Chronicle Errors? [SPOILERS]

GM Discussion

The Exchange 5/5

Hey, I have found some possible errors on several of the Chronicles and a little bird told me that there's hope they can be fixed (if I'm right). This has to do with the value of the scrolls available on two Chronicles. There's three possibilities; A) the scrolls were prepared at a higher level than the minimum but it was not mentioned on the Chronicle, B) the cost of the scrolls are for the arcane versions of divine spells or C) the cost of the scroll was miscalculated. The possible errors are as follows:

Silent Tide:

Spoiler:
scroll of cure moderate wounds, scroll of cure serious wounds

Mists of Mwangi:

Spoiler:
scroll of cure moderate wounds

Sorry if there's an obvious answer here that I'm missing, but I just can't figure it out.

Hi Doug,

Just checked the SRD, and the arcane version of these spells is just listed before the divine version. Suppose the authors just took the first occurence, the arcane (bardic) version of the spell is correctely listed at 200gp.

GM adjudication: if anyone would purchase one of these scrolls, I would consider them caster level 4, and I would consider also that both arcane and divine versions are available for purchase from these Chronicles.

The confusion comes from the fact that in a 'past campaign' the distinction between arcane and divine scrolls was abolished (for sake of simplicity), but this difference is still applicable when we use the SRD.

This means that when a spell scroll may appear on both arcane and divine spell list, arcane and/or divine (scroll) should be mentionned.
Also when a scroll is not minimum caster level, the mention CL (CL4 is this case) should follow the spell scroll description.

Please forward this post to someone in charge of 'directives to authors'
I don't know how to reach them.

Hope this help...

It seems we used the arcane scroll costs on that scenario rather than the divine scroll costs. Rather than see this as an error in price, you should view it as an error in the scenario for not explaining why Nessian would be carrying arcane cure scrolls.
