Even better ... I should get that one sooner, rather than later. ;)

One, I guarantee, will be Kyra.

And since the first adventure starts out in Solku, which is where Seelah became a paladin... she's a strong choice for #2.

And I'm tempted to make #3 and #4 Seoni and Merisiel.

I'll suggest that Seoni's getting over-exposed. She's in sooooo many illustrations.

I didn't consider her as that "clingy," myself...

Yeah...whenever I read "Sarenrae" my brain changes it to "Saran Wrap"...
Just for the record... it's pronounced: SAIR-in-ray. When we first started doing Pathfinder stuff, one of the editors here kept spelling the name Saranrae, which DOES encourage the blasphemous mispronunciation... I had to scour that from his mind with the lash.

Fear my Saran Ray!

The simple reason for that is that for a long time, she and Valeros were the only iconics we had. This was especially a problem for the modules, which were already 2 or 3 into their cycle by the time Pathfinder started. Which heavily skewed the art in at least the first five or six modules, I know, toward the initial iconics.

I figured that was the behind-the-scenes reason. But I'd put her and Valeros on the side lines for a bit before people get tired of them. That ensures their long term appeal as iconics. You don't want a late stage Drizzt on your hands.

I'd like to see Lini! Druids are fun! Of course she'd have just been in Second Darkness...

I agree. I'd like to see the pregens drawn from Kyra, Merisiel, Ezren, Seelah, Harsk, and Lem - the 6 who are neither fresh off a stint in the SD path nor Seoni and Valeros, who need the time off.

Hrrm. Seelah, Kyra, Merisiel, and Lem?

I think I'd go with Seelah, Kyra, Ezren and Lem, but your mileage may vary.

The problem is... a D&D paladin isn't a paladin if her alignment can be anything. The best way to fix it, I suspect, is to include more text about how to remember "Lawful Good" doesn't mean "Disruptive Jerk."

I think that's true. I have fortunatly a player whocan play paladin like no other. He's still lawful good, but not in the over the top way some are. He doesn't use detect evil on everyone he meets and spent an entire campaign adventuring with an evil monk.

To make along story short, lots of humor, best campaign ever.

Sorry for the off-topic post.

Yes please!

EDIT: While I doubt she has that sort of appeal, if Seoni turned into a Drizz't that would be awesome for Paizo. Drizz't may have enraged a generation of DMs (so. many. clones.) but he sure moved a ton of product.

Humm... then we could do that swimsuit foldout we've been talking about. Think beach balls and suntan lotion oasis side is anachronistic?

Yes, very anachronistic. Now ask me if I care.

No amount of internal logic and continuity can stop the inevitable Beach Episode.

I want one of the iconics to be a Humanoid. Preferably a Gnoll Druid with a Dire Hyena companion. Although a Hobgoblin chain-fighting Monk or a Bugbear Rogue could be neat, as well...

I wonder if the 5th AP will have *new* Iconics, or just convert / update the current twelve? 'Cause some fresh blood after two years might be cool.

Dark Archive

So have the 4 Iconics been decided yet? My vote would be to include Lini (Admittedly her being my favourite character makes it somewhat biased) as for the forth Probably anyone besides Seoni and Valeous since they are already the two most heavily used.

So, having finished the art order for PF #21: The Jackal's Price... you might want to consider that one the "beach episode." I'm saying no more about this until next year. Just wait.

What happens at a remote desert oasis, stays at a remote desert oasis!

*Start Rumor-mill!*

So the previously annouced Seoni and Merisiel hot-tub scene got bumped up from issue 42 to 21!

It looks from the cover like Valeros and Seoni made it in.

Sovereign Court

Well todays blog gave away that it would be Valeros and Seoni, that leaves Kyra since James said she's in which only leaves the last party member who I think will be the paladin.

ANYway. The cast of sample PCs we'll be going with in Legacy of Fire is close to the same mix as the originals, but not quite. Merisiel, Ezren, Valeros, and Kyra.

There you have it folks, from the man himself.

Weird. So... Seoni is on the cover to sell more copies? :D

Nope. Seoni's on the cover because when we sent the art order to the artist five or so months ago, we weren't sure which iconics to put on the cover so we just went with those two.

It should be done! But, save it for a sourcebook about the 12 (or so) Iconics! :D
