Magic Item Spells: Dimensional Space

Magic and Spells

We have our bags of holding, and our portable holes. This is well and good. I can even see increasing the portable hole to have say, a door that opens nowhere in the house, but into another room (though no air circulation mitigates this a bit). But what about the character who wants to magically alter a space to be bigger on the inside than on the outside. Say, a caravan that is 8'x4' on the outside, but say, 16'x8' on the inside.

What I'm looking for are spells that could power this affect and possible complications of actually having one (bag of holding + portable hole = boom). Any thoughts?

bags of holding and other items or spells create a extra dimensional space in the ethereal plane. when this type of items are placed one inside of the other a rift or gate is open to the astral plane sucking everything close by in to the plane and all items inside the extra dimensional spaces are lost scattered across the planes through the astral plane. in way doing that you are damaging the ethereal plane. in effect placing two spaces inside the each other.

the same magic can be applied to create a room that is bigger in the inside but that would not be it best use. for things like that you need to consider other spells. something like the mansion spell and other similar spells.

I've been looking over the spells and it looks like the ones I would need are the ones that access other planes etc. I don't think that for example tiny hut would work well here since it's a force evocation rather than opening a door to another place. But if there are holes in my reasoning I'd be glad to back off. Building these things is going to be a pain.

have a look at old Alterations(now transmutation) from 2ed. you will find a lot of things like that. I am sure you can come up with some thing that increases space with out taking anyone outside into extradimentional spaces etc. Changing "space" increasing it etc. you would be stretching space so you could fit more thign inside of a room etc. it would be great if a wizard were to cast a stronger disper magic or disjunction. everyone and everything would be in a compacter then space would look at them and say: what do you think you are doing and fold on them.

How about going the other way? Not enlarge the space in a room, rather diminish the objects and persons and whatnot entering the room?

Reduce person is there, as well as diminish plant.

I guess you can work with that.

yep that would work too, If you look at Baba yagas hut you will see that it works similar to that.
