Devil's Cape, by Rob Rogers

Books

I just finished reading Devil's Cape by new-comer Rob Rogers. It's a dark, gritty, super hero story, more along the lines of the newer Batman movies, instead of the tongue-in-cheek Spiderman stories.

And the book is out-fraking-standing!

Devil's Cape is a ficticious city in Louisiana, and the book tells the story of the city and how it's seedy history impacts the city, and its heroes and villains today, as much as is is about the heroes and villains themselves.

It's a great read. I was pulled right in to the setting. I was excited, disturbed, touched, and amazed throughout the unveiling of the story.

It was published by Wizards of the Coast as part of the now defunct Discoveries line. I hope Rob Rogers can find a way to follow up on this story with another publisher, because I want more!

Has anyone else read this?

I can't believe that there aren't more people on this board that's read this book.

It's a really great read. Someone's gotta go get it and back me up on this.

:)

I enjoyed it as much as you.
Someone on the boards had reccomended it, though I don't remember who or where. I picked it up a couple of weeks ago and read it over that weekend. I followed it up over the holiday weekend by reading the 'Wild Cards' campaign book for M&M. The two synch well together.
