New Shackled City campaign in Golarion

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

Greetings all, the Curious Bard once again struts the stage...

This time I really need some suggestions, I mean REALLY need help here. I've been coerced by my wonderful band o' players into running another campaign and the Shackled City Adventure Path is what I've decided on. Now here's the kicker... since I've embraced PFRPG fully and want to convert everything into the new flavor that will be published in a more permanent form this coming summer, I will of course be using the Pathfinder Beta RPG in the meantime, which is not too tricky other than some feat, skill point, and class feature conversions that need to happen. What is giving me grief is the World Conversion... I was really hoping for help from the Pathfinder Chronicles: Campaign Setting but alas, despite the fact that we're all moving to Pathfinder and it's a Pathfinder supplement, the verdammt thing is completely set up for D&D 3.5 instead, so I'm a bit irritated by that, even downright irked. But I digress...

To insert Shackled City into Golarion, I'd like suggestions on where to put it, what location in Golarion would be appropriate, what gods need to be replaced with which, etc. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? Seriously, folks, any input would be much appreciated...

I know nothing of this AP, but as a whole AP port easy to diff worlds. I run savage tide in eberron and crimson throne in the realms. Both using the PFRPG rules

Simple stuff do one part at a time. Pick replacement gods, and pick a place to put the city. After that stuff really just falls into place..

Where do you want to put it?

Another note I am playing in a PF pbp SCAPE GAME using the greyhawk world but the beta rules set.

This thread may help a little

Sorry, I don't know how to make that a nice link button.
Also, I know there is some demon related stuff in that path, so you may want to check out PF#18 for the Golarian style Demon Lords. I hope that some/any of this helps.

If you want a jungle-type setting, I'd suggest Sargava.

EDIT: Here's a thread that quotes an earlier thread where Erik Mona suggested the same thing.
Golarion Map Thread

Setting Requirements: Needs to be set in mountainous region, with at least some volcanos either active or inactive. Nearby terrain should be tropical or nearly so... jungles and some farmlands. Cauldron is considered a small city, so eventually the group will need to travel to a larger city for better resources: more pricey magic items, resurrection and other high level spells, etc. So proximity of a larger city within a week or fortnight's travel time would be useful.

Other needs: the Temples in the town need tweaking, as they play a somewhat major role in the story. The four existing churches of St. Cuthbert, Wee Jas, Pelor and Kord need to be adjusted into appropriate Golarion gods... I was thinking Pharasma for Wee Jas, Iomedae for Pelor (or maybe Saranrae?) and Gorum for Kord. Don't know for Cuthbert..

Jzadirune: gnomes are very different in Golarion (which I like!)... no longer the vaguely dwarf like engineer-tinkerers, the are instead cousins of the Fey, faerie creatures displaced here on Golarion and are NOT of this world. So... first adventure takes place largely in an abandoned gnome city, full of their illusions, tricks and mechanical and magical traps, and clockwork devices. Okay... how do I do this? Spriggans? Kobolds? Goblins? Nah, goblins are too crazy and chaotic now, can't build a decent weapon let alone a mechanical automaton, so that wont' work. Suggestions?

Striders of Fharlanghn: an organization which will show up in first adventure and gradually become staunch allies of the PCs, but there is no Fharlanghn. Substitutions? Ideas?

Pelor: Sarenrae
Wee Jas: Nethys
St. Cuthbert: Iomedae?
Kord: this is a tough one, because none of the mayor deities fit well. Checking Gods an Magic, I found Kurgess (The Strong Man). Not much except that he's allegedly the son of Desna and Cayden Cailean. I'd probably just use the Kord trappings full hog.

Jzadirune: Use dwarves that follow Droskar. Toss in a couple of forge-spurned (from D1: Crown of the Kobold King) or clockwork creatures (Advanced Bestiary).
Pelor: Sarenrae.
St. Cuthbert: Iomedae
Wee Jas: Pharasma or Nethys, depending on the aspect in question
Kord: I would say Kurgess for sure.

The Striders could be followers of Desna, as Desna has the "travel" aspect. The rest of it is pretty straightforward, though I would place Cauldron itself in the Mwangi Expanse.
