Movies That Are so Bad They Are Good

Woops, that last post I responded to was over 4 years old!

Anyway, some of the movies people are spitting out I think qualify as Awesomely Fun B-Films rather than so bad they're good.

Night of the Creeps, Big Trouble in Little China, They Live are all great movies. Bubba-hotep, while not anywhere as near as good as these films, was still a good effort.

And, I never saw Starship Troopers, so I can't comment, but it always makes me chuckle when people complain about sci-fi movies not being realistic.

I can't believe I forgot to include an awesome film that I saw recently for the first time: 976-Evil. Directed by Freddie Kreuger!

I have to plug Snakes on a Plane here. Watch that movie with a huge group of friends, each with about 10 rubber snakes to throw at opportune moments, and you will not be disappointed. Don't forget to shout out the ridiculous lines when they crop up!

I agree. I attended the opening night's premiere EDIT: (for free, I should say in the interest of full disclosure) with a packed house of rowdy movie-goers armed with plastic snakes and no intention of taking the film seriously. It was probably the most fun I've ever had in a movie theater--except for maybe the day I saw The Big Lebowski.

Man, there was no one in the theatre when we went to see that movie. We were a group of 3. There was a total of maybe 12 people in a 100+ seat theater including us.

I just remembered this one:

Ghosts of Mars: Earth has colonized Mars and the ghosts of the ancient Martian possess people and turn them into zombies. They can only be stopped by some chick cop and Ice Cube, a major criminal, who team up to fight the zombies.

Wasn't that the second collaboration of John Carpenter and Alice Cooper?

Here are a few of my favorite BAD movies....

Return of the Living Dead I and II.
Return of the Killer Tomatoes
Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death
Killer Clowns from Outer Space
Krull
Toxic Avenger

Hobo with a Shotgun...Rutger Hauer at his cheesiest playing a homeless man killing every member, with extreme violence, of a mafia type gang so he can mow people’s lawns in peace.

+1 On Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death

Also,
Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Are we going to start naming horror movies now (or is KCfOS horror? beats me)

Gingerdeadman and Jack Frost (not that ridiculous Christmas movie where a singer possesses his son's snowman, the other one, where a serial killer possesses a snowman). Also, Jack Frost 2: Revenge of the Mutant Killer Snowman. Which takes place in the tropics. I kid you not.

It's based off an old book

In the same way blade Runner is based on Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep.

Which is the name of a classic Twilight Zone episode.
You're thinking of "I Sing the Body Electric", the one with the robotic nanny.

You're right I am. Was that also from a Phil Dick story?

Got to see "My Name Is Bruce" at a hole in the wall theater in Chelsea and after the movie the Man himself showed up. Good times. He definitely is a master at giving his fans service.

Screenplay based on a short story written by Ray Bradbury, based off of a poem by Walt Whitman.

Teeth about everyone's favorite subject dentata.

OK in the should see category but i am not sure if they are bad:

Repo: The Genetic Opera

My Wife just reminded me that Remo Williams: the Adventure Begins needs to be on this list.
