Going to lunch now. Will update when I get back if any of you other slackers have finally gotten around to submitting.
Submitted mine a few minutes ago... would have sent it in before work today but I just couldn't resist some last minute wordsmithing. Hope it went through! Thanks for your help easing our panic.
Ok... I tried to submit twice before finding this post... :P
Could someone confirm if it got there? Its 1 hours to go and I need to go home :D
Casey Smith, Jacob Manley, Joao Beraldo and Mark Thomas are all in.
So it looks like no easy paring down of the field. Bother, I need all the help I can get.
I'm only counting 31 right now. I've got my fingers crossed for anyone who's scrambling to make it at the last minute.
Matthew Morris wrote: So it looks like no easy paring down of the field. Bother, I need all the help I can get.
Uh-uh, Matthew. No artificially lowering expectations so you can catch everyone off-guard with some brilliant work. ;-)
Victor Spieles and Vladislav Rashkovski are in.
Hello. Checking to confirm my post was received.
Thank you.
Three finalists and two alternates to go :)
I think I just submitted twice. If I could get some confirmation, that would certainly appease my nerves.
Thanks!

Uh-uh, Matthew. No artificially lowering expectations so you can catch everyone off-guard with some brilliant work. ;-) you have higher expectations than I do. I just made a simple <redacted> <redacted> <redacted>/<redacted>.
The biggest challenge for me was word count. At least one <readacted> was <redacted> because of needing <redacted>

I am coming to think that the REAL contest here is one of endurance for rabid web-posters ... the inability to respond to certain posts until a set deadline from folks that LOVE to post and parry :)
Two more finalists, two more alternates. Twenty minutes to go.
I'm guessing there are three very stressed-out alternates right now.
Curaigh is in. Getting down to the wire, people!
my should've been in aroun noon. confirm please.

Jeffrey Scott Nuttall is in. Gerald, yours was noted previously.
Gary Teter wrote: Jeffrey Scott Nuttall is in. Gerald, yours was noted previously. Whew! Sorry for the triple submission; just wanted to make sure it was getting through...

I do not understand why someone would risk not advancing due to a website malfunction or the like.... It was a website malfunction--OK really it was webuser malfunction it did not recognize me and I haven't actually had to type my password in months O:)
Good luck everyone!
Woot! All the finalists are in :) Now just one alt to go
Mine is in? good.
I got not confirmation message and with only 7 minutes to go I was worried about missing the deadline due to a web problem
Glad to hear it is there...
now I can get some sleep.

In a good way.
Yeah, I get that too. I hadn't really counted on getting through that first round, and now it's suddenly "I'm in the top 32! Cool!!" oh wait, "I have to write up something in 3 days! Crap!!!" :P
Jeez, this is actually more nerve-racking than when I submitted last night. I am soooooooo glad I did it then.
So, when does voting begin, again? :)

Tuesday at two pm :)
Do our villains get posted when voting begins? Or do they go up before that?

Doyle Tuesday at two pm :) and I love how the countdown says that it was due 1 minute ago
Whew! So all the finalists made it and we only lost one alternate.
Does that sound about right?
So now I just wait and see if I did something stupid and get DQ'ed
Matthew Morris wrote: So now I just wait and see if I did something stupid and get DQ'ed You're such a bundle of optimism, Matthew. C'mon...deep breaths...there, better?

In all seriousness, self sabatoge has always been my biggest flaw. I've done my best, I'll let otehrs judge.

I'm doubly cursed. If i don't edit myself, I write... excrement comes to mind. It just is some kind of shorthand for a mental concept that just isn't going to get nailed down easily. If i start editing, half-sentences crop up, words double double mysteriously, and all the other flaws of less than gifted writers appear.
Thankfully, in university there was a scientific writing course which pushed me to some degree of comprehensibility. Still, I am a horrible self-editor, and frequently end without the tools to express the big idea.
However, this time I still like the text i send in. I take this as a positive sign. :)

Wesley, when Gary said you were 'in,' I think he was talking about fashion sense, as in 'in-style'. You'd better double check your entry just in case.
heheheh.
;-)
Looks like the entry submission page for Round Three still isn't giving confirmations. Can Gary or Vic indicate if they've received an entry like last time?
--Neil
You done Neil? Way to go. I'm going to sleep on mine and submit in the morning.
I, too could use confirmation. I just made two attempts at submitting, with predictable results. (As in, no confirmation message. I even tried logging out and logging back in again, to no avail.)
Doing the same, want one final read over before clicking the fateful submit button.
I'd like a confirmation, too, please. It seemed to go, but if it didn't . . . I'm not sure I'll be back before 5:00pm.
Tarren Dei wrote: You done Neil? Way to go. I'm going to sleep on mine and submit in the morning. Yeah. I had to be. Full day on Friday. No time for additional reworking. So I "burned the midnight oil" last night instead. Unfortunately... :-/
In all honesty, Sean's admonition for everyone to get started on their stat-blocks early is what helped the most...
--Neil
Also looking for confirmation - however if it is anything other than 'Got It', I probably won't be able to resubmit (off to work).
This lack of confirmation screen is quite vexing.
Sorry, I haven't had time yet to look at the submission tool to figure out where it's going nutso. So far we have submissions from Neil Spicer, Eric Morton, Randy Dorman and Matt Banach.
Other entries might be "orphaned" and not showing up in the judges' chambers; I'll re-parent those when I get into the office and post an update here if there are any.
For what it's worth, we haven't actually lost any entries so far this season -- the only bug is that we're not setting the flag that says you entered.
Gary Teter wrote: For what it's worth, we haven't actually lost any entries so far this season -- the only bug is that we're not setting the flag that says you entered. That's reassuring, actually. And I suspected that was the case based on how it worked last round. Still, it's a bit stressful when you're not 100% certain it went through. I'm in the same boat as Matt. If the submission hadn't gone through last night for me, I'd be harder-pressed to push it through today while I'm at work. I could probably still do it. Just a bit trickier to work on that on company time.
