Thanks, Mairk!

Jim's life is moving pretty dern fast. I think success took him by surprise. There are so many multimedia renditions of his work, I wouldn't be surprised if the Dresdenverse got a second chance at a TV show some day.

We talked for about an hour after the interview. He's a incredibly warm, friendly and enthusiastic person. We talked about a Dresden video game during our interview and so I hooked him up with a video game publisher I know. Fingers crossed. :)

Any chance you brought up his LARPing?
My very first question, matter of fact. ;)
I still have a 5th level fighter, and Lawrence is not that far away I so should go some time.
Jim didn't go into it too deeply in our interview, but he and his son have evolved their fighting styles harmoniously to the point where when they go out together, sabers drawn, I get the feeling that they're almost telepathic, like some bass players and drummers who work together for years. Probably best to be on the same team with the two guys who have Butcher in their names, y'know?

Maybe but at one time there was 8 of us.

I met him at MACE, and he seemed to be genuinely humbled and surprised by how successful he has been. Very nice guy!

SyFy... they could make a movie?!?

Noooooo! I don't want Sharktomurphy vs. Dresdopus.

Well I meant teams with the same number of players. I'm sure your eight versus the Butcher boys would lead to Dresdenslaw right quick. ;)

Dresdopus... :) Neat.

And that sounds just like a Sy-Fy movie formula creation.

Insert inorganic substance:

Glass

Insert potentially deadly creature:

Barracuda

Glass Barracuda!

Lava Lion!

Ice Spider!

Fire Locust!

Oh, it's just too terrible.

Also a couple of us, myself included are quite good, or rather were quite good, fencers.

Getting more then two of us together these days would be a bit of a chore.

I enjoyed the series too. I waited until the leads seemed comfortable with each other and the material, and it got good once that happened.

And then they canceled it. What a bunch of idiots, considering what they waste time and money on instead of that. It had so much potential, and for some reason, when it comes to contemporary fantasy, I want to watch it and not read it.

Ah, yes, then there's that, too.

Seriously though, two great shows, guys. Well done.

Episode 49 of Atomic Array drops like the swirling leaves of Autumn. <- Set to a bittersweet score by Belgian pianist Michel Legrand. <- Who is not the belle McCartney was thinking about when he wrote Michelle. <-You know… that singer guy from Wings. <-Not the one starring Lacey’s younger brother. <- An akita named Lacey tore my right hand in twain back in ’96, severing the digital nerves in my right thumb. <-Trauma can cause people to act in unpredictably strange ways. <-Finally, a thought that has something to do with our spotlight this week.

Michael Satran is back for his third appearance on the Array. This time around, we’re talking about one of his recent adventures, entitled Unkindness. Unkindness goes where most superhero adventures don't go, and it says important things seldom said.

Eight Degrees of Separation from Atomic Array. I like it.

Working on two paintings this weekend, and now I'll have something to listen to. Awesome.

Posting here as well:

It's the 50th episode of our Atomic Array podcast, and we wanted to do it up right.

Our good friend Greg Vaughan joins us to talk about his wintry Pathfinder Module: The Witchwar Legacy. We’ve also invited Mr. James Jacobs back on the show to give us a preview of World Guide - The Inner Sea, which will be coming out in February, but before then you can always grab a copy of the Inner Sea Primer from the Paizo.com store.

Our giveaway this time includes a special treat, an Advanced Reader Copy of Pathfinder Tales: Winter Witch, by Elaine Cunningham.

Ed’s Pick: The Winter Witch

Rone’s Rant: “Every Man, Not An Everyman”

The Eldritch Mr. Shiny deftly performs a song he composed around a poem I wrote a couple years back on Paizo.com about our diverse community here. Check it out because it's a lot prettier than my recent sentence construction.

I have to rebounce and upload the episode again in an hour. It went out with our contest winner talking over Ed and I.

Of course, when I say "every man, not an everyman," I'm referring to both genders. I try and stay linguistically gender neutral whenever possible, but the word everyman was crucial to this rant.

And I think we all know I'm every woman, it's all in me...

I did a variation of the mouth that ate people. It was a well that the bad guys used for waste management. The PC's assumed a dungeon entrance and crawled down one at a time.

Six weeks was a long time to go without a show, but we really wanted to wait to line up Paizo for our 50th.

I'm glad you liked this episode and thanks for the feedback. :)

I would say it was a TPK but one player actually tugged up a climbing rope and saw the end was cut sheer and choose not to follow, as well as the final player who choose to leave with him.

I was going to ask how even the second player dared enter without some sort of rope tug signal from the other end.

I was wondering the same thing at the time. The entire plot was to keep the Tarasque from rising and to stop an evil cult. They already had a rod and could have used it too, save for the fact that the cleric who had said rod was the second victim. Ignoring the first rope he braced his own and jumped over. I even said something about it feeling light to the touch. Oh well. The Ranger and the Rouge lived. All the other 5 players went away. The Tarasque was raised and a kingdom was destroyed.
