You guys have any ideas how long an adventure of the PF society will last? 4 hours, as most od the events?
And I believe it will be one time a month, right?

I ask this because I dont have time to DM more than one game a week, and Im also running the Pathfinder AP.

Thanks,

Ney Pinto.

The scenarios are designed for four hoursish of play!

My friend hit me up to run Pathfinder Society at our local game store in Stillwater OK, since I got labelled an expert around here. So, what do I need to do?

Same here I can't wait to run these.

Email me. I'll keep your email on file until we're ready to unveil how the in-store program will work.

Thanks!

Another Finnish volunteer over here!

Just sucks that our local Huge Con Of The Year, Ropecon, is a week before GenCon Indy...

On the other hand, it allows us to focus on wrapping up Living Greyhawk. We can advertise, I suppose. And we're doing a presentation on organised play campaigns, too.

Reading the two posts about how the factions will try to control the society, I have a couple of questions (if they haven't already been answered in early posts which I haven't read yet).

1) If 60% of the player choose one faction, does that mean they will automatically win, or are you going to add up all the points and divide by the number of faction members?

2) Do all the members at a table have to be of the same faction or can they be from different ones?

3) If they can be from different factions, are they allowed to know each other's faction (either IC or OOC)?

1) I doubt this will happen...but who knows. We are still ironing out the details of how exactly Prestige shall accumulate for the factions.

2) Nope! They can be from different ones!

3) You don't have to let the other players know what faction you are from per se.

What about if 4 out of 6 players (or more) at the same table are from the same faction? Will that allow them to easily accomplish their faction goals for that adventure? Sure they still need to be able to pull off whatever they're trying to do, but they won't have as much interference from other faction memebers to hinder them.

For that matter, will adventures have goals for different factions that are mutually exclusive? For instance, if the Andorians are supposed to free a captured rebel, and the Chelaxians are supposed to kill him, only one faction can succeed, and that will lead to lots of inter-party strife (which can be a lot of fun).

I've contacted two local FLGSs to see if they'll host the events. If so, I'll send my e-mail address to be added to the DM list.

We don't have coverage, per say, anywhere yet. All details will be revealed before August 1. :-)

Email sent back awhile ago, and anxiously waiting for news of running Pathfinder Society here in Las Vegas, baby.

Liberty's Edge

Hmmm, let's see, I saw at least one person willing to run a PFS campaign at Gen Con UK this year! That sells me, i'll be definitely going now!!! A chance to play on not DM!!! It's a dream come true! And to play in the new PF setting!!! It's not a dream...it's heaven!!!

Now how do I ensure I get a seat at that gaming table!?!?!?!?

The Exchange

Add a Los Angeles-area volunteer to your list. Email sent.

Can't wait for PS, now that LG is going away!

Let's just say there might be more than one GM running PFS at Gencon UK this year. I think the Society can organize more than that! :-)

Hi Joshua,

Just sent you an e-mail officially volunteering my services in south-west Ontario, Canada.

This is going to be so awesome getting in on the ground floor!

Grand Lodge 5/5

Well, now that I don't have LG to worry about, I thought I'd take a gander at Pathfinder. I haven't really had a chance to read alot of the material but what I have seen looks most intriguing. I will be at GenCon though at the moment most the con is dedicated to the RPGA. However, I'll make every effort to drop by and give it a shot. Assuming all goes well I'd definatly consider offering my services in Central VA as I do have the pleasure of being associated with some of the cons in this area.

Emailed! And I'll be encouraging my CotCT group to sign up if they're enjoying the campaign and fancy running some Paizo stuff as well since a couple of them are really awesome GMs and that way we could all get the opportunity to play occasionally as well. I'll certainly be running home games and at my old uni RP society in Sheffield. I'll see about running at a couple of FLGS, maybe at our little local con Furnace. Ooh, maybe I could organise some games in the evening during the student RP & wargaming championships... we're not hosting this year but we could well be the year after since our wargamers keep going and bloody winning despite being repeatedly told not to... hmm... *wanders off scheming*

Though since I have little experience of these things and I could do with building my confidence in running games for people I don't personally know via FLGS games first, I doubt I'll be volunteering for Gen Con UK (assuming you need volunteers). Besides, it's not often us Brits get the opportunity to experience Nick Logue's legendary GMing :P

Ha! I shall run mad afterhours games at Gencon UK...as many as Josh lets me! He needs to make sure I don't burn out my nacells! I can't do that. I have no internal sensors online that detect my nacell burnout. Josh is a good friend! :-)

But yes - GENCON UK SHALL BE MADNESS!!!

Also popped off an email offering whatever service I may be able to provide. I already have a group that is excited here in VA.

I am extremely happy that the Society Pathfinder there, now I wonder How do you belong to it? and What do we have to those who are not native to North America?

December's Pathfinder Companion is an in-depth Osirion book...does that mean we can expect to see Companions for the other four factions in 2009? (plzplzplz)

Hi Incordio, that question depends on the type of participation you want to do in the society. If you want to DM, send an email to Josh (his email is in the first post of this thread) with what area of the country you are from and such.

If you want to play, find someone who will be DMing and sign up for their games come august, and brign a character using the creation guidelines hinted at in the blog last week/this week.

That's not a companion book for the faction. It's a companion for the country itself.

Thank you for your responses Cpt_kirstov, hare if what you say and sends the message that what I desire is to be DM, although I believe that before would have to talk to my group

Sovereign Court

I don't suppose there's any way those of us still running AOW or ST campaigns can be included in the society?

In any case, most of my group is coming to Gen Con this year and are all jazzed as we're all signed up to play in all the Pathfinder games.

Nope, no way. In fact, WotC owns all of that stuff. So super double deluxe no way. :-)

We're also not interested in mixing our cereals, either: the Adventure Paths are their own thing, Pathfinder Society is its own thing -- never the two shall meet.

What if we do not run our game out of a gaming store, but rather we have a group who gathers in a coffeehouse to the play the game with advertising for local players, etc. done online, would we qualify to run it for free or would I need to pay the 'small fee'?

Additionally, is there any word on what the fee is going to be now that we are closer to the release date?

Hi there,

just sent my volunteer mail for Vienna/ Austria.

Volunteering for Helsinki, Finland. Going to start running the scenarios as soon as they're out and I've managed to generate enough player interest. Let's see how that works out...

Sovereign Court 4/5

For all I know I am already a volunteer, though I'm always suspicious if an error has happened.

I too happen to live in the Espoo/Helsinki/Vantaa range in Finland. I would also very much like to get a list of volunteers in this said area. Makes organizing games easier and such.

The Exchange

Is anything sorted yet for running the society through stores as we'd like to get something organised through the games night the store I play in runs? And that may also encourage them to run it in the other stores they run.

Dark Archive

To Mssrs. Frost and Logue,

Just wanted to know a bit more info--I have 12 players chomping at the bit to get into this. I will be dividing them up into 2 or 3 groups and running each at different times. Just curious as to how to report (would it be easier to fax in the sheets?) what the procedures are for making these games official, if there are any faux paus that I should avoid, etc.

All of my players are making characters and deciding factions tomorrow, and I have already purchased all of the scenarios. We would like to begin Society play next Thursday, but can put this on hold if necessary. I will happily await instructions on how to proceed.

Thanks!
