Grapple + Rake?

Combat & Magic

How does the new grappling mechanic interact with creatures that have Rake? It was pointed out to me when one of my PCs was grappling an Annis Hag that it couldn't use its rake, since it had to use a standard action to maintain the grapple. This strikes me as a bad thing, how can it be fixed?

Hopefully, Alpha 3 includes revised rules on rake (and constrict for that matter) that tie in with the current grapple rules. I'm imagining that they both might be re-worded to say that if a creature sucessfully uses a standard action to maintain a grapple, they get free rake attacks (or do automatic constrict damage).

In fact you NEED to be grappling your opponent in order to make a rake attack. So the answer is obviously YES: if you win a grapple you can make a rake attack in that round. (See the lion's Pounce description as a good example).
