Before anybody can react, he grabs the book. The pieces of the goddess rise up magically.

It all disappears, along with the raven.
"Very interesting indeed."
If you guys don't want this to happen, I can change my plan. Otherwise, he will keep these. Or I can change it so he only takes half of them.

He can have the book, but the goddess is needing to be dead now plz :) So no taking all the pieces. Even if only a few pieces get destroyed it's enough to render her permanently dead.

I thought about having some of the info transferred to WJ's axeblade, but it doesn't really matter to me. We don't seem to have an endgame for all this.

He isn't going to bring her back.

What was that stuff he said about his name?

Yes, I think I can manage as long as we walk slowly. I'm afraid I wouldn't have heard anything since I was unconscious while you were all fighting.

Yay! She did mean things to me. Of course I did things to her, but they weren't mean.

I need at least a few pieces of her to be destroyed in order to render the her life energy inside LJ inert. As long as that happens, I don't care about you using the rest of the pieces for some nefarious plot.

Okay. Since I'm too lazy to edit:

Suddenly, there is a flash.
"Very interesting indeed..."
A small piece of the goddess, which resembles a badly burnt eye, falls to the ground.

3 times he mentioned his name and earning it.

Warforged are a class of Celestial servant, rarely having individual names. made up idea. WJ lied about being a Jack.

Cool idea. Okay, well, having been raised among Celestials, LJ would know that.

She frowns a little trying to remember something that she's sure she should know before comprehension dawns.
Most of the warforged don't have names. I don't know why he would have said that, though. He had a name, and as far as I'm concerned he more than earned it. I don't approve of the way that celestials so often ignore their servants as if they aren't people. And I didn't think of him as a servant. He was my friend.

Devlyn scoops up the eye into a small box (careful not to touch it), then seals it up.

"I think either Allura or Alaina can hit this with the positive energy we need. Now let's get out of here before anybody else shows up. Let me help with WJ..."

And I'm out for the night. I'm assuming that we're destroying that eye as soon as we get back to the Clubhouse or Club Calistria. He's definitely not holding on to that thing as a memento ;P

I'll see everbody in the morning! :)

Allura is not a cleric, so she can't actually channel divine energy. She can cast spells and that's about it. Allura casts Blessing of Righteousness on the peices.

I'm not familiar with the spell, but as long as there's a lot of positive energy involved it will hurt the pieces, and they can be destroyed by any normal means while so weakened.

Weakening it then pressing it to the fire seed would be the same as dropping it in lava. Or burning it in WJ's forge. That can be poetic justice.

He found a name he liked and found worthy. All Jacks should be honored. I am.

From out of the shadows walks a finely dressed being with the form of a man, but the feature of a stately heron. He wears the finest clothes and jewelry and carries an ornate wooden staff the color of bleached bone. "My lord, The Laughing Man, wishes me to offer his assistance in your quest. He can remove the threat of the dark goddess' return forever, if you wish it."

Edit: Dinner time, be back tomorrow for your answer.

Alaina unleashes a wave of positive energy on the goddesses remains

Well, hopefully that will keep her from reforming.

JH eyes the newcomer warily. Too many threats in so few days.

It is LJ's call. She is the one most hurt by all this.

For my part I think we have a plan to take care of that ourselves. And we have yet to bury our fallen.

LJ shakes her head.
Thank you all the same, but we already have that well in hand. The goddess of dangerous knowledge is gone for good. I am certain of it.

To the others,
End it quickly now, please. This is one burden I am tired of carrying. Hit it, burn it, smash it. Just do something that will destroy it now that it's vulnerable.

No problem.

JH takes the eye from the Dalesman and places it on the ground where WJ died. He smashes the eye with his holy hammer, crushing it completely. There is a flash of light as it strikes.

As the eye is destroyed WJ's body begins to glow brighter and brighter, as does his equipment. Soon the light fades and the body is gone, but before it does those in
attendance see the dwarf smile and wink.

Lynora-Jill felt an immense feeling of relief as the eye was destroyed and the life energy of the goddess went suddenly quiet within her. It was done. The goddess was dead. She could at last let go of the terrible responsibility that had been forced upon her.

She was astonished to see what happened to Warforged Jack's body. She wasn't sure what to make of it. She only hoped that somehow he received his proper reward. He was a hero and a good friend and she knew she would never forget him.

And that's what I get for not reading up on favored souls to refresh my memory first... :P

Happy Friday everybody!

Devlyn watches the destruction of the eye, and keeps an eye on the bird-headed stranger. As WJ's body disappears, he chuckles to himself saying quietly:

"Axe high, friend. Thank you for your help."

Looking back at the rest of the group, then back to the gate, he says:
"Shall we?"

Yes, let's go home. I never want to see that altar again.

Devlyn silently hopes that Emperor7 was able to do something with Izkemina's body before they get there...

"LJ, the clubhouse is still a mess from when they kidnapped you. It may not be something you want to see right now..."

"Very well," the bird-man says. "If you change your mind, his offer still stands."

"Perhaps we should destroy it too," Allura says, "just to be sure."

lynora-Jill wrote:

JH looks to be contemplating.

I understand.

He walks to the altar once more, holding his arms over it. The blood sap from his wounds fall onto the altar, seeping into the small cracks and crevices. After a moment he walks away. Behind him the altar fragments and breaks into pieces. His wounds begin to slowly close now.

I'm ready to go. I sure could use a Dark & Stormy, or 6. And a shower.

"Perhaps we should destroy it too," Allura says, "just to be sure."

"You're right, Allura. Anybody know if that's possible?" he says, looking at the others. He then sees JH go over and shatter the altar.

"Well - I guess that answers that question," he says with a faint smile.

Alaina stands near her friends, soot smirched and ragged.

Yes, let's go back. I could use a soak.

"Club, Clubhouse or Oasis then?"

LJ walks over to JH and leans her head against him, wearily.
Thank you, she says softly.

She looks like what little strength she had is fading fast.

Yes, please. I'm sorry. I'm just so tired.

Alaina looks at Lynora-Jill with concern.

Can I cast a healing or a restore?

Thank you, but I don't know if it would do any good. My wounds are already healed. I don't know what sort of spell could heal the effects of having divine energy forcibly ripped away from me.

Perhaps some sunbathing would help? You look pale.

More seriously... Should we seek out SunnyG's help?

JH is shocked. Lyn has lost so much. Now this.

You are still the Wind Champion. Mayhaps the birds can help?

I don't know. I hope so, she says feebly. She is trying to be brave, but this scares her.

We should ask them. After we rest.

Thank you. We would appreciate that. But why do you call me goddess?

Suddenly, a ghostly plant walks in. It seems tired, and weary, and sad. It is Plantjack.
"I am free...it took long, but I am free. By the Board, at last...."
He fades, and is gone.
Gotta go, sorry.

PlantJack? Or was I just seeing things?

I saw him too. This does not bode well. But not much has lately.

Thank you for your offer, Pteradon King. I'm not made for flying. And we're both pretty exhausted.

Do we get to go back to our regularly scheduled program now? ;P

Yep, we're done here. Bad guys defeated, damsel rescued, altar destroyed, everybody cleared out.
