes wander over to Alaina at the bar yakking with the Dalesman.

Umm ..Where was I? Oh yeah. Hey we'll take all the peeps we can get in this brawl right?

Alaina, priestess of Calistria wrote:

Alaina takes a look at the shirt

HA! Nice .... Lemme try thish out ..

Strips her silken green shirt off and shimmies the tee on. Fortunately the young Rio was busy at the pool and didn't get a glimpse. Alaina ties the bottom of the tee in a knot so that her belly button jewel can be seen. The thin fabric of the tee leaves little to the imagination.

Alaina twirls for the group

Doesh it suit me? She poses with her hands laced behind her head.

Works for me! *nods at Acme to make he got it all on video, and the backup is secure*

You are now an offical Dark & Stormy Knight!

*raises glass in salute*

Alaina smiles and raises another Dark&Stormy

These ain't so bad. Gotta good kick ..*hic*

Salud!

Drinks this one a bit slower.

Whoo ... Anyone want some music?

Fails to notice Acme's left eye telescoping out and fixing on her movements

Lemmy is acidic. Eat some baking soda, Lemmy.

Alaina squeals and hops up and down. The Jack's Dark&Stormy Knight logo goes for an intersting ride

I LOVE acoustic mushic! I jest hadda band of Barios ..Beereiers ... balios .. Goat people from Arborea over thish weekend performing!

Weaves a bit catching her balance on the three-inch pumps

That's it for me tonight, I'll be sure to post during any batlle though.

It's all good, I think most folks are AFK, as I will be soon ..

OK I am signing off, but I made this >>OOC THREAD<< to coordinate the upcoming Ragnarok. Sound off there if you want to do the big batle tomorrow.. Night all!

GRRRRR......The minute I decide to actually take part in one of these things, everything in the universe has to happen to keep me away from here. Anywhoo.....sorry for the absence, I've been slammed this morning. Let's see if I can squeeze in some time to play today. :)

The Dalesman has been lost in thought for hours, as people and events wheel by around him

Let it not worry you. It happens to me all the time, though usually for years.

The man in the garb of a military officer returns, looking slightly guilty. He has various scrolls and books tucked under one arm.
I gather that the open season on heroes started today - which may be why Candle Lighter has not moved against you in force yet - and thought I'd drop by to check if any of you have actually studied the powers and vulnerabilities of regular dracoliches? Although Candle Lighter is far from one of those.

The Exchange

Hey boys, mind if I join the hunt? I have a few scores to settle with Candle Lighter, and I'm not above violence for it's own sake either.

The man begins spreading books and tomes around the private bar area, brushing stray glasses from last night aside.

"I believe it. Some things just take a while to sort out, I suppose."

Does a double take at the green silk shirt lying carelessly draped across the back of a chair nearby. Looks around again, eyebrow arched.

"Does Alaina always go through clothing this fast?"
notices the music, and the swaying to said music (or is that the alcohol?) of a certain priestess in pumps.

"Ahhh - nevermind, answered my own question. Methinks this isn't going to end well..."he says with a chuckle."You travel with interesting friends, Emperor7."

I'm not sure if those tomes will help. This battle has taken on epic proportions.

The Earth senses division.

Some more 'interesting' than others. The Fire Flower is newly awakened. She is unsure of her power.

The normal dracolich, the sages are all agreed, are immune to spells which change their shapes against their will, to the elemental power of electricity, and to the chill of supernatural cold. Depending upon the bravery and fortitude of the observer, most have a chance to paralyse you, should you happen to meet their gaze, or if they claw or bite you.
They can command lesser forms of undead, whilst their own minds are immune to most wizardly or clerical charms and enchantments. Bein creatures that do not live, they are immune to disease, and most necromantic energy simply makes them stronger. Moreover, they retain the use of their breath weapons and command a broad selection of spells.
Such are the abilities of a regular dracolich that the sages agree upon; they quibble over other aspects, and even in consensus there may be some uncertainty.
And Candle Lighter is a dracolich much more powerful and cunning than that. The spells that he commands and which he has woven about himself over the centuries for protection mean that you have very little hope of defeating him.
He has 'pawned' (although that seems a strange term on the lips) mighty heroes and villains across the worlds and decades, laying waste to cities and armies.
You can hope that you will perhaps be luckier than those who have tried before you.
You will almost certainly see some of your number slain, and perhaps raised as mockeries of life by the dracoich in the next moment to torment and harry you.
The Steel Tsar, formidable though he is, is just a distraction - he would not serve Candle Lighter unless Candle Lighter were far greater a power.
And even if you destroy Candle Lighter in battle, it is likely that his spirit will retreat to his phylactery to seek revenge against you at some later date.

The man pauses to order a sandwich.
My apologies for being so downcast with news; I am a hunter of witches by trade, and studying your enemy beforehand and having an aprreciation of their strengths and weaknesses is vital in my line of work.

"If what the officer here says is true," nodding to the Witch Hunter General in greeting "then any help is most welcome. Especially if it includes past experience in dealing with this being."

pulls out one of the barstools

"Have a seat. Name's Devlyn - pleased to meet you."

"No apologies necessary - while I've got no problem with charging in where angels fear to tread, I always appreciate a little foreknowledge to better my odds. Proferring up that kind of information isn't downcast - it's good common sense."

"Eat up and slake your thirst - it looks like we'll be here for a bit."

"By the way, Jack Hammer - nice shirts! Those can be really....lethal...in the wrong hands."

stops trying to read the logo ;P

The Witch Hunter General enjoys a plate full of sandwiches, occasionally brshing crumbs off his scrolls and tomes.

"Call me Angel," the strange woman says. "I work as the chief enforcer for the Jack cult. Candle Lighter and his minions really did a number over there and now it's my job to get payback. That and Lord Jack would really like to get Jack Hammer back in one piece."

"Heh heh, I think I could raise a glass to that. Which reminds me - I suppose I should try one of those Dark&Stormys. It would be criminal to miss a chance to enjoy something new if death is looming close by. Am I right?"

You can also call her Ace. She's the only woman to make it to 5 in an hour.

[Carefully and fairly juggling all of the conversation going on with a relaxing, friendly ease]

"I'm a little fuzzy on this whole "Jack" thing - can you give me the 'quick and dirty' on these guys? Are they awakened constructs, or something else entirely?"

Agreed. But of course the Dark & Stormys here lack the 'ambiance' of the Clubhouse hall. Nothing like a good cigar and a cold Dark & Stormy whilst Panama tells us of his past adventures.

"They are actually the living embodiement of mysogany and alcoholism," Angel says with a laugh. "Seriously though they were created by a spontanious outpouring of fun and frivolity by the gods of liberation and freedom. They are in fact the living embodiement of all that is fun and exciting in the universe, whether it is good or not."

A crate appears. The note on it reads. "I so like a good fight, here IS something to help, you can pay me back later...signed Demon lord of tribbles"

Invoice Found with note reads
*5 Undead bane longsword
*25 Lich slaying arrows
*1 holy avenger
*20 bottles of scotch

"I don't know - the 'ambiance' here seems just fine - considering all the stories about this place were what brought me here in the first place. Then again, I am used to 'roughing it' if the situation calls for it, so I'm not too picky!"

The Witch Hunter General concludes his plate of sandwiches, and pushes several silver florins across the bar as payment.
Now, a dracolich such as Candle Lighter has accumulated a good many rumours about his powers and protections over the years. One is that he has mastered an ability to derive benefit from a handful of spells if they are cast in his radius. For example if such a spell were the protective enchantment that creates a field of force about the caster to protect him, then every time in Candle Lighter's vicinity, a wizard worked such a spell, Candle Lighter would benefit from it too.

You mean that's not fun to you?

See Spell Stowaway epic feat from SRD... I'm just trying to think of some additional powers here which Candle Lighter might have.
Rumours over which such spells Candle Lighter holds sway over vary over the years. It is possible that some of the records have been fabricated by his agents to mislead hunters, or that he has some means to adjust his attunement to such spells.
