Hi folks!

Before I make my request, I'd just like to say that you're all doing a great job on this character portraits. It's great to see the community pulling together like this and creating art based on the hobby we love. Keep up the good work!

Now, for my character request. I play Zim, a kobold bard in a Second Darkness campaign (just finished Shadow in the Sky). I've done a campaign chronicle kinda like a mini comic for every session, so I've made my own crude efforts at representing my character, but I'd love to see what another artist's take on him would be.

I would like to request this as a two part commission; one image in his natural kobold form and the other in his magically aided disguise as a street urchin. I'd like to either see a more realistic approach to depicting him, or a more cartoony style depiction. My style (if you can call it that) is more middle of the road, so an interpretation to an extreme would be fun.

For gear, images and general information, please check out the campaign chronicle. Please note the links are broken up until Galnörag relinked them. Look for the, Fri, Feb 27, 2009, 08:36 AM post and they all work from that point on.

As for personality: Zim is a manipulator and a coward. He's sneaky, underhanded and sicphantic -y'know, a typical kobold. Unlike most kobolds, Zim is not actually evil. He has a sense of honour and pride, obeys the laws, such as they are, and tries to act in the public interest whenever possible.

His bardic style is not the flouncy shirt and mandolin performances, so much as eerie whistling in the dungeon. He's the party spy and information broker, and occasionally acts as the diplomat/face (who can say no to a six-year old boy with crutches? Who?).

Anyhoo, if anyone wants to give it a shot, I'd be grateful. When my spare time chest is a little more full, maybe I can throw my hat in the ring for doing some art too?

If you're anxiously awaiting art, you can try the Hero Machine website to whip together something. Also good for quick NPCs. :D

I think I will scan it, just lemme check if I'm not getting in trouble bcause of that.

Its just this Holy Symbol of Sarenrae, I suppose the artist was asked to draw it and he did his research on the PathfinderWiki and used the one he saw there. He copied and pasted exactly that one :D

Oh, okay. I didn't recall a god of leather trousers in the pantheon.

That is a neat idea for carrying around a holy symbol though. :)

Hi, All. I hope this description isn't obnoxious. I just built a character for Legacy of Fire...a Keleshite Sorcerer with the Elemental (Air) bloodline and the Genie Blood race trait. I'm totally stoked, as this will be my first opportunity to enjoy the Pathfinder RPG rules as a player.

I've got a temporary avatar, but I'd love to see what a talented artist could do with my character concept. The work I've seen so far is awesome!!

Oh, and congratulations from me, too, Hugo!

So, without further ado, here's my description:

Nasim Haft'Simurgh: Nasim is a young man in his late teens or early twenties. He is thin, but not frail looking, having lived a life of hard work in the markets of Katapesh. A scruff of beard usually covers his jawline, but he never allows it to grow very long.

Nasim's olive skin tone, fine features, dark eyes, and jet black hair clearly mark him as a Keleshite. He prefers to let his long hair move and flow in the breeze as often as possible, but since it hangs down almost to his waist practicality usually requires him to wear it up in a turban.

His clothing consists of typical, loose-fitting garments of desert-dwelling people, which he prefers to wear in shades of white, pale blue, and light gray. A starknife hangs easily at the young man's side and he proudly wears a carved wood symbol of Sarenrae on a strip of leather around his neck, openly sharing his devotion to the Dawnflower's teachings. His other accoutrements tell of a man who is prepared for a journey into the desert and include a full waterskin and several pouches that may or may not be empty.

Nasim nearly always wears a broad, charming smile. His grin shares an inner joy that seems incongruous with the tragedies of his young life, but is as refreshing and welcome to those around him as a rare cool breeze. When that smile fades, however, and the man's ire is raised, the air around him is charged with energy, as though lightning might strike at any moment. (And it actually has, on occasion.)

It is Nasim's irrepressable joy for life, the fact that he is nearly always moving in some way, as well as his occasional tendency to unleash his inner tempest on those who deserve it, that led Haleen to give Nasim his second name, "Haft'Simurgh", referring to an old Keleshite folk tale about seven mythical bird-like creatures, known for both their benevolence and their destructive power.

Yes...both of them. take that as you will That is beautiful work, Hugo. You definitely captured her "fey" aspect.

Thanks for adding me to the list! If it's not too late to add a couple of details, there are a few things I forgot to mention (in part, because I just added them to the character). :/

I think the most representative pose for Nasim would be leaning lightly on a spear, giving the impression that he is just about to move (because, frankly, he's always "just about to move"). In addition to the starknife and a spear, Nasim also carries a sling with a pouch for bullets.

His "loose-fitting garments" would likely be the kaftan and matching pants most commonly worn in Katapesh, using the colors mentioned above. He's not wealthy, so he's not likely to wear intricate patterns or anything. Also, although his holy symbol is wooden, it is painted yellow or with "gold" paint to venerate Sarenrae's golden light.

Thanks again. You folks are awesome for doing this for us. I'll wait patiently now and try not to burst with anticipation.

If anyone has the time I'd like to have the two magic items I did for RPGSuperstar captured in a visual medium. My entry from last year A Goblin's Strand of Ears

and one I submited this year that didn't make the first round.

BRACERS OF THE BLOOD LORDS
Aura moderate evocation [evil]; CL 9th
Slot hands; 55,000 gp; weight 1 lbs.

DESCRIPTION
The Blood Lords of Ged commission these bracers to aid their agents who enforce the Dead Laws. The bracers are made of intricately worked brass emblazoned with necromantic runes depicting an evil ritual. The wearer gains a +3 deflection bonus to AC and a +3 resistance bonus against the attacks and effects of good creatures. As a full round action the wearer may invoke the ritual inscribed on the bracers causing disruptive pulses of negative energy to radiate out in a 50 ft. radius. The pulsating will continue for each round the wearer chants. While chanting the wearer can not move or take any other actions. The DC to resist positive channeled energy is reduced by -5 within the area affected by the negative pulse. Undead creatures do not take damage and living creatures are not healed by positive energy channeled from within the area of the disruption.

CONSTRUCTION
Requirements Craft Wondrous Item, unhallow, creator must have the channel negative energy ability, creator must have 5 ranks in Craft: metalworking; 27,500 gp

Thanks in advance to anyone who can sketch these up for me. I am putting together a RotRL game and want to use the art for custom Magic Item cards

I'll take these if you don't mind. I keep meaning to get back into the drawing swing, and maybe starting with items instead of full-fledged people will help. No promises on when they'll be done though. Also, no promises that they'll look liek what you want them to look at. I'm known for taking some creative liberties. You can check out my gallery if you really want to see if my style is for you.

That's very nice. I find it so hard to come up with interesting portrait poses, but you manage quite well.

Would you care to take a stab at my character? I'd love to see him rendered in a more realistic way.
