I just checked it out.. Pretty cool.

Here's an idea.. I don't know if this is a feature available to Acrobat, but could you create a numbered list where the bookmarks are, and when you click on it.. the corresponding note pops up on the map.

That way you could search for a location by hovering, or click the nae on the list. The best of both worlds.

Because I've sometimes found the location in the descriptions before I find it on the actual map itself.

Don't know if that's possible though.

Actually, you can!

Click on the comments button in the left pane (yellow voice bubbles icon, above the paperclip icon). This should open a pane at the bottom, showing all of the comments on the page.

I believe it defaults to sorting them by Page, which means it sorts them by order of appearance from top to bottom. If you want to sort it by number, go to Sort By -> Author. Why Author? Because I put the numbers in the Author field. :-p

Find the name of building you want to locate, click the little "+" button to expand, then click on the comment. It'll bring you right to the building, star highlighted and all! :-)

Very cool!

I couldn't find the Sort Menu, just Search and Show. That might be because I'm using Acrobat 8.

In any case, most of the comments are listed in numerical order anyway. No biggie.

Very cool! Good job! I like how the star lights up.

I have made a template for the confrontation with Karzoug in Book Five.

Spoiler:
Here is a Huge stone statue of Karzoug in a action pose for the big fight after the first runeforged weapon is crafted. Print and cut.

Huge Karzoug

Enjoy

Thanks, I'm glad you like it!

Just thought I'd point out that you don't need the full Adobe Acrobat to utilize this PDF; it works with Adobe Reader, too. So if you have Adobe Reader 9 (which is free), you can do the "Sort by Author" I was talking about.

Ah, I appreciate that, but therein lies the rub.

I'm moving towards GMing with a VTT. With Acrobat 8, you can select and copy map images and it will strip out the room numbers and secret door tags. Then I can scale the map and toss it into MapTools.

Acrobat removed that functionality with Reader 9.

So I downgraded, but some would argue "upgraded" to Reader 8.

I appreciate the tip though! They way they're sorted now is hardly bad any way.

I was tired of looking at the Sandpoint map, finding the building number, then flipping through the pages to find out what building it is. So I created a PDF where you can simply hover your mouse over the building to get its info.

Sandpoint "Marked" map

Let me know how it works for you! I'd love to get feedback on how I could make it better/more useful.

Great idea Vocaldc and very useful. I DM using my PC all the time and so having somthing like this is great.

If I could add anything it would be a brief description of what the building looks like to the yellow pop-up when you click on the star. This is really useful when the PC's wonder around the town for the first time and to give them a feel for it all.

Also on my wishlist would be a link to the Burnt Offerings pdf at the correct page.

I will stop now. Its a great idea and you just got me started on the possibilities. I'd love to know how you do it?

Thanks Gr4ys. In Adobe Acrobat, I used "sticky notes" from the markup tools. Unfortunately there's not a whole lot you can do with it other than text. I'm sure there are other programs out there that would be able to do more, but I'm just working with what I know.

For example, I really wanted to have the NPC portraits pop up with the rest of the information, but alas, I couldn't accomplish it with Acrobat.

If you're using this for PCs, you'd probably want a version that doesn't include NPC data such as alignment. If you have Acrobat, you can do this yourself. It wouldn't be much trouble for me, if anyone would want that......

First thing I thought of was, it reminded me of the dancing trees in a very early Disney™ cartoon.

I redrew the Horror Tree to make it a little less boogie oogie oogie.

Definately less hula. Sadly poeple will never see the dancing one now and not understand these posts.

Must be nice to be talented enough to just 'redraw it'. Well done Russell, as always.

Here's the Wendigo standee cutout for Spires of Xin-Shalast.

Ok. I've updated the list at last. However you people have been so busy I am sure to have missed stuff off. Please let me know what and I'll add it. Also if any of the links are now broken please let me know so I can update them.

Catacombs of Wrath by Tintagel
High-Res scan of Thistletop Exterior by Tintagel
High-Res scan of Thistletop level one by Tintagel
High-Res scan of Thistletop level two by Tintagel
Thistletop Ground Floor Dundjinni Floorplan by Tintagel
Thistletop 1st Floor Dundjinni Floorplan by Tintagel
Thistletop 2nd Floor Dundjinni Floorplan by Tintagel

Those are all mine actually, Tintagel was just kind enough to host them.

Not that I take a whole lot of pride in them, compared to his maps.. but what heck.. I'd thought I'd point that out.

Hi all,
I'm working ahead on materials for Skinsaw and I've made up some of the notes from Foxglove. I've got the layered PDF for these (and could save as PSD) if anyone's interested in using them for their own notes. They're all bloody, which seemed appropriate, but that layer can be removed.

Here's a quick preview:

Let me know if you want them and I'll upload somewhere.

Maybe some font-proficient fellow amongst us would like to reverse engineer it?

Hey fellow gamers. I made a digital player-friendly campaign map for my online game. Maybe others will find it useful. It is here.

There was a series of images for the stained glass windows in the Misgivings. Can anyone find me the link?

I thought it was on Tintagel's site, and it appears to be in his video, but nowhere for download!

Ah, found it.

I'm working on the Misgivings now for next Sunday. I have to thank Tintagel once more, as I cobble together my Maptool campaign file from his maps and art. He's taken a great adventure site and given it the finest map possible.

I did the first floor of the Garrison. I didn't add shadows or number nor name the rooms.

If you have questions or want me to number and add a key I can.

Excellent, terry!

Can we get a gridless one?

The Garrison is nice. Wish I had that the previous two times I ran Burnt Offerings and the Skinsaw Murders.

(But twice is enough for any AP) Sigh..

A gridless version would be nice though.

ToyRobots, do you have a link to those stained glass windows?

Watcher wrote:

Here.

There's been a lot of new stuff... grays, care to compile? Or maybe send your existing compile post to me, so I don't have to do all the new links?

It would be really nice if there was some forum feature that helped up manage all this awesome added product value. ;)

Yeah I'll get a gridless up in a few days or so.

Grays, if you compile a new post, please catch the post after the last time you did.. You attributed some of my stuff to Tintagel (not that his isn't way better).

For my games I create a index card(3" x 5") for all magic items found during play. This adds a fun element to the game as players are awarded with an actual physical item for magic items. It also makes reference of the items abilities much quicker which in turns speeds up play. For one use items it makes inventory tracking very simple as a player simply hands me the index card when he/she uses the item. I am making these available for download for chapter 3 Hook Mountain.
Item Cards Chapter 3

When my players encounter a new creature I make them make a Knowledge Check to see if they know anything about the creature. If they are successful I hand them a Index card(3" x 5") that has specific player information about a monster. Some DMs may find this helpful others not, but they are also available for download for Hook Mountain.
Monster Cards Chapter 3

For other chapters of RotRL see my main site HERE

Apologies Watcher. I of all people should have known that as you were kind enough to share them with me before this thread even started. I will update it the next time I send this list out. Credit where credit is due.

Ok just read all the other posts now and So I'll update the list this weekend.

Nice Garrison map BTW.

Nope :) Nobody ever responded. I'll dig them out and put them on Mediafire or something. Will post a link when I get it done.

@Lumber mill maps

Uh oh.

The original image is lost, I believe.

I will try to reproduce it, and get it back up at that address as soon as I can contact the webmaster. Might be a while.

In the mean time, if you have a copy of the original and the space to host it, please do so with my blessing.

not so much with the reverse engineering but.... here's the link to the Thassilonan Font from the new host that Starfury posted! :)

So... does anyone have a copy of the lumber mill maps that were previously published. I'm happy to host them if anyone has a copy.

Luke wrote:

Fortune smiles upon us...

It turns out the version I ran my session with still exists, I just accidentally changed the file extension so it was hiding as a text file. It's a little different from the previous version, but I think it is better, in fact.

I'll have it up by the end of the night!

This is the first I've heard of this, and it's brilliant!

I have some interesting NPCs for adventure hooks, if anyone is interested. One is based on info from WoTC, one is a murder mystery, and one is an animated object that ties into the previous two. I don't have much experience with rules, so these are simply hooks. If someone would like to finish the hooks and stat out the animated object, that would be wonderful!

If you're interested, let me know and I'll post them in here.

Here's the new, improved lumber mill interior!

You da robot! That captures the ugliness of the scene nicely. Thanks!

So, no one has done ANYTHING with the last 3 instalments of this AP? Really? Especially with all the battlemaps waiting in Sins of the Saviours and the HUGE room for expansion in Spires of Xin Shalast? it's great to see so much fan-created content for the first 2-3 instalments, but did it just die off after Hook Mountain?

The reality is that many groups die out or switch campaigns before finishing an entire adventure path. Many more people have played through Burnt Offerings than Fortress of the Stone Giants.

Dark Archive

My group just played through HMM, and I'm taking a break as GM, and get to play a cleric through the first part(s) of Curse of the Crimson Throne.

That means that I have LOTS of time to create new stuff for FotSG. I promise that anything that can be shared, will be shared.

Sovereign Court

I figured that not everyone that started the AP would finish it, but there seemed to be so many talented people working on this that SOME of them would over the course of two+ years.

I'm about to start this AP for the new PRPG rules and don't have the talent nor time to do anywhere near as much work at such a high quality as what I've found here, and so was hoping to find more goodies under the Christmas tree this year perhaps.

In my case I start to feel like the battlefields become so large that some maps are not feasible for me to create. I do make paper mini designs as they come up but with Xin-Shalast (where we are now) when they get into the city it becomes so free roam it become wasteful to make a bunch of paper cutouts. I do want to draw more of the opulent buildings in the upper and lower city.
