Well, my submission is in. I gotta say, it was tough to hit that "submit post" button.
Best of luck to everyone!
I was the same. I had created a few items and decided some were just too powerful or too complicated to submit. After bouncing the ideas off a few friends, I whittled it down to two and put it to a vote. The simplest one was the favorite so that's what was submitted.
My only worry now is the formatting I used since I copied the format that the rules use.
We will see if I get DQ'd for that or not.
Looking forward to seeing everyone's submission.

I finished mine yesterday, after hammering through a handful of concepts over the past week or so, yet it was still hard to submit. But, I think the concept is solid, the mechanics are okay, unique enough to be cool, useful enough to be wanted, and with just enough of a "Oh, I get it" aspect of it to be creatively funny.
Best of luck, but hopefully not better than me, first. *chuckles*

Hmmmm, I might have submitted twice by accident. Hope it's alright. The computer glitched the first time and I had to go back in. I only pressed sumbit once, so hopefully it only went throught the second time.
Our system should prevent you from submitting twice with the same account. (And submitting twice with *different* accounts would be illegal.)

My entry was sent in earlier.
Now to start brainstorming my villain.
Hope everyone has a good holiday season. I'll be hanging out watching the mad rush towards the January deadline date...that is when I'm not outside shovelling snow :P
Guys i just about cried sending it in. I was super nervous to hit the submit post button. How do you know if you advance?

As far as I understand it, after the January 2nd deadline the judges will mull over and pick the top 32 items which will advance to the next round and post those then.
Should say that all in the main page official rules.
All I can say is no matter how nervous you are at entering....the feeling is far far better than not entering and kicking yourself later. (I was quite the miserable guy for days last time after I decided at the last moment not to enter because 'there is no way I have a chance')

How do you know if you advance?
We find out on the 20th of January, when they'll announce it on the main RPGSuperstar page. Now you get 44 days of hemming, hawing, wondering if you accidentally allowed a typo to sneak in...like the rest of us.
On the upside, Pathfinder Open call for #19&20 is announced in five days, and hopefully #21&22 will have a call before then-- which should give you opportunities to distract yourself.
But Keith's right, you don't want to get caught short on time for later rounds...it's not a bad plan to start brainstorming villains now, and then scrubbing them later if you make the next round.

Now, I am not a lawyer, but it would have disqualified you, I think, if the announcement was made before the deadline for RPG Superstar Round 1, since it would have made you published with Paizo in their Pathfinder or Gamemastery lines, on the cover. But, since it would occur afterwards, unless I missed something, then it shouldn't be able to disqualify you after the fact.
Of course, as I said, I am not a lawyer, plus I am not the one who would decide such a thing, that's the Paizo folks, I'm just making my best deduction.

But given that the end result of RPGSuperstar is an Adventure contract, and an Open Call gets you an Adventure contract... I'm all for writing by any means. :) Are Pathfinder Society Adventures considered the same as Pathfinder Adventures? Really, does it matter? Tell you what, if Josh Frost wants a gung-ho writer ready to launch into PS#19, I'll happily leap right into that!

The PFS open call shouldn't disqualify you - in no way does it count as having your name on a major rpg work, as hardcover, or as being a full-time employee of the company.
I can tell you I know of a few PFS authors who are submitting for Superstar.

Nope. You might also note that the Paizo-related author restriction is this: "Designers who have cover credits on *print editions* of Paizo's Pathfinder or GameMastery products are ineligible." Since Pathfinder Society Scenarios are available only in PDF form, writing one does not eliminate you from RPG Superstar.

*grins*
I knew there was one other reason, in the list of reasons why it wouldn't disqualify you, that I was missing. *chuckles*
Awesome to know, too, for those of us who entered.

When the competition was first annouced I had an idea straight away. I thought on it for a bit and started writing it up. Then I had another idea, wrote that one up too. Then I just kept having Ideas thinking this is definately the one to use. So finally I had to make a decision as to which one to use and submitted on Monday night. It is really hard to judge your own work ready for it to be judged by others.

I succumbed and entered a very old item myself, my first ever stab at this sort of thing.
Everyone I know loved my item, so thinking I have "the" item, I typed the sucker up and sent it.
Then it hit me, they are all as twisted as I am.... I just have to hope the judges are then, eh?
Good luck to everyone who entered

It was weird..
My wife and I ordered some take out one night and instead of the usual message inside one of the fortune cookies...instead was written a magic item name and stat block.
I took that as a subtle sign that someone wanted me to enter.
That wasn't a stat block. Those were your lucky lottery numbers. You entered the wrong contest!

I submitted mine a couple days ago as well... and yeah it was hard to hit that submit button all right... but, it's over and done with and I feel good about my little creation. Now it's just a waiting game.
I'd also like to wish everyone the best of luck with their entries.

Just submitted a little something - i hope it got there alright, since the system still offers me to "submit an item" - and takes me all the way to the editor i first used.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed it went through - I don't want to resubmit on chances of voiding my entry entirely, but some "thank you for submitting" screen coupled with a "you have already submitted an item" error would have pushed up my confidence here.

This is a bug in this season's software that I haven't yet had a chance to check out. If you're not seeing the "thanks for your entry, good luck!" message, go ahead and resubmit. You won't be penalized for a double entry for the same item.

I had a wave of fear clicking submit, as if my subconscious suddenly screamed "Not Worthy!"
I liked my item though, and already had such a cool concept design for a boss and lair as a result, so I already won as my players are in for quite a surprise.
I can't wait to share my idea once I find out if i made the first cut or not.
