While I like KQ, and may even think of picking up that book. This is a pretty tasteless plug imho. You could've at least linked to some reviews with substance, not 'Ebert and Roper give it two thumbs up' junk.

I hear you, Coridan. But I’m not offended. I too like KQ. Moreover, KQ stepped up when the rest of the world fell down. I'm guessing they're still fighting for a secure place in the market during poor economic times. So I’m not thinking “shameless!” I’m thinking “scrappy!”

(Oh goodness, now I sould like a commercial.)

The Exchange Kobold Press

Hey, we gave them the book, and they were free to review, slam, plug or ignore it.

But just for comparison, here's a review of Vol. 1 that's not in the blog carnival, done by a RPGNow. Maybe there's a reason it got good reviews?

Hey, I'm the author, what the hell do I know? :)

I'm pretty sure the seven guys who wrote up their thoughts would disagree that they'd just given it an insubstantial treatment.

I posted it because I knew it had been discussed here and so I thought it might be something folks who frequent this particular corner of the forums would want to go check out.

I apparently misjudged that one; you have my apologies.

I'll apologize too, not realize the images were links to the individual blogs with full reviews. To me the site you linked in the first post seemed more like a tacky trailer that threw quotes at you.

I will still contend though that plugging a book written by one of the RPG Superstar judges in the RPG Superstar forum that just had a round about that specific subject just seems inappropriate to the spirit of the contest.

Huh? How is that inappropriate? Would you rather they have advertised the book immediately before the contest, giving the impression that you had to read it if you wanted to impress the judges?

And either way, when the Top 32 are announced, I'd be interested in knowing the reasons for judges' choices. A book detailing one judge's design philosophy is directly relevant to that endeavor.
