0 level spells at will bards / sorcerers / clerics

Races & Classes

Ok perhaps I am not understanding or have misread something. I read that the cleric has "at will" 0 level spells, but there are no number limits in the chart. Bards are the same way and so are sorcerers. I see that wizards only get so many per day. The book calls them at will but also refers to them as prepared spells for clerics. Am I to understand that these classes get unlimitted use of 0 level spells? How does it work? Was something left off the charts?

Thanks for the help in advance.

What it means is that the spellcaster memorizes/selects his limit of 0 level spells for the day.

That caster can cast those specific 0 level spells at will, all day long.

If the caster hasn't "prepared" the 0 level spell, they can't cast it at all that day.

So he is limitted to the amount he can know? How many 0 level spells per day can a level 1 cleric (using Pathfinder alpha 3) casr per day?

A 1st level Cleric can prepare 3 Orisons and can cast any those three spell all day long if he wishes.

Hmm, that might be an interesting ritual for novice clerics.

A cleric of Nethys might be required to cast Detect Magic over and over again all day to "truly see the magic of the world".

Ok lets see if I got this right now....A wizard has 3 cantrips, once used, there are gone for the day. A ckeric has 3 orisons, but can throw any combination of them all day? I dont know why that was not clear to me. Can anyone help me with page numbers out of alpha test 3?

Oh, and one comment....isnt Pathfinder frigging awsome?

Incorrect.

A wizard prepares three cantrips in the morning, any three, and then can cast them all day long. This makes Light and Detect magic very, very useful.

*nods*

Clerics (spell list) and Wizards (spellbook) prepare their 0 levels just like they always have. But can cast them unlimitedly, without them going away.

Sorcerers can cast all the 0 levels spells they know without running out of spellslots for them.

The bit about wizard cantrips is on page 49 of Alpha 3, "Cantrips". The sorcerer also has the same bit, on page 42. And the sorcerer gets Eschew Materials now, yay.

And yes, the 0-level at spells is very cool. This is what attracted me to Pathfinder in the first place, that I had some ideas about 0-level spells at will and skill consolidation, and they were going in the same direction but more so.

Thank you so much for nurse-maiding me through this. I had not gotten to the wizard yet. This is frigging awsome. More and more house-type rules are making it into the gane without it becoming too munchkin. This 0 level spell rule and extra HP for favored classes is bringing it all so that the splat book stuff I like is now working in a balances way.

Thanks again to Paizo....Pathfinder!
