Second Darkness Companion

Pathfinder Player Companion

Liberty's Edge

It's exactly what they promised. A Player's Guide with twice as much content. There's a lot of excellent material in there, my favorite being the overview of Riddleport. The player-friendly info and gossip is always a plus, as it gives players chomping at the bit a chance to "acclimate" themselves.

Mike McArtor's address/sign-off was very bittersweet. I don't fault him for doing what he has to do, and we certainly have more material from him to look forward to. Nonetheless, his everyday presence will be missed.

I'm really excited about this adventure path, and we're only halfway through RotR!

I hope I wasn't too bitter in it. I don't remember what I wrote. ;)

Oh, DETAILS.

LOL! Probably "bittersweet" as in, it's sad to see you go from the day-to-day stuff, but we liked having you here, wish you luck, and hope to see your stuff again. Just a guess... ;->

That's the way I read it.

the sign-off made poor mactaka cry...now there's salt in my gears (see avatar).

I do really like the change in direction with PfCompanion. Love the additional game material and fluff.

What i really like in all Pathfinder products, the RPG, setting, companions, gazeteers or whatever, is the general feeling you have while flipping the pages.
You have a feeling of harmony, an atmosphere of an environment, a world, a concept.
This is exactly what a roleplaying game book should be.
You should have this feeling of immersion, combining the crunch with the fluff.
Like when you read a good book or watch a good movie.

Good job. Very good job.

The Companion is completely awesome - now I just have to get my players to buy it!

My one negative comment is that "Luthier's Rapier" is vastly vastly under priced. Should be something like 21K instead of 5K.

Ugh... that it is. Not sure how that slipped through the "filters." A +1 holy rapier in and of itself should be 18,000 gp plus some change, and the once per day bonus to Charisma and saves an ability that's pretty potent as well. Even the exploding gem is pretty bad-ass even though it breaks the rapier in the process.

I'd actually price this one closer to 25,000 gp, or maybe even 30,000 gp.

I hate to add just another gladhanding post as your heads have to be the size of the cyphergate already...but I'm also slowly making my way thru the RotRl AP and now I'm chomping at the bit and foaming at the gills for this one....I purposefully avoided pouring over the CotCT players guide so I wouldn't freak out....but damn man!

That used to be what the Forgotten Realms had

I thorohly enjoy the companion and it makes me VERY tempted to subscrbe for the lot of them. I have had alot of use out of it, and even made Lavender Lil and her story a part of the plot of my SD game

Spoiler:
the pcs ended up working for Zincher after eliminating Saul and one of their jobs was to find her and Orik for him, and since Clegg knew she was in town she came first, And a pc actually protected her and got him off her back :P
