Liberty's Edge

I can't believe this thread isn't made yet!

Well here goes our group.

Kyle - Human Crusader and worshipper of Cayden Cailean (Bo9S) going Holy Liberator (modified to increase Bo9S progression instead of spellcasting). He's a student of Vencarlo Orisini who helped him cope with the murder of his wife by Gaedran Lamm.

Serenity - Human Cleric of Pharasma. A former Lamm's Lamb who turned to religion after hiding out in the Grey district from Lamm.

Darwin - Human Wizard (Generalist) and student of the Thaumaneux College. In his late 30s he has yet to pick any sort of specialization or direction in life, recently overcoming an addiction to Shiver.

Felin - Catfolk Rogue (eventually Rogue/Swashbuckler/Fighter/Thief-Acrobat/Tempest), a former Lamm's Lamb who escaped Lamm with his 'sister' (not biological, just another Lamb). He lives in the Shingles and wants to join the Catsdew Lofties, but can't because of his gender =p. Now he's forming up his own male version with the Lambs he rescued. He isn't very religious, but has a fondness for Calistria.

We haven't started yet and it might actually take some time till we do, but our line up so far is as follows:

Mercutio Dragonetti (LN male human fighter 1) Trait: Love Lost

Zanovia Tabuu (CG female human sorcerer 1) Trait: Missing Child

Daro Phileus Falkenauge (N male human rogue 1) Trait: Unhappy Childhood

BTW our CotCT campaign will be an Alphatest game! Perhaps the new sorcerer is released before we start, really hope so. :)

Contributor

Our game is Alphatest too. :) I'm running two characters and my husband is DMing. We like playing solo games like this from time to time.

My characters:

Dorin: A Varisian frustrated by his inability to perform innate magic, which his clan treated as a "woman's skill" anyway. Dorin ditched his clan while passing through Korvosa and made it his new home. At one time he had plans to join the Acadamae, but a frame job left him with a criminal shadow over his head. Though a local thief managed to clear his name in the eyes of the guard, the real culprit was never found and he was denied Acadamae admittance. Bitter and hot-tempered, Dorin vowed to become the best mage Golarion has ever seen, Varisian sorcery and Acadamae smugness be damned.

Despite his desire to strike out on his own and forge his own path, he found he had a knack for the kind of flashy stage-magic Varisians are known for. He now performs as a street magician for his bread while dreaming of bigger things.

"Anna": Tatiana ("Anna" to most) remembers being at the circus as a little girl and being mesmerized by the acrobats who seemed to float through the air. After the show she tried to get close enough to one of the acrobats to touch her costume, but only succeeded in getting lost in the crowd. A man found her crying and promised to help her find her parents, but Anna soon found that this man wasn't nice at all. Thus she became one of Lamm's little pickpockets.

Strong-willed and arrogant, Anna never made a very good servant. She rebelled against Lamm routinely and was routinely beaten for her defiance. One day she returned home in tears, her right hand badly mangled from a trap. Lamm broke what fingers she had left, gave her the beating of her life, and threw her out. Anna nursed herself back to health, nursing her grudge along with her hand. She was getting too big to work for Lamm anyway, and longed to strike out on her own.

She soon paired up with a wrongfully accused Varisian mage; after helping him clear his name, the two became inseperable. Anna's hand did heal, but remained twisted and ugly from the old injuries. She wears gloves constantly, though she sometimes removes the left one while working. Normally right-handed, she's also trained herself into rudimentary ambidexterity to compensate.

Anna still remembers the beauty of the acrobats and is fascinated by circuses. She imagines creating her own unique brand of thievery that combines acrobatics, dance, and stealth -- perhaps creating a style so unique and beautiful it will garner her the attention of someone famous. Dorin has promised to teach her some traditional Varisian dances to incorporate into her 'routine'.

-Amber S.

P.S. Dorin's blinding ray (his illusionist ability) + Anna's sneak attack = SUPER COMBO!

Serenity - Human Cleric of Pharasma. A former Lamm's Lamb who turned to religion after hiding out in the Grey district from Lamm.

Ack! Y'know, this thread is gonna sound awfully similar in this AP, due to the background traits...

Keyes - Elven rogue with a swashbuckler flair. a former student of Vencarlo Orisini who left for the Shingles in depair when his fellow student and lover was offed by Lamm.

Raven - Humand cleric of Pharasma. A former Lamm's Lamb who turned to religion from the cruelty of Lamm. She's also trying to find her past, as she's an amnesiac.

Eeko - A Gmone conjurer with an acid fetish. He wanted to be a member of the Academe, but his hopes were dashed when he was imprisoned for the murder of his own mother...a deed done by You-Know-The-Pud.

Margda - A Half-orc orphaned fighter. She grew up with the Lambs, but angered Gaedran when she snuck a pastry. She's the only known survivor of Gobblegut's hunger, left for dead by Lamm.

Gawd, that man's a bastard. Glad he's dead, and I'm the GM! o.O

Elaina Narvois--female half-elven bard; looking for her son, kidnapped and sold to Lamm
Old Hob--male human cleric of Calistria; once addicted to the shiver
Ash Garvey--male human fighter; framed for a murder he didn't commit
Darg--male half-orc monk; mother killed by Lamm
Quisario Egas--male gnome wizard; once a Little Lamb; left for dead, and found religion.

The Exchange

Amaryllis Nailo (Half-elven sorceress): Her fiancé has worked for Gaedren Lamm, a fact she found out after his sudden (and unexplained) disappearance)

Mika Mondbach (human samurai): His family stems from Minkai; his father was ruined by Gaedren and finally forced to pledge his Daisho; he died soon thereafter. Since then, Mika desperately seeks the I.O.U. (which was actually stolen by Gaedren).

Wren (human bard): a young varisian girl; she loves to dance at her father's migrant tavern in the Shingles (they actually live in Midlands but that's where they lived during her childhood). There's two things she doesn't know: First, her father isn't actually her father. She is the bastard of a korvosan noble who fell in love with her mother. Second, when her mother was pregnant, she was enslaved by Gaedren. When she finally escaped the korvosan noble had given up to find her.

Marcellus von Liktenborn (human hexblade): He is the eldest son of an unimportant noble family living in Abken. The Liktenborns are in fact related to House Porphyria and being the last representatives of said House, they are thinking that they should be the legitime rulers of Korvosa. This annoys Marcellus very much, cause he is mostly interested in his sword skills. So when he finds out that his old man fathered a bastard 17 years ago, he begins his search to find her. He hopes that she will replace him as heiress to the throne.

Zurizatro (human druid): He was one of Gaedren's little lambs but he was to weak to fulfil his duties. One day Gaedren lost his temper and nearly beat him to death. Luckily he was found by a priest of Gozreh and raised out of town. Now he comes back to take his revenge.

It's being played on the boards, so no secrets. Players were limited to PHB races and no psionics, but a wide selection of options otherwise.

Avalon Deepsweep, Human Fighter (with a spiked chain!), follower of Desna

Cole Pegason, Human Cleric of Iomedae, armorer

Frasides Francol, Human Ranger, hunter, follower of Erastil

Gawain Caelson, Human Favored Soul of Shelyn

Leliestratt, Elf Wizard (generalist), archivist and alchemist, follower of Desna

Simn Thistesworth, Gnome Rogue, cartographer, presently swearing by Calistria

It's a stag party, but otherwise pretty well-balanced.

Finally we have kicked off the campaign and are going to play on the weekend for the second time. Things have changed from brainstorming to table:

Daro Phileus Falkenauge (N male human rogue 1) Trait: Unhappy Childhood!

Mercutio Dragonetti (LN male human conjurer 1) Trait: Framed!

Zanovia Tabuu (CG female human fighter 1) Trait: Missing Child!

And there will be new blood to shed:

? (CG? male half-elf cleric of Cayden Calean 1)

Scarab Sages

Finally started my campaign! We're playing slightly house-ruled 3.5 rather than messing around with Alpha as one of the players is an experienced roleplayer but hasn't touched D&D before so we're trying to keep things as straightforward as possible. Unfortunately I don't have absolute precise details on anyone's backstory other than Cyrus because people suck at giving me these things in written form (I know Mara's is considerably more extensive than I've written for instance). We have:

Cyrus Zol, Human Male NG Conjuror 1, Addict(Personal Addiction): Acadamae dropout, with rather cool extensive backstory that I won't go fully into, suffice to say he sneaked out of the Acadamae on his birthday to prove to his drunken, overbearing father that he was succeeding, only to find his house burned down. He descended into drugs, was picked up from the streets by Vencarlo (yay!) whom he's still very good friends with.

Kendra Knotwright, Human Female CG Urban Ranger 1 (going into Scout), Framed(Family Honour): Young girl from an upstart noble family which is very looked down on as a result, used by her mother from a very early age as something of a social spy. The person who was framed was actually a close family friend who has been disowned and is currently living in their basement.

Marcelina "Mara" Soto-Vaira, Human Female LG Fighter, Lost Love (Orphaned): Varisian fortune-teller who was orphaned at quite an early age but stayed with her extensive Varisian "Family". Is currently working as the family Harrow reader.

Limpnottin Teamonkey Copperlatch Orebrick Seastoke Clockhand Chainchoker Leaffold Lancet Sunstep Peacock ("Teamonkey" to his friends "Sunstep" to everyone else), Gnome Male NG Favoured Soul, Unhappy Childhood(Religious): Favoured by Sarenrae for being the pluckiest gnome that ever... gnomed. Escaped Gaedren when he first manifested his divine magic, shortly after Gaedren destroyed the holy symbols and texts of Saranrae he had been stashing. Collects names in the traditional Gnome fashion, gaining at least two over the course of the first session.

Well here goes our group.

Arkimon – Human Fighter (eventually Fighter /Warmage), follower of Desna. He is a Varisian frustrated by his inability to perform innate magic, but this will change. He is in love for Faehleena.

Fahleena – Chelaxian woman Cleric of Calistria. She is noble born (dock family). Sadly, she isn’t in love for Arkimon.

Naesse - Elf woman Wizard (conjurer) and student of the Acadamea. A Forlon and a problem...

Noctumbra - Human Rogue. He lives in the Shingles. His daughter was kidnapped by Graeden Lamm, and he is looking for her.

I'm not sure this is fair as we're running a Korvosa plotline only very loosely related to CotCT anymore. Can't resist, though....

The party has a Korvosan part and a non-Korvosan part, and has had a lot of work to do to become a functional team.

Korvosans:

Lashalla Karlin (Sor 1/Rog 5)--tenth child of a minor noble House, organized the PC party as a way of carving out a niche for herself and avoiding being treated as a marriagable pawn. Currently trying to manuver a much more prestigious marriage for herself (she has ideas about Lord Arkona), while keeping her fractious group pulling together.

Dzindzi Karlin (Ran 6)--eleventh child of the same House, a bad-girl teen with a serious thing for rats. Imagine a princess-pretty girlie bedroom with a giant rat snoozing on the pillow.

Majenko (Ran 3)--purple pseudodragon rescued by Dzindzi, now serving her for a year. Impulsive and rash, like his mistress.

Adrian "Fish" Nylund (Ftr 6)--washed-out Sable Company trainee, disowned by his military family. There's a streak of hero somewhere under the drinking problem and general despair; Lashalla works hard to bring it to the fore.

Eleuthryx (Clr 6/Desna)--the gold pseudodragon given to Lashalla by her mysterious uncle. Spends most of his time being worn like a scarf by Lashalla; occasionally shows his considerable personal authority.

Non-Korvosans:

Viya (Vraxeris) (Wiz 6/Illusionist)--skinny blonde 15 year old who claims to be the clone of an ancient Thassilonian archmage. He's correct, though his memories are spotty. He's caught up in an ongoing conflict between the archmage's worldview (neither sane nor moral) and the one he's developed in his current life. The occasional glimpses of Vraxeris in action can be scary.

Rodimar (Bard 6)--Varisian wanderer who took on a younger Viya as his apprentice and has been drawn into his ambitions. The voice of caution and good sense in most situations, though attending the Royal Ball dressed as Saint Alika stands out as an exception.

Dark Archive

Just started CoCT the other night. So far the group is a trio:

Renir Human Rngr 1 - Grew up as one of Lamm's Lambs escaped to become a petty crook but now looking to live on the straight and narrow hoping to join the Sable Marines.

Teaf Human Monk 1 - Also one of Lamm's Lambs left for dead after a job gone wrong. Was taken out of the city and lived the last several years in a monastery in the country. Come back to settle some scores and see the graves of her family.

Zenobia Human Rogue 1 - Father killed by Gaedren. Grew up as a street urchin in Old Korvosa and got involved in the Cerulean Society. Looking to gain favour with the guild by eliminating Lamm and to settle her vendetta with the old man.

The first session got off to a good start as the party raided the fishery at night and aside from the monk being nearly killed by a Hookshanks who disguised himself as one of the children and got in a vicious sneak attack. The party successfully dispatched Lamm and kept Gobblegut at bay with the remains of Hookshank and Lamm. Session ended as the city erupted into chaos.

third session played in the path (most of which was spend on getting immersed in the chracters and setting) and after the first level-up the group looks as follows

"the" Balthiz - Rogue/Favoured Soul of Pharasma 1/1 - very superstitious second-story-man, had one-too-many close calls with death by falling and discovered a religious streak since. Had two younger half-siblings abused/killed by Gaeden.

Reuben Mashar- wizard 2nd - Abjurer (testing Pathfinder Alpha-III rules on him), too young and too lusty for his own good. definitely drinks too much, cares too little and ignores good advice (Wisdom of 6... ) Lamm ruined and blackmailed his cherished uncle into suicide some years ago.

Khibun - gnome druid/rogue 1/1, pretty feral, not the brightest of minds (if utterly determined), looking for some ancestral gnomic heirlooms said to be have been fenced or possessed by "Da Crocodile Man !" Basically a "killer pygmy" ...

Seigneur Oom Lamaster - Paladin of Iomedea-Aroden/Warblade 1/1 Absalonian drawn to Korvosa to investigate the fate of his mother's family, as well as ominous prophecies; has feat that allows him to multiclass with Warblade while staying a paladin (for now). Very terse, very driven, pretty tight-lipped.... probably heading for a fall or at least Gray Guard. Lamm had a hand in driving the family branch into poverty, drug abuse and shame-induced madness. Distantly related to Reuben (second cousin of a brother-in-law or someting).

Linan Eisenhoof - rogue/swordsage 1/1 local urchin, scrounger and ex-flotsam hunter, know-it-all, survivor and guttersnipe, as well as "ex-girl-of-negotiable-affection" who escaped from Lamb.
Most recent prodigy of Adam Sandsfield, Orsini's main competitior for the title of "finest fencing master". Has very personal reasons to seek a reckoning with Lamm

In a way, I am expecting casualties pretty soon... so many driven characters and quite a number of rather careless ones...

Just started today, using the Alpha playtest rules...

Mayne: Male Human (half-Shoanti) Ranger LN (wife murdered by Gaedren)
Garreth: Male Human Rogue CN (former Lamm's Lamb)
Eleshanee: Female Human Cleric of Desna CG (former Lamm's Lamb)
Yllaysa Glimmergaunt: Female Half-elf (half Varisian) Bard N (framed for murder) w/ the Harrowed feat
Isis: Female Half-elf Sorcerer with the Fiendish Bloodline

Liberty's Edge

We're playing in a slightly changed world version of this campaign. There are costmetic differences, but the plot seems to be intact. Our group is (Harrow deck cards 'cuz I don't remember the names):

Rabbit Prince: Male Human Factotum 4 -skill monkey and trouble shooter
The Joke: Male Human (or half elf?) Beguiler 3 -Mindfrak specialist and Diplomancer
The Marriage: Female Human Knight 3 -Asskicker with a crush on a certain fencing teacher
The Teamster: Male Human Fighter 3 -Gunfighter (told you it was different)
(forgot the card): Male Sylvanti (like a shifter but homebrew) Cleric 4 -Devine magic and melee

There's also a tiefling duskblade, but the player hasn't showed up for like a month now.

Dark Archive

More info on the heroes and their exploits at this link, but here's the down-and-dirty:

Caspar Mistletoe, halfling rogue infiltrator, daredevil, and budding master of disguise; former shiver addict

Khernnus, half-orc cleric of Nethys (Magic and Knowledge domains)/sorcerer (arcane bloodline); lynch mob patsy in the murder of a devotee of Shelyn actually committed by Lamm's thugs

Taync, human (Varisian/Chelish parentage) fighter wielding an earthbreaker; parents the victims of Lamm's criminal activities

Wryll Sharsan, human (Varisian) paladin of Shelyn/bard; once used as a distraction so Lamm's stealthier Lambs on "street duty" could do their thing

Another player will be joining soon, and his character is also a human Varsian, a rogue with a flair for theatrics and particular skill with a hand crossbow.

Well, as I am running RotR for one group (at my home) I have started running CotCT for another group (and two of the players, roommates, are hosting it at their apartment) and we started out with 7 players (yikes, I haven't had a group that big in a while) but now it seems to have slimmed down to a more manageable and dedicated 4 players...

Amon Circleforger; human male binder (and favoring Amon as a vestige of choice. However he has bound Naberius and Savnok as well. I think the player wishes to go Knight of the Sacred Seal.)

Orsin Magesin; human male cleric of Sarenrae (but in truth the illegitimate scion of a minor noble of House Arkona, having no idea about the truth of that House, but knowing who his father is.)

Jalren; a half-elf male rogue (and former "Lamb" of Gaedran. Very satisfying conclusion to Mr. Lamm by Jalren's hand. Didn't like the old bastich in the least. :-)

Thamior Nightbreeze; an elf male druid (and using the 'shapeshift' alternate class feature from PHB2.) Thamior's mentor was killed by Gaedran (not personally, but the old man arranged for it to happen.) And I've been hinting that Thamior's mentor has been a ghost of sorts, bound to his former student, unable to pass on until Gaedran Lamm faced justice or paid for his many crimes. And now that Gaedran is dead, Dathaniel Horizonwalker (the mentor) has not passed on, he has slipped between the void and will soon become a vestige. (The binder is eagerly researching methods to learn of this new vestige and bind him one day.)

The group is about half-way through "Edge of Anarchy." Might complete it this weekend. (Also told a couple new players might join... )

We started tonight, using the Pathfinder Alpha 3 rules.

Breven Silverblade- Half-orc Paladin of Iomedae, former drug addict, pretty dumb but freakishly strong and surprisingly easy to get along with.

Rudek- Dwarf Ranger, tortured background, Charisma 3. After killing Bloo with a quick chop of his dwarven waraxe, he threw the corpse at a fleeing Yargin. Not a good person to be around. After winning initiative in the fight with Gaedren, he took the old bastard down to -3 hp in one swing; the party then fed the body to Gobblegut.

DM NPCs (run by players in fights and mechanically, run by me in RP)

Kyra- Human Cleric of Sarenrae
Veldrin- Half-elf Rogue

Another player may join us soon, but I'm considering having the rogue go his own way to get a wizard in there; the party needs someone with smarts and some arcane ability. But I'm not sure. Maybe he'll multiclass, since he has a decent intelligence.

Funny, my party did the same thing...

Well here goes our group.

Oky the team of players I manage is composed by:

- a dwarf fighter who came in Korvosa to have a revange against Gaedren who killed his uncle,
- a halfling sorcerer, who was an unofficial bodyguard of a ship owner's daughter for who was working as a sailor (before the owner detected his natural power),
- a Korvosan rogue, who worked for Lamm and who left him years ago after have been violently beaten by this last,
-a korvosan paladin, who suspected Lamm's thug to have killed his love,
- a korvosan cleric who decided to help Korvosa from the death of Eodred.

It's a really enjoyed team, with which I like to play! Perhaps another personn would be able to come but I don't know if 6 players isn't it too?

RPG Superstar 2009 Top 16

Oddly enough, my party also threw the body to the alligator... ;)

Our second session is tonight, where we'll follow with the aftermath of vising Zellara after taking on Gaedren

The party is:

Human Fighter CG - Member of a minor Cheliaxian noble house who "escaped" with a friend to Korvosa to serve the Guard (as most of his family did) away from the devil worshipers. Was accused of murdering a Cheliaxian Investigator (framed). His friend disapeared helping him investigate the case

Elf Ranger CN - Member of the Mireani forest scouts. His fiancee was part of the Korvosa diplomatic corps. She was found dead in an alleyway. He travelled to Korvosa do find the responsible and end his life

Half-elf Sorcerer of Undeath LN - Orphan who escaped from his fosterhouse just to end up as one of Lamm`s lambs. He once beat up a man to steal something he was protecting with his life. On the man`s hands he found a holy symbol of Pharasma. Curious to why someone would protect that will his life, he used his days on the street to research. He was discovered, beaten and left for dead by Lamm. He managed to escape, when he hid in the local Pharasma temple in the Greys

Gnome Bard NG - A historian and storyteller from Cheliax. He came to Korvosa to research the Thissalonian Empire with a friend, who ended up addicted to Shiver in Eel's End. His friend was found dead with an overdose on the docks. The Gnome wants to find the people responsible, but prefers to keep a low profile about his objectives and motives.

The idea here was to mix the stories of the 4 characters with that of the AP and a few Gamemastery modules I will run, so we got Grau Soldado as the Fighters friend (who forsake him after his family was threatened by Lamm), the Elf's fiancee as jury on Hangman`s Noose, the half-elf`s mother killed by the Croaker`s living form at his birth, the gnome`s friend involved with Eel`s End and the Arkonas, etc

It is remarkable to me how well my party has opted for characters that will truly be rewarded by this AP in terms of personal engagment in the story.

I have a Cleric of Iomedae that is taking the War domain and is perfect for Serithtial. I am looking forward to how his role will develop in the final installment of the AP.

I have a Cleric of Gozreh that plans to become a Stormlord that I am going to put on the path of potentially becoming as respected as a Sun Shaman (I believe I will adapt the Totems of the Quahs to reflect facets of the same deities that the Chelaxians worship, therefore one of Gozreh's faces will be the Sun Totem). He will gain access to the Stormlord PRC via encountering the Emberstorm rather than through a strike of lightning, and his powers will be tweaked to match the fury of the Emberstorm rather than a more traditional storm. This will also give him (and hopefully by extention the rest of the PCs!) a vested interest in avoiding conflict between the Quahs and Korvosa.

I have a gambling rogue that wants to open a (honest) casino in Korvosa to rival Eel's End, and will be an absolutely perfect Blackjack (even if he is a halfling!)

And then I have a character (unique class that mixes elements of the Dread Necromancer and the Favored Soul) that will face many challenges and many rewards in Scarwall due to their unique relations he has with the Grey, Pharasma, and the Undead (this character was originally raised by Rolth who sold him to Lamm. Rolth then returned and asked Lamm to rent him, took him on a crypt raid in the Grey, and left him for dead after a ghoul paralyzed him, and a wight was moving in for the kill. Some Clerics of Pharasma saved him, but he's got a conflicted past as he's tainted by the Undead and his access to necromantic magic from Rolth's teachings yet owes everything to Pharasma.)

And I have an Elven or Half-Elven (hasn't decided yet) Wizard that I haven't actually been able to tie to the story much yet. Elves being so rare it may just be enough that he's got a link to the Mierani in South Shore and to the diplomats there to keep him engaged in Korvosa's future.

The Exchange

My group. We're using our own build of OGL with stuff from Pathfinder, BOXM, and all sorts of other sources. The idea is to get away from multiclassing and prestige classes and offer the characters the ability to swap and switch stuff to create interesting characters.

First time in a long time we've only got a 4 player party, but the group have played a lot together so it shouldn't be a problem, even though they are missing a real tank. The party do all seem to have gained some form of sneak attack from various sources so they are trying to be a lot more stealthy than previous groups they created.

Ferris - Infilitrator/Urban Ranger - essentially a ranger without spells - looking to find their missing sibling who they believe Lamm was responsible for.

Mr Stoa' - There are rumours of a t at the end of his name, but it's not been seen in a while - Gutter Mage - the Rogue of the group, though so far he's done more kicking in of doors than Ferris. Looking to get revenge for the death of Mr Hedgehog, about whom all he will say is "very carefully".

Silas Thereskus - Wizard - a magical conman who is currently walking around with a sword strapped to his back and chainmail links visible at his sleeve edges to give the impression of armour - framed and kicked out of the Acdamae.

Cosgrove - Favoured Soul of Torag - the only ex Lamb amongst the group who managed to escape Lamm and find religion.

A little background info: My playing group is interesting, in that we're playing RotRL, CotCT and SD somewhat concurrently. We just finished RotRL 1, run by my husband. I am running CotCT, and we did a teaser at our last session, introing the characters running through the Harrowing before breaking. Our third member and best friend will be running SD and will be starting up after we finish CotCT 1 ::chuckle:: We can only get together once a month due to driving distances (Los Angeles to San Deigo), so we'll be playing these three APs for a few years to come!

Now, for my party, played by my friend and my husband at two chars a piece :)

Felina Vercarne - Half-elven rogue, member of the Catspaw Lofties, and former Shiver Addict. Her family runs a "fed-ex" service in Korvosa, and she broke off with them over her addiction and her errant behavior. But she could go home again.

Bellerseus Mylonas (better known as Bell or Beller) - Half-elven ranger, member of the Sable Company, training to be a Hippogriff Rider. Was heir-apparent of the family despite his half-blood, until a younger full-blood cousin was born. Happily went into the Company as a second choice, and was engaged to marry -- until his fiancee was found murdered. He later found the ring in the pawnshop, and is working to repurchase the heirloom and find a way to legally get Lamm.

Bernadette (no known last name) - Half-elven priestess of Shelyn and former Little Lamb. "Discarded" as a child because of her half-blood, she was sold to Lamm by a crooked matron of a private orphanage. When she lifted the holy symbol of Shelyn, she kept it, until Lamm found out and beat her for it, and locked her away to be punished more later. She escaped in a manner she still doesn't understand, and made her way to the Sanctuary, where she found a new home and life.

Konrad Mandal - Human wizard/apothecary. Family runs a shop in East Shore near the College, and Konrad fulfills all the roles of an apothecary there. He's also a recent widower, and grieving father, since in his grief over loosing his wife, he neglected the needs of his six-year-old son. The boy ran away, and has been missing now for six months ... recently, Konrad has found information leading him to fear that his boy is in the hands of Gaedran Lamm!

That's the fun for now!

My goofballs/players butchered Gobblegut after killing it, and let the kids eat him. Its skull sits outside the fishery as a sign that Lamm is no more (imprisoned in the Citadel awaiting trial). Twisted!

Unfortunately, Wryll's player lost a job in the tech field due to restructuring/downsizing for the second time in a few years, and her new employer is located not in Michigan but in Texas. Her last session with us as a regular will be next week, at which point Wryll will return to the Sanctuary of Shelyn and be an NPC contact.

So, very soon the group will be:

Caspar Mistletoe, halfling rogue infiltrator, daredevil, and budding master of disguise; former shiver addict

Khernnus, half-orc cleric of Nethys (Magic and Knowledge domains)/sorcerer (arcane bloodline); lynch mob patsy in the murder of a devotee of Shelyn actually committed by Lamm's thugs

Taync, human (Varisian/Chelish parentage) fighter wielding an earthbreaker; parents the victims of Lamm's criminal activities

Jirrato, human (Varisian) bard; sister was freed from Lamm by the others and he's been accompanying them since (the character was initially a rogue, but will be reworked as a bard to better differentiate him from Caspar and take up some of the role once filled by Wryll)

Kailira, human (Sklar-Quah Shoanti) monk, using the assumed identity of a Varisian dancer named "Krina" while looking for an opportunity to regain her honor by striking down Korvosa's monarchy; many of the liberated Lambs were Shoanti from Thief Camp, and she recently joined up with the group after learning from Cressida Kroft that they are connected with the new queen

So, current Curse of the Crimson Throne roster, eh?

We're working off of Alpha3 at this point as well. It has been a very enjoyable campaign with a great degree of cooperation and positivity dominating the tenor of our sessions.

We're currently working with the core group and two or three "floaters". I rarely have to DM 6 people, in the interest of full disclosure.

I don't think my kitchen table or my sanity could handle that on a regular basis.

We just finished "Seven Days to the Grave" and are taking a break to run a conversion of PF1. I am actually getting the opportunity to play!
Without further ado:

Nicademus- Male Halfling Rogue 6, son was kidnapped by Lamm, works primarily with longspear and sling.

Mezza- Male Halfling Wizard 6(Conjuration, Familiar) -Tortured past at the hands of our old friend, of course. Battlefield control and witty one-liners are his speciality.

Mabven- Male Half-Elf (haven't seen one of those in a while) Cleric of Serenrae 6 (Sun and Fire)- Iconoclastic, disrobed cleric who continues to practice his faith independently with a (forgive me) fiery intensity.

Teela Female Dwarf Fighter 5 -Struggling with a Personal Addiction (alcohol) and a fascination with hammers, this pantsless, grappling, bull-rushing dwarf has caused many villains to reconsider their career choices. Teela is the group's "Tank"

"The Kid"- Male Human Fighter 6 -One of Lamm's hapless wards, this former urchin was enlarged to a medium creature during a fight and liked it so much he decided to become a PC. He has since become an effective weapon in the party's arsenal.

Slifford- Male Human Monk 6 -A late arrival to the group who has used his uncanny mobility to great effect in the last few boss combats.

Silver Crusade

Lets see we have,

Lets see we have

Navarre De Aragon is a Human Male Chelaxian Paladin of Iomedae. Gaedram Lamm snatched away his younger sister.

Ishtae, is a human Female Shaonti Favored Soul of Shelyn. Gaeram Lamm killed her mother. She became a street performer and dancer to support herself and younger siblings.

Maritis is a human female Varissian Sorceress. Gaedram Lamm murdered her boyfriend, and she was framed for the murder. The charges were dropped when the “fisherman” who provided false testimony against her recanted.

Zoë Swift, is a human female Chelaxian Rogue / bard. She was once one of Gaedram’s lambs. She pick pocked a Pathfinder, and was caught. The pathfinder took her to Absalom for eight years and she studied to become a bard. She has returned to even the score with Gaedram Lamm.

Vedic Shiva a human male Vudrani monk/psychic warrior. His parents own a trading dhow, which travels from Korvosa through the inner sea, to the isle of Jalmaray, and back again, trading goods and spices. His older brother tried shiver for the first time, and died of an over dose. Vedic Shiva, not interested in the life of a trader, entered an Ashram on the isle of Jalmaray, and has spent quite a few years perfecting the union of mind of body. He has returned to Korvosa because a dream has told him that this is where he will find the dealer who sold his brother the lethal dose of Shiver.

It should be interesting.

I recently finished an alternate party of pre-generated characters using the following guidelines: PHB races and classes only (UA bloodlines and class variants are an option, as are the homebrew Varisan seer variant bard and the swashbuckler variant fighter), 28 point buy, one UA Trait, and one Trait from the Player's Guide. PCs can choose to take a Flaw from UA to gain an extra feat. Names, detailed background, and additional equipment are left for the players to develop. DMs can use them as NPCs or replacement characters.

Half-orc monk (Overwhelming Attack Style from UA) 1; 16 Str, 14 Dex, 14 Con, 10 Int, 14 Wis, 6 Cha; Concentration 2, Hide 2, Intimidate 2.0, Knowledge (Religion) 2, Move Silently 2, Perform (Dance) 4; Honest (+1 Diplomacy; -1 Bluff, Sense Motive), Unhappy Childhood (Religious/Irori; CotCTPG pg. 16); Improved Grapple, Power Attack; Sling, 20 Bullets, Kama, Quarterstaff, 10 gp, 3 sp (a former Lamm's Lamb who ran away; probable multiclass to monk/cleric, possibly with a PrC if there's an appropriate one for Irori)

Halfling cleric (Abadar) 1; 10 Str, 14 Dex, 10 Con, 12 Int, 15 Wis, 14 Cha; Knowledge (Local) instead of Knowledge (Arcana) as a class skill, Nobility and Travel domains; Concentration 4, Diplomacy 2, Knowledge (Local) 4, Knowledge (Religion) 2; Drug Addict (Addicted Friend (perhaps Grau, with a slight tweak?); CotCTPG pg. 15), Easygoing (+1 Gather Information; -1 Intimidate, Sense Motive); Vulnerable (-1 AC); Negotiator, Rapid Reload (Heavy Crossbow); Scale Mail, Heavy Crossbow, 20 Bolts, Dagger, Morning Star, Cleric's Vestments, Wooden Holy Symbol, 7 gp (a cleric of Abadar who wants Lamm to face judgement regarding his effect on Korvosa's inhabitants; may take a couple levels of the justifier PrC from Pathfinder #8)

Human (Varisan) bard (Varisan seer variant) 1; 12 Str, 14 Dex, 12 Con, 14 Int, 10 Wis, 14 Cha; Spells Known (Detect Magic, Detect Poison, Guidance, Read Magic); Appraise 4, Concentration 4, Decipher Script 4, Knowledge (Arcana) 4, Knowledge (History) 4, Perform (Oratory) 4, Sense Motive 4, Use Magic Device 4; Missing Child (Nephew (possibly Eran, making Zellara this character's sister!); CotCTPG pg. 15-16), Suspicious (+1 Sense Motive; -1 Diplomacy, Intimidate); Harrowed (CotCTPG pg. 14), Scribe Scroll; Studded Leather, Light Crossbow, 20 Bolts, Bladed Scarf, 2 Daggers, 23 gp (looking for their nephew (and sister if using Zellara as a sibling))

Human (Chelish) fighter (swashbuckler variant) 1; 12 Str, 15 Dex, 12 Con, 14 Int, 10 Wis, 12 Cha; Light Armor and Buckler proficiency, 4 + Int mod skill points (add Bluff, Diplomacy, Sense Motive, and Tumble to class skills), Bonus Feats (must choose either Combat Expertise or Weapon Finesse at 1st level; remove Cleave, Great Cleave, Improved Bull Rush, Improved Sunder, and Power Attack from the list of bonus feats); Bluff 4, Climb 2, Diplomacy 4, Disable Device 2.0, Jump 2, Open Lock 2.0, Search 2.0, Tumble 4; Framed (Family Honor; CotCTPG pg. 15); Nearsighted (+1 Search, -1 Spot); Combat Expertise, Dodge, Nimble Fingers; Studded Leather, Buckler, Light Crossbow, 20 Bolts, Rapier, Dagger, Thieves' Tools, 21 gp (possibly a student of Vencarlo Orisini; almost definite multiclass as a fighter/rogue (possibly with the duellist PrC);

Spoiler:
also a great choice to become Blackjack later
)

Scratch the PrC. I'll just offer the Disciple of Irori feat I developed.

I am converting CotCT to 4th edition, so we have a slightly different group:

Alika aka Skadi - Female human rogue - Believes Lamm killed her parents. Most likely to be the next

Spoiler:
Blackjack
.

Rannos Taerune - Male Dwarf Ranger (double warhammers) - former shiver addict and long-time friend of Alika's family.

Tahutmaroo - Male Eladrin Wizard - kicked out of the Acadamae for suspicion of murder. Nephew to the Elven ambassador. Investigating corruption and foul-deeds in the Acadamea

Spoiler:
destined to confront Lorthact.

Gideon - Male dragonborn paladin of Iomedae - orphan, adopted and raised by Tahutmaroo's parents. Destined to

Spoiler:
wield Serithtial against Kazavon, as the offspring of a human and platinum (gray) dragon.

Damakos - Male tiefling warlock (feypact) - works as a guard at the Acadamae.

*(Literally has no name) - Male human cleric (Pharasma) - amnesiac with no name or history. Actually

Spoiler:
Aroden resurrected by Pharasma. She is using him to defeat the evil of Kazavon. She plans to return him to death afterwards, but he will have to undergo the Starstone test to return to godhood.

O

Scarab Sages

We just started this on Tuesday. There are only two players and the DM, we are currently using Alpha 3 but plan to convert to Beta once its available.

Party:

Kain Knight of Shelyn- CG Human Male Cleric/Paladin of Freedom 2 Gestahlt, used to be one of Gaedren's little lambs until he screwed up so bad he was beaten and left for dead in a trash pile.

Heian- CG Elven Male Fighter/Rogue 2 Gestahlt, former Shiver addict and devout follower of Cayden Cailean.

Sovereign Court

My CotCT game started yesterday.

Right now the party makeup is as follows:

Dwarf paladin of Torag: living in Old Korvosa. Makes daily trips down to the Pantheon of the Many to oversee the daily prayers at the shrine there, before returning back to the brass works there where his brother is a foreman so he can bless that day's product.

Elf sorcerer: Spoiled brat living in South Shore, mother is a tutor and lecturer at the Acadamea, youngest sister is a failing student there as well. She is striving to avoid her immanent enrollment into the Acadamea but attaining more skill as a sorcerer, but the young elf has a lot of growing to do.

Chelaxian human cleric of Abadar: young bureaucrat working at the Bank of Abadar. Striving to deal with the moral gray area the party has already entered in with their actions against Lamm.

Half-elf (half-varisian) rogue: Identical twin sister of the proprietor of bait-shop on Erodred's walk. Rather attractive, but also rather androgynous--much like her brother. Was an orphan abused by Lamm until she was found and taken in by her brother, who ultimately saved up enough from dock work to open up the infamous, rumor churning bait shop.

It's a great party, full of roleplaying skill and prudent tactics. They've already been exposed to, and are quite interested in, the risque Arkona cousins as they cavorted down in the Jade Circle.

The most enjoyable part of the first session was when the rogue, already chaffing under the Cleric's strict worldview, got him drunk and brought him back to her house inviting him in for some "fun", where she switched places with her brother, which resulted in the cleric fleeing from the the siblings abode. I don't think any of us have ever laughed so hard--the cleric included. It was priceless.

I'm planning on using the middle-path experience route, maybe even the long one, as I'd like to have the chance to explore in and around Korvosa fully and completely, to let them play around and get attached to the city before the s$$~ really goes down, so to speaak.

Can't wait till next Sunday.

The Exchange

My group have now taken to calling themselves the Raven Hawk Wing - just so they can say it really quickly and it sound like Raving Whore Queen as they've been told off once or twice by Cressida for disrespect to the Queen. So looking forward to the end of EOA when they realise who the bad guy is :)

We just started over the weekend. I made a couple of changes to character background; each character received a magic item as a result of a "chance" meeting with Black Jack. Each item tied to their background trait.

Here's my group:

Connor: Male Human, NG Cleric of Serenrae; Unhappy Childhood (Religion); Black Jack happened upon Connor, mourning the broken pieces of a holy symbol to Serenrae and gave him the hope he would need to make a change in his life: a beautiful holy symbol with powers he has only just begun to unlock.

Ayllianna: Female Tiefling, CN Evoker, Student at the Acadamae; Drug Addict (Personal Addiction); Black Jack saw something in Ayllianna that she herself did not, and to help her through a difficult time, he gave her a Ring of Sustenance. Now, without the need to worry about where her next meal would come from, and a renewed stength of body, she focused on strengthening her mind through arcane study.

Borador: Male Dwarf, LG Fighter, Korvosan Guard; Framed (Family Honor); Borador's brother killed himself after their family had been framed for poisoning the local milk supply with metallic additives. As a result, none of the family could find work, and after months of living as a beggar, he could take the degradation no longer. Black Jack seemingly knew of the false accuasations, and offered Borador something that would give him a chance at a new life: a hat of disguise. Borador was able to secure a spot in the Korvosan Guard, and with some training from Vencarlo Orisini himself, quickly rose in the ranks.

Zartok Thundercaller: Male Human Shoanti of the Skoan-Quah, CG Bard; Missing Child (Missing Granddaughter); Zartok travelled to Korvosa a year ago when his daughter reported that his granddaughter had disappeared, and her husband murdered. Though well-meaning, his age (59) left him weak and frail. An unknown human (Vencarlo Orisini) found him weak after searching too close to the truth of his granddaughter's disappearance, and led him to a family that would nurse him to health, and left him with an amulet of health that restored him to his vigorous youth.

Liberty's Edge

Update to our group:

The player for the tiefling finally showed up to a game and got killed by a lightning bolt from a certain wizard under the hospital. His charred corpse barely had time to hit the floor before a half-orc paladin came charging in to reinforce the party. Strange how that happens. :) This is one bad dude with a greatsword. Man of few words and lots of smites to hand out. Not a bad bloodpig player either.

After the plague was stopped and the queen went off the deep end, the human fighter character ran off to help the field marshal and her handful of soldiers. His replacement is a human archivist of the forge god. This is no scrawny librarian either; a real fire and brimstone preacher (literally -fire spells and summoning) with a construct graft arm.

The party has mostly crested 8th level and a few characters are nearly 9th. They're currently exploring and underground complex in the old part of town...

I guess I never posted my group to this thread.

When we started we had six PCs:

Rosedale Arkona (human aristocrat)
Anaster Carowyn (human aristocrat)
Erst Fordyce (human aristocrat)
Siolin Jeggare (human aristocrat)
Serai Leroung (human aristocrat)
Karmina Ornelos (human aristocrat)

Rosedale left town and Anaster is taking a break, but we've added Svokui Miskels (human aristocrat).

People have since multiclassed, and it's proving to be an interesting campaign. :)

Liberty's Edge

Raneiro, a human male Warlock.
Vianti, a human female cleric of Iomedae.
Johan, a human male monk.
Wyatt, a human female noble/rogue.

-DM Jeff

Hm, well, here's what I've got.

A human halfbreed druid who's wife was murdered by Lamm right after their wedding when she was in Korvosa buying supplies. The player is since struggling with a reason for his druid to actually still be involved with the adventure.

A Varisian wizard who's cousin was murdered by Lamm. He feels loyalty to the Varisians, but not Korvosa. He has also inexplicably started heavy use of Pesh and his behavior is becoming increasingly unpredictable. He carries the Harrow Deck, and Zellara is about to have some serious words with him.

A half-orc barbarian was who framed when he first came to Korvosa by Lamm. Again, there are difficulties with motivation for why he's still with the group and participating in this adventure. The player seems more interested in starting business ventures than in defending the city. When I tried to discourage people from putting too much effort into side business ventures, he got a bit bent out of shape.

A half-elf ranger who was abandoned by his unknown paretns at a Korvosan orphanage, the kidnapped by Lamm, then almost killed and left for dead. His motivations are scattered and nebulous, the character is emotionally unstable, and is likely about to manifest sorcerous abilities due to a previous unknown Fey bloodline.

A dwarf cleric of Gorum. Self-exiled from his people, seeking to challenge fate. Other motivations are somewhat nebulous.

A possibly insane elf rogue who has deliberately styled himself after Blackjack. Except he loves his spiked chain. Wishes to help those in need, has many good intentions, also has very poor judgement. majenko is currently trying to steer him in a better direction.

Our group is in London, not Korsova.

Lt. Henry Forrester -- Framed for the murder of Lady Margaret Cross Edwards, Lt. Forrester has only recently had his commission reinstated. His ordeal has led to strained relations with many of his fellow officers and left him slightly paranoid.

Major "Scotty" MacBurns -- Assigned as an aide-de-camp to Sir Charles Mortimer, this former opium addict has recovered thanks to the intervention of his cousin, the Reverend James MacBurns.

Lady Shizuko "Suzanne" Wordsworth -- The widow of the late Lord Wordsworth, this former geisha has inherited his London townhouse and a generous settlement. She has a strong supporter in Sir Bairn, which has led to her grudging acceptance into society.

Dr. Katherine Cross -- Formerly a nurse in the Napoleonic Wars, Dr. Cross is the first female surgeon recognised by Charing Cross Hospital and a member of the College of Physicians. She is also the guardian of Miss Victoria Edwards, should the missing child be found.

Dr. Xian "Charlie" Ming -- Owner of a small shop in Chinatown, Dr. Ming trafficks in traditional Oriental medicine. Thanks to the patronage of Lord Sutherford, who swears by his arthritis treatment, Dr. Ming has been visited by the servants of several well-known society members.

Mei Mei Wu Shi -- Dr. Ming's shop assistant, this young woman is also secretly a master of the deadly Crane techniques of Kung Fu.

Mr. Natasie Dementiev -- Sponsored by Sir Edward Bairn, Natasie is the first Romany admitted to the pretigious Acadamae. Still conscious of his heritage, he has not yet grown accustomed to being treated as a gentleman.

Have I killed the thread with my extreme awesomeness, or are there really no other groups posting on this board? :)

Scarab Sages

Aaron Chitward - Trained Monk from Tian Xia
Male Human, Lawful Neutral, Monk 7

Capziellys - Servant to a Crime Lord and Future Marine
Male Elf, Lawful Neutral, Scout 3/Ranger 4

Kail Oberix - Warrior Whore of Old Korvosa
Female Human, True Neutral, Swashbuckler 2/Fighter 5

Silvanus Telm - Illusionist of the Acadamae
Male Human, Neutral Good, Wizard (Illusionist) 7

Waydon Kane - Dedicated Soldier of Korvosa
Male Half-Orc (Currently reincarnated as an Elf), Lawful Neutral, Druid 7

Scarab Sages

Tyler Reeve: Cheliaxian Rogue. She works with the Arkona's. Her brother was incriminated by Gaedren Lamm.

Arrianna Gladdenstone: (Re) Gnome Sorcerer. Re lost her human lover to an over dose of shiver.

Victus Thrax: Shaonti Barbarian. Victus joined the group after defending them from a gaggle of street thugs during riots.

Jonas Soloman: Ulfan Paladin of Sheyln, hard to explain. He joined to when he felt there was a noble cause to advance beauty.

Khalid: Garundi Cleric of Sarenrae. Joined after learning they were the ones who brought Gaedren to justice.

Dair Tenderfoot: Halfling Bard. Dair joined the group to defend the downtrodden and oppressed.

I'm DMing the following 4E characters through this Adventure Path:

Liberty, a Varisian trickster rogue who spent 20 years in prison because of Gaedren Lamm.

Valance, a Forlorn elf archer who was abused by Gaedren Lamm almost 20 years ago. He took the name Valance because he liked Liberty's name.

Doniphon, an eladrin wizard and aide to Ambassador Perishial Kalissreavil. He took the name Doniphon because he liked Liberty's name.

Dayereth, an eladrin swordmage and aide to Ambassador Perishial Kalissreavil. He didn't want to take the name Stoddard. ;)

Zhaan, a Varisian priestess of Gozreh the Gozlarian [waterborn genasi].

Haras, a Shoanti who joined the Order of the Nail and sold his soul to a pit fiend named Avaxial [tiefling paladin of Asmodeus].

As chance would have it, they all stand around six feet tall and have similar physiques. With the exception of Haras (who would rather die than take off his plate armor), they all want to dress up as Blackjack to rescue Trinia Sabor from what they believe will be an execution. :)

The group has gone through some pretty big changes.

The elf and half-orc barbarian are still there, as is the cleric of Gorum. The cleric has caused problems in the group and his future is tenuous.

The Varisian wizard was bitten by a wererat, became one, murdered the half-elf ranger and has left the city with the rest of the wererats for Riddleport.

The druid has left the group for the forest.

There is now a gnome sorcerer with frizzed out blue hair who has joined the group for because of some nebulous desire to do good.

A monk from a far away farming community has joined as well, due to hearing stories of the party's heroics in Korvosa. His family bears a curse due to his great-grandfather having been bitten by a werewolf.

A fighter, a member of the Korvosan guard, has joined the group. He came across them as they were assaulting the temple of Urgathoa.

Oh, and Majenko was killed and raised by Laori. She accidently killed him, then was convinced to bring him back.

The CotCT group I have been playing in contains the following:

Sebastian Sharpe our half-elven, tap-dancing, bard. He joined our group to track down Lamm to make him pay for the death of his mother.

Ronak Rockheart our dwarven ranged ranger, and member of the Sable Company. He joined to help his friend Baercalled slay Lamm.

Penelope Baradin the human cleric of Cayden, and former Lost Lamb. Knowing that Lamm is still using small children, she has decided to track him down and stop him. Her other reasons for revenge are fairly obvious.

Baercalled Dalwann our gnome druid, illusionist, and sometimes Shiver user. He is accompanied by his giant frog Chiktikk. No one is certain exactly which is in charge. After Baercalled's near overdose he decided to find and stop Lamm, calling in his old friend Ronak. He has now retired, for his health...

Alika "Emberstorm" Fullonna my half-orc fighter duelist who, after being accused of killing Sebastian's mother, spent 3 years in prison. As Lamm set her up, she's decided his death is in order.

Andrezi Alezendora our second half-elf, and rogue, fighter, barbarian, shadowdancer. He fight's for Truth, Justice, and the Korvossan Way! After Baercalled retired the party accepted the energetic youth into the party.

Heh, we are almost at the end of the AP, smack-dab in the beginning of Crown of Fangs, but here goes:

Taran Half-Elven: Half-Elven Paladin of Iomedae and lover of Cressida Croft.

Markus Solunar: Human Inquisitor of Saranrae, has Trinia Sabor as cohort and consort.

Shohal the Bear: Human Shoanti Bear Druid, on his third animal companion by this time ( the two other bears met "grizzly" ends in Scarwall :p )

Lumlor(ean): Gnome Sorcerer of very chaotic tendencies, indeed. Still searching for his younger brother who was abducted by Gaedren Lamm and sold to the Red Mantis.

Assarion, Hand of Eternity: Elven Wizard of mighty intellect and ego, yet little force of personality and foresight. Likes to think that he holds sway over the affections of his cohort, Laori Vaus, now a redeemed Cleric of Irori.

In memoriam: Bargo Tessa: Half-Orc Rogue/Fighter, who knew very well how to bash opponents of their feet with his spiked shield, yet whose will was easily dominated. Alas, he lies buried in the Cinderlands.

FINALY, some love for Croft! We've been trying to get our bard with her for half the game! ;p

I've been running this story since last May and the group has taken very well to it, and have been enjoying it more than other modules I've ran in the past. Most notably that they're taking the time out to actually remember NPC names. We are just now getting into Escape From Old Korvosa.

Members of the Black Scale Consortium:

Apollo Fish (aka, The Crimson Cloak) - Neutral Good Swashbuckler 7
City watchman by day, masked vigilante (inspired by Blackjack) by night. The romantic tension continues to build between himself and his superior, Kroft.

Dr Vaul - Neutral Evil Dread Necromancer 7
Psychiatrist at the local asylum until its closure, Vaul makes a very serious study of fear. He remains part of the group seeking away to take advantage of the city's plight to increase his position.

Dorian Deepcrows - Neutral Bard 7
A spymaster and information specialist for the right price. Remains with the group under the reasoning that the more plights the city suffers, the more his own business will suffer.

Izek - Neutral Good Rogue 7
A dwarf, defender of the city's orphans. Still attempting to find his role within the group, but strives to restore order if only so he has a better chance at giving those kids a brighter future.

Sir Valerian Arkona - Lawful Neutral Knight 7
A strong believer in law and order, he is only peripherally aware of House Arkona's shadier dealings as he crusades to restore order to the city. (In my interpretation of the Arkonas, many of the family members are bred and raised with pro-Arkona teachings to maintain the respectable front, completely convinced of the good nature of the house. Act III should come as a huge kick in the rear for this character)

There's a couple people I work with whom I use to tell about the game, and they're quite surprised that there's no actual real moral center to the group yet still they function exceptionally well (out of a sense of love for the city rather than any conceptions of good versus evil).

Eon - Human Fighter 6
Unknowing disciple of Cayden and (surprisingly) the voice of reason in the group. Loves nothing more than his trusted earth shaker - except beer, maybe.

Lady Rayna Bethmara - Half-elf Ranger 6
Daughter of a Shiver addicted noble and the elven ambassador. Soft-hearted, she is the "secret" owner of an inn cum troubled women's refuge.

Ti'ak - Human Oracle of Life 6
The Skull Clan Shoanti tribesman throws the bones to find the shortest path. His ancestors haunt him chillingly.

Salvara "Gato" Camorr - Human Abyssal Sorcerer 6
His ancestry boils to the surface far too often. His ties to the city's low-life are fraying. Haunted by his hunger for vengeance against the Hellknights.

Pathme "Sunshine" (deceased) - Human Cleric of Sarenrae 5
The devout and diplomatic healer of the party.

Kal - Human Rogue ?
The "silent man". Vanished with Vancaskerkin's silver dagger and seemed "changed" when later encountered.

We're starting A History of Ashes tomorrow. Our team is (if memory serves):

Sharleena, CG human bard 10 (arcane duelist): Able combatant and party face. Committed to her own brand of justice (she introduced Jabbyr to the Tall Knife).

Balduran, LG human fighter 8/hellknight 2: Also committed to justice (of an entirely different brand) and to cleaning up Korvosa by any means necessary.

Shadow, NG half-orc rogue 9/shadowdancer 1: A troubled antisocial outcast kid with a penchant of talking to his own shadow.

Morrick, NG human cleric 10 of Sarenrae: All around nice guy and probably the most normal person around.

The campaign journals are posted here.
