Hey everyone, it's taken me a while, but I've finally put together a homebrewed adventure for Pathfinder. I am looking for no more than 5 people (since I have one already confirmed). We will be gaming about once every 20 days (which averages out to three times every two months) a few blocks down from Compleat Strategist on 34th, close to the Lowes' Theatre. We are considering running this game on Wednesdays and will need players who are serious and consistant regarding their game attendance.
Adventure Overview:
About five years ago, the City At the Center of the World recieved it's newest curiosity- a Garundi nobleman by the name of Haloush. He slowly became a source of amusement as he cultivated a reputation for always betting on the wrong horse: each and everyone one of his business ventures failed. The silks he attempted to ship from Tian came in boxes that were poorly waterproofed. The antiques he procured from Osirion ended up being nothing more than crates of brightly colored sand. His foray into selling magical items almost got him killed as a host of irate customers bearing cursed items stormed his home demanding compensation. At the end of his rope, he was forced to sell his original estate and move into a smaller one in a shady part of town- and in sight of the Puddles, no less. However, not all of his investments have been fruitless- a few months ago he got caught up in a fad that saw the well-to-do outfitting young adventurers with quality equipment in the name of helping the less fortunate achieve their goals- and the PCs were Haloush's charity case. Now he has sent you a summons, requesting your presence at his manor to discuss an expedition to far off Alkenstar...
Character Creation:
Allowed Races: All Pathfinder Beta.
Allowed Classes: All Pathfinder Beta.
Allowed Alignments: Any save Chaotic Evil.
Starting Level: 1.
Stats Generation: Roll 4d6 7 times, each time dropping the lowest die and then dropping the lowest score overall. Arrange scores to taste. Each player will then have 1d3 bonus points to distribute amongst their stats.
Hit Points: Hit points will be determined using the "Constitution" method as described in the Pathfinder Beta book.
Other house rules will be discussed at the table.

That's a good question. I need to contact our host to find out what day would be good for us to start. As for time, I think we'd be good if we played from 7 pm to 11 pm- That's a good 4 hours, people will have time to get there from work and leave early enough so that we can all get home within a few minutes of midnight or so.

Okay, we have a start-date: The Wednesday after Halloween, September 5. Now all we need is more people! We offically have 2 players, we need more.
Dude we're in October. Time travel? This game is already awesome!

I would be interested in a game like this. I am on the Upper West Side. I have not looked closely at the Beta rules yet, but I do love all things Paizo. Would November 5th be the first session? Would we handle character creation at that time? Or should we come with character in hand? What is the party composition so far? Should we convene for a meet and greet before hand for party preparation, so that we can jump right in on November 5th?

This sounds like a blast. My plate's pretty full at the moment, and Wednesday nights are NG PFS nights. But to play every 20 days seems reasonable. I'd be eager to play a non-published Golarion adventure as well. When you throw in that this is just a few blocks from my office, I'm all in! Consider me enlisted.

I really hope you'll be able to be our fifth, TS. We're starting November 5th, which is a Wednesday- does that work out with you? I'll understand if you miss a game or two since you're coming from upstate, but I'd like it if you could be a semi-regular part of the game.

So I definitely won't be making it to the character creation session, as a result of the fact that as of Oct 31st 4:19 EST, Xavier Gabriel Nathaniel Thomas, (my firstborn) joined us the material plane. He weighed in at 7 lbs 11 oz and measured 20 inches,(and that's 2 1/2 weeks early).
Both mother and son are doing well.
I've spoken to Freehold, (in fact he was there at the hospital the whole day, you rock man!), and we came up with a reason for my character's initial absence and he's figuring his entry point.
Look forward to gaming with you all around the 4th session or so, (End of december/ beginning of January)

It's looking like Wednesday, November 5th at 6 pm. We will be done by 10, so no worries about missing work, Baron. We are focusing on character creation and going over house rules, so the mood should be light and airy. I will be walking with lots of stuff, so don't worry if you forget your books or anything- I'll be able to supply everything you need to make a character down to the character sheets. Don't forget to call the phone number I sent out in the e-mail if anything changes at the last minute. Don't worry if it does, I should be available all week if someone cancels.

I just did reasearch on your familiar, Yoda, and it seems we will indeed have to homebrew it. I am sticking with the +1 to your AC for the master benefit, and we will give it stats for a small monsterous caterpiller, perhaps with a higher AC and a few more hit points. I'll check out pathfinder's rules for creating vermin- I didn't realize how stuck I was in the 3.x way of doing things until we started doing character creation last night. I look forward to your expertise, Yoda.
