Siege Rules question regarding PFS

Does the specific ban on siege weapon rules prevent characters from making improvised Rams (from fallen logs) as per Ultimate Combat?
Seems like the additional resources would ban this, despite how practical it would be for many common adventures.

Also, Is the "Fight Weapon Group: Siege Engines" banned?
Doesn't seem to be banned...

I'm not sure if the Fighter Weapon Group: Siege Engines is banned, but considering all the weapons in that group are, why would you choose it?

They aren't banned entirely:

It would be like selecting a Ranger Favored enemy that you rarely face, like a Dragon. There would be some situations where having the extra attack and damage could be really helpful. The fighter is just banned from bringing them around with him/her, which is entirely reasonable given the nature of siege weapons and siege battles.

For creating your own stuff in game, that will be a GMs call. I'd probably allow it but just give some arbitrary bonus.
