Aren't you a tease?

You know, in most cultures, the things you did are considered wooing. In some religions we're probably married already.

And, you know, I have the right to choose my own religion!

In order to preserve the shredded remains of my sanity, I've avoided reading most of this thread. :) If it's not already been suggested, why not give the player a bonus character trait? Not too unbalancing, but useful and keeping in step with the Pathfinder spirit.

I dunno, make up something equal to half a feat like the other traits in the free web enhancement. You could just rename one.

Oh, BTW that's green _Kobold_ ;)

How unfortunate- we can't be having that, now can we? ;)... here, have this view. Maybe you want something more traditional. Or maybe you're just "stuck" for something to look at.

Which reminds me- got to finish up this pseudo-scientific experiment that I've been planning...

"the whole is always more important than its part" is Asmodeus propaganda... "the needs of the many" is for things they really need to survive and have a decent life... and don't try to say thatis one of your base needs...

and no, sorry, steal is wrong... but i can convince them to donate to the poor in proper charities and with the proper incentive... lets say for the good of their soul and me forgetting their sins... because I know them... all of them... and they can't bluff me.

and I survive through donations... (dead orcs also donate, you know?)

I cannot tell those orderlies apart. Don't really want to, either. But Ole Asmo at least gets some fun out of the whole being-uptight-thing.

Call it wealth redistribution, then. Or, if you want a more orderly name for it, say "taxes".

Taxes (and related expenditures, such as licenses) are nothing more than legal and sanctioned bribery to do what you are supposed to be able to do anyway.

Never to mention them forcing us to pay for crappy TV stations even if we never watch them.

You mean those PBS stations? Well, one good thing they did was to show nudity sometimes (this was way before cable television came out). ;)

And here I was hoping for more tentacles. ;)

U sank my Nice Boat wrote:

Not quite: I'm from Germany, where everyone with a TV is required to shell out about 18€ (25$) a month for the public TV and radio stations - whether you watch them (or TV at all) or not. Even if you only have a radio (including the one in your car), you'll have to shell out about 5 Takken per month for that.

It doesn't matter if you actually watch them. You have to pay.

And the agency that collects that money.... let's just say that they don't give a damn about what's legal when they investigate people who say that they don't have a TV (they can be quite offensive and officious).

Note that this is more than you'll pay for cable.

Government-sanctioned protection racket, if you ask me. "So you mean you don't need our stations? Well, why not buy them, anyway, and give us money every month, lest something... bad happens. You don't want the feds on your heels, now do you? We can keep them at bay - for a price. And they *will* be on your heels if you do not pay...."

I'm sure it's unconstitutional, extorting people like that.

the car tax is when you buy it, right?

well once a year we pay a tax for owning a car... more if its luxury, less if its old... but tax we pay. its called Tenencia.

why we pay it? well in 1986 we wanted Olympic Games but we had no money, so the Goverment asked the peoeple if they would pay for them with this... they said yes...

we are still paying it :P right now its part of a political campaign to eliminate it, because its unfair... as if we didn't know it...

actually there was a law that was going to stop it... but... because there is always a but...

the states and the county complained that they had already made plans for such money so... they could not stop receiving it... casually some high functionaries on every state or county increased their salaries and they don't pay taxes... nice isn't it?

Montalve wrote:

No, I mean annually. You pay VAT for cars normally, I think (19%), but also pay a tax each year for owning a car. It's significantly higher for diesel cars, and you pay extra in case of excessive CO2 emissions.

Montalve wrote:

Of course. It's the same everywhere. They can complain about the lack of money in the treasury and announce that their allowance will be increased, all with the same breath and without blushing or grinning like the evil weasels they are.

It's because the governments don't fear their population any more. Not enough people voting - from the rooftops, that is.

Liberty's Edge

mmm
its sad to hear that the 1st world suffer the same kind of sad issues and abussive taxes as us :S

it makes people lose hope

well.. we are used :P

but you are right... politicians do whatever they want because we as citicenz do not enough to make them fear the voters

they are public servants but see the country as if it was their fiefdom just to harvest and drain... sight...

Taxes. Mandatory TV payments. This thread has become booooring.

For that reason, I've invited my good friends from Unspeakable Associates, Inc., here. They will bring the tentacle count way up. A hundred at least. Each. And their numbers are legion. Googol. Legion-plex. Lots.
