Okay, I know that it's on the 14th, which is Thursday, but is there a time I shoyuld look for it to go live? I'm very eager to get my hands on it since that's when I get to start playing Pathfinder instead of just being the GM.

Sometime in the morning, US time. I say US time because although I'll be here in Bellevue, I'll be working Eastern time zone hours to support the folks actually at Gen Con.

What about the print editions?

Happy, happy, joy, joy.

Its hard to belive its here already! Can't wait! I must say I'm more excited about this ruleset than I've ever been. I believe in the setting, the game, the fixes to 3.5. And, ....something about sticking my middle finger up at wotc excites me.

FOR THOSE GETTING THE BOOK AT GEN CON: Please be sure to wear your PAIZO shirts and explain PRPG to everyone you meet. Tell them, "3.5 Never Dies." Tell them, wotc isn't the only game in town (literally).

I know you hear this alot and it might be getting old, but Thank You. We appreciate the work you (and the other staff members) do very much.

BTW, what's it like with everyone gone? Do the halls echo and is there finally enough room to have rolly chair races in the hallway?

There is -always- room for rolly chair races. Always.

I likes the cut of your jib, my man. reminds me of my own motto: "frisbee is never a waste of time."

I do my part. I save all my Paizo catalogs they send with my orders and include one in all the EBAY items I sell!

Worst thing they could have done at my work: give us rolly chairs.

So between 6 AM and 1 PM here in Utah.

Yeah, at about 8:01 EST the server is going down due to overheating as 25000 people try to download at the same time. What can ya do?

GOOD LUCK, PAIZO, AT GENCON.

I live like 30 minutes from Paizo's actual physical warehouse.

I just want to show up at their door and be like "Where's my stuff? Hand it over. WANT TO PLAY NOW!"

I can only imagine that wouldn't go over very well.

It'd go over better than my other plan: Show up at Lisa's house at 12:01 AM tonight and be like "It's release day. Get your keys, we're going to the warehouse."

You know, for security, they have an actual golem. It's true!

A bit of clarification: The Pathfinder RPG Beta has been shipping to distributors for a week or so now -- we trust our distributors to respect the street date for our products. That's tomorrow for the beta. We started shipping customer orders for the print edition today (there were a couple pallets-worth of beta orders waiting to be picked up in our warehouse when I left the office today).

Your "digital asset" for the alpha will be replaced by the beta sometime tomorrow. (So if you want to grab a copy of the alpha to compare it to the beta, DO IT NOW.) My goal is to make that change sometime in the "morning" US time, but supporting Paizo staff actually at Gen Con is my top priority. I don't think we have any crazy show-stopper bugs with the booth software, but if we do, fixing them comes before making the beta PDF available.

PS: Those of you who have been munging URLs from "pathfinderRPGAlpha" to "pathfinderRPGBeta" in an attempt to get access to the PDF earlier: I salute you, but nice try. :-)

Thats true, they keep a good system (3.5 instead 4 and 4.5 nearly) with new ideas and fresh blood. The Adventure Paths are incredible awesome too far of those in that the text was "open the door and see a skeleton keeping the treasure. Well you re-kill it and take the money, next door..."

Its like playing an amazing movie in which you and your party are the main characters. I only can say "I love it".

I have tons of them myself. I grew up in Pojoaque. So I was dead center of all the states touristy things, Taos to the north, Santa Fe to the south, Los Alamos to the east. All through high school I worked at the grocery store and during the summer its filled with nothing but tourists from all over the world. People from the rest of the world always seem to have a good idea of what to expect, its only the ones from the US that are concerned about being scalped or want to be given 'indian names'

One that note: "Do you accept American money, or do I need pecos?"; This asked to a gas stations attendant "Cust:Why do fly our(American) flag over yours? Attendant: Because we think your country is do much better."; These happened to my Jr. High school teacher. An earthquake happened in Mexico his daugther called and asked "Dad are you okay? We saw there was earthquake over there."; During a summer break he went to compete in a race in NY. After the race they went to dinner, but instead of changing clothes decided to were his jumpsuit. He walked into the resturant and was soon approached by a woman who heard him ordering, "My you speak english well, for a mexican". And finally his daughter came to visit him. After she arrived she asked, "Dad where those tall cactus, and why is there grass instead of sand?" He had to explain that this part of NM is on the High Plains. And that the cactus she was referencing only grow in Arizona.

Slovakia here!

In a month, though, I will be in the U.S. for the long-term - hopefully that will mean easier access to RPG products including physical ones.

Assuming a 8am release....that is 2am in Australia. I wonder how understanding my husband would be if I got up at 3 in the morning to download something??? Well, what he doesn't know won't hurt him.

Yeah I thought the same thing... but I know my wife won't be happy if I did that. Only saving grace is that if it does release at 2am, then I may still be working, as I usually finish up just before so as to be in bed by 2am if I am having a late one.

lol Those are awesome!

Pojoaque often hosts what we call '8 Northern'. Its a gathering of the 8 major native american tribes of northern NM. Its a huge event, lots of traditional dancing, cooking, and ceremonies. So this family had come to see it and when they came in to the store (we were located right next to where the event was going on) the woman asked me why she hadnt seen any walls around Santa Fe or Albquerque on her way here, how can we defend ourselves from indian attacks? At the same event a different year a man asked me where he could see some indians... One asked one of my coworkers (a 15ish native american girl) if she could give him an indian name. She got very confused and had no idea what he was talking about. It was one of the funniest things Ive ever seen. There was also a man who was suprised to see we had cars and the like. Turned out he was expecting to see what he sees in Westerns on TV. One of the funnier ones was a woman who wanted to take a picture of my coworkers and I (one of who was white, couldnt possibly be more blonde haired and blue eyed) because she was happy to see Mexicans. She was so excited none of us had the heart to correct her.
