Changeling: The Dreaming

Other RPGs

Any experiences, approaches, adventure ideas?

I'm working through the sourcebook and wondering how to approach this...

I'm actually getting ready to start a Changeling game tonight. I have all the books frm 1st and 2nd editions so I have a lot of resources. What I did first is decide what was playable. I'm sticking with only the Kiths from the main book and maybe a few merits and flaws from the players handbook. I'm going to start with the sample adventure from the 1ed main book then run the first module from the Immortal Eyes series. I'll wing it after that.

The things I'm looking at for my group is what aspects of Changeling they enjoy. Do they like court intrigue, being Chimera hunters or a constant struggle between the real world and the dreaming. What feel you're going for. My guess is that my group will enjoy playing more on the fey side with a lot of chimera and interacting with the dreaming and such.

You guys look into Changeling: The Lost?

Much better System and a Much better Story over all, It fits much better into WoD.

You can check out the Quick start here.

Yeah I own it. I looked through it a bit but not really into it. I never switched to the nWoD. I have almost all the books for the oWoD and am more familar with it. And really I like that Changeling the dreaming is like WoD "light".

to Each his own..

I prefer to new rule system, it is much smoother then the old... and I think the overall stories are much better per core rule book, except for Vampire, I prefer oWoD story over the nWoD story.

I always Hated Changeling in oWoD , never seemed to fit, I think the new one is much better.

Now if only i could find player...;-)

I like Changleing; my changling was a nice change from playing a Garou all the time. Changling the dreaming is so fantasy based that game ideas just abound for any fantasy context and when mixed with the other systems you can add all the horror or whatnot you like.

I got Changeling: The Lost just this weekend after I read that it won the "Best Interior Art" ennie award. I haven't gotten a chance to fully read the rules, but it looks gorgeous.

hey joe, always nice to see an old school changeling fan.

Ok, before i can really offer to much in the way of advice or ideas, i'll need a couple of bits of infomation.

Can i ask, what theme and mood your going for. Any motifs your including. If you have run Changeling before and if the party are to be prodinantly seelie or unseelie, or if they are to be balanced between the two. Oh and where your setting the game.
