Does Absalom, the city, have dungeons and crypts worthy of exploration beneath it? What source books can I find the necessiary information?

Absolutely. As the previous poster mentioned, the Guide to Absalom's the best place to start, but there's a LOT of underground stuff below Absalom.

Even better, you have the siege castles. Absalom's on a religious and cultural crossroads, and as such a huge number of groups want to control it. It's been besieged countless times, but so far, no sieges have been successful. A fair number of the besiegers were putting the city to the screws for so long that they built castles in the Absalom hinterlands, and many of THOSE castles sit atop huge dungeon complexes; particularly the ones built by powerful folk like Nex. Any ONE of the siege castles can be a dungeon site as extensive as, say, Castle Greyhawk.

I got mine some time this (last) week. Can't say for certain since I recently moved and this was still sent to the old address, but when I visited today, I found a package with pathfindery goodness waiting for me. Thanks Paizo! You know how to sweeten homecomings ;-)

Liberty's Edge

my players felt the earthquake that opened up the fallen fortress and fought the troglodytes, rescued the pathfinder and returned to Absalom,
Then I used the earthquake as an excuse to have other cracks opening beneath the city leading into the "dreaming halls of the duergar" adventure by goodman games, leaving some things out and adding in other Duergar evil from Thuderspire Labyrinth and slayers guide to Duergar.

I also made the wotc hook from underdark a part of the storyline:
"a slave revolt in the Middledark city of Undrek’Thoz, enabling fifteen
svirfneblin slaves to escape. They hurried to a cavern east of the
slave city, where a prime Underdark guide hired by the fellowship
was supposed to meet them and guide them to the surface. But no
guide was there.
The freed slaves are now debating what to do. An underground
river provides the cavern with plenty of fresh water, but the
svirfneblin have no food and only a few improvised weapons.
Some of the former slaves despair of ever getting away. They
favor giving themselves up and hoping for more clemency from
their overlords than they would receive if they were recaptured.
Others want to strike off through an upward-sloping passage to the
northeast, hoping that it leads to the surface."

They end up close to the surface under Absalom. And my heroes have a chance to help them fight the Duergar slavers...
