Questions about Polymorph spells and Dragon Disciple / Draconic Sorcerer

General Discussion (Prerelease)

Liberty's Edge

This spreads into two sub-forums, so I thought it best to keep in general. In any case, I came across some oddities and unexplained things in the rules (unless I've completely missed them).

Firstly, polymorph. I've read the spells and the polymorph school about a half-dozen times and searched the forums to no avail. What abilities are kept when you change shape? For example, some things are obvious--if you turn from a draconic sorcerer with natural claws into a boar, you would lose these claws (although, this is not stated anywhere!). But others are not so. For example, the dragon disciple gains blindsense as an Ex ability. This is not tied to a particular limb or item, however Ex suggests it's something physical. Would it still work?

Furthermore the draconic bloodline of the sorcerer gives you Su wings that are "removable", so to speak. If you are polymorphed, would this still work? Same goes for the breath weapon. Can my bear now sprout wings and spit fire? iirc, 3.5 Polymorph rules lost all Ex abilities but kept Su and Sp.

Next is the natural armor bonus of the dragon disciple/draconic bloodline and polymorph. Looking in the 3.5 glossary it appears that natural armor bonuses don't stack (barkskin and natural armor amulet excluded). But would my draconic sorcerer's natural armor, if it was better than the polymorphed form's, still apply?

Lastly, the Draconic Disciple PrC seems to have some errors. The blindsense and wings are both Ex abilities. However, the wings ability specifically says it gains the wings bloodline power, which is a Su effect. Which is it? If you are a Sorcerer/Dragon Disciple, does it become Ex? Even though it is an Ex ability can you still grow the wings as a standard action? Also, blindsense is Ex--but the capstone of the draconic sorcerer gains blindsense as part of the Power of Wyrms package, which is a Su ability...

Well as you can see there's a lot of weirdness here. I'd appreciate any input on this matter.

Liberty's Edge

Just casually bumping this in the hopes that someone can offer some input here...

To make this post less useless, my thoughts are just to make the ability types of the dragon disciple match the draconic sorcerer's, but I'm still not sure about the Polymorph weirdness. Anyone?

Good questions, I hope Jason can clear some of this up.
