This easter courtesy of sky comes the latest televised rendition of a Terry Pratchett novel with David Jason as Rincewind, Sean Astin as Twoflower and introducing the scariest form of baggage known... LUGGAGE!
The latest sky magazine has a feature on this thought I let you know until I can figure out how to scan the pages and get it up somewhere so sorry to anyone who assumes I'm boasting its just that the 2nd book was the first TP book I ever read so I suppose I could say I'm stoked!
Take care and all the best!
PS: The stargate movie is also out in March but its on a Monday so I can't watch it... YET.

To quote Lilith...
Last December I was scanning the channels and came across a BBC production of Hogfather. I was so shockedsurpriseddelightedPLEASED that I immediately dropped everything and sat and watched the whole thing. The weird part was that it was on the Hallmark Channel, which I never watch. Imagine my surprise when I saw that they actually captured the awesomeness of the character Death perfectly. I mean... they nailed it.
Thanks for the tip! Now I know to watch out for this!

Ian Richardson, I think I got his name right they did an extra on the piece where they explained how and why they chose certain characters and included a sequence where they showed why he was perfect for the role!
I was lucky enough to record it when they first showed it over here got a thick ear from my parents on the matter as it meant they couldn't watch sky but I still have it and watched it last night whilst fruitlessly trying to get my scanner to work...
Had to stop so I could record Torchwood but I didn't know they showed the Hogfather on Hallmark though...
The new mini-series is supposed to take the first two Discworld books Pratchett released introducing Rincewind so it should be even better than the Hogfather!

To misquote Lilith, and becuase it is slightly relevant my current character is a cleric of SQUEEK.
Wow if you ahave any more information on finding these for viewing please share.

OMFG!! The girl who played Susan was absolutely perfect! And hot!! Hogfather was very well done. And Death's explanation of the necessities of belief in lies... "show me one atom of Justice, one molecule of Mercy." It was sublime!
I can't wait for Colour of Magic. Although the Rincewind books are my least favorite, it's a lot like saying "It's my least favorite pie and ice cream." Or "my least favorite martini"...

Well...
It supposedly debuted on BBC Skynet(?) this last weekend. Any of our UK friends see it? Any good?
In other news... I was apparently completely wrong in my previous post. Hogfather wasn't shown here in the States on the Hallmark Channel, but rather some other crappy network called ION. I have checked it, and I cannot find any information on that website about Colour of Magic. Of course, I can't find any info on Hogfather on that site, either, so make of this what you will.
But here's the IMDB page for Colour of Magic.
***EDIT***
Oh yeah... and evidently the next one they're going to make is Going Postal. W00T!
A news blurb about the premier.

The colour of magic is being repeated this thursday and friday at 8pm I think on Sky one.
By the way my favourite quote is now, "I think I've had another near-Rincewind Experience".
Christopher Lee as the voice of Death unless I'm very mistaken thats Jeremy Irons as the Patrician and that is only due to a freak bit of luck I caught the episode on Monday...
Wish me luck I'm hoping to record the reshowing later on this week.
Take care and all the best!

A copy landed in my lap so I watched it over the past two nights. Great stuff! It's been a few years since I read it, but it seemed like they nailed it. It was just as good as Hogfather. I was also surprised to find that it covered the Colour of Magic and the Light Fantastic. The only part that was missing was the gods. I was a bit bummed about that, but otherwise I highly recommend!

Excellent news!
I wonder which will happen first: Will I get an opportunity to see it here in the States legitimately, or nefariously? I hope a legitimate means presents itself soon, because I'm really excited to see this!
::surreptitiously looks around for a "truck"::

Originally it may have fallen off the back of the truck, but two discs were literally thrown into my lap. How could I pass that up? ;0)
