Hey All!
I'm taking on a massive (and massively cool) project over at Wolfgang Baur's Open Design and want to get the word out.
Listen to the podcast too...my first podcast...le sigh!...I totally pimp Paizo in the podcast btw...it's awesome!
Open Design if you are not familiar with it is absolutely sex-tastic. The patrons go behind the scenes for daily sneak peeks at the adventure design process and contribute their own wants/needs/feverish desires to the design work. I also contribute design essays on some of the more interesting or challenging topics of design as related to this specific adventure too, and of course interact with everyone who signs on to make the process intensi-f!*%! At the end of the process, patrons are the ONLY ones who get the adventure.
Sign up if you're interested, and please pass the word on everywhere! I want to get a great community of people together for this project. Collaborative creation is my favorite thang!

I am in!
NICK LOGUE YOU CAN'T STOP ME, MY MONEY IS GOOD AT O.D.
(ahem)
Actually, a dark urban adventure sounds awesome. I think Curse of the Crimson Throne AND this project, as well as Hangman's Noose and Gallery of Evil are all sure signs that these sorts of adventures are really coming into fashion right now.
And that's not a bad thing. The offerings could use some variety from standard dungeon fare.
NOW MISTER LOGUE, THE BONUS QUESTION..
Is this set in Zobek?
Dum Dum Daaaa!
(Can't listen to the podcast at work)

While this is pure Awesomeness distilled down into some sort of concentrated Awesome-sauce that can be ladled generously over a fillet of Awesome...
I was really hoping that they were teaming up to combine their super-powers to topple an evil tyrant, or somesuch. Or, as the case may be, become evil tyrants.
Anyway... here's the link fixed:

I'm signing up for this one as well ! Couldn't stop me with a stick and ... well, something nasty attached to the end of it ...
I love Logue adventures ! I'm currently running my party through a slightly modified Hook Mountain Massacre and they are constantly stating how it's disturbingly fun - slightly more emphasis on the "disturbing" ;)
I keep telling them it's not me - it's the madness of Logue set loose. Though my elaborations on the Graul family's magic items (inspired in no small part by the "baby-arm" wand in the pic of Mammy) might be adding to the "ick" factor. Ever seen a party argue over just leaving Magic Treasure behind before because it's just too "wrong" ? The artificer is even worried about re-absorbing the XP lest he be "tainted".
Nick - is this adventure going to include any "sleuthing" as discussed waaaaay back in the Eberron thread re: Heroes of Intrigue on the WOTC boards by any chance ? (Still wish that was something that could actually happen)

Ha! Nice...Graul family items...those must be something special! Look forward to seeing what you bring to the design process logo!
Oh yes, there shall be sleuthing. There will be a murder mystery element to the adventure for sure, as I am very excited to discuss this kind of specialized design process with patrons.

Well you can't just have Graul brothers wandering around with standard copper disced Amulets of Natual Armor when Mammy's got so much .... raw material to work with ....
But I don't want to threadjack this too much into my own fanboy gushing 'bout Hook Mountain.
Looking forward to chillingly macabre goodness and subjecting my players to the "consequences" of Gorgon Blood .... Mwaaahahahahhahhaaa !

About 20 minutes ago I sent my $50 paypal payment to sign up for the Arabian one. Late, but better late than never. THEN ... THIS!!
Bang goes another $75. This is going to be worth every cent though (we hope).
Question: do I get an email telling me how and where to login to look at stuff?
Yes, Wolfgang will write you and ask for your LJ identity. If you don't have an LJ, they are 100% free at LiveJournal.com.
They use that system to grant access to different levels of content and discussion.
Or you could e-mail him at his name at gmail dot com.

How much is 50,000+ words in rough page length of a product? (I know it depends on fonts and ledding and all, but I have never been good at even closely estimating this.)
Does this just kick out text at the end or is this going to by a fully published product with artwork and layout already done?

It will be a fully rendered, professional product that is only open to patrons.

A 50,000 worder is about 64 pages. Twice a Gamemastery Module or thereabouts. It's a little longer than a Pathfinder adventure (just the adventure...those are about 40,000 words).
The end product is professionally laid out with kicking art work (though the quality of the art depends on how many patrons we get...the more patrons, the more change we have to throw at good artists...hopefully the art will be the same level of quality as the recent KQ issue).

If we buy the seventy-five dollar version can we have conversion notes to set it in Korvosa?

This is my third Open Desing patronage but my first one as major patron. Can't wait to see what Wolfgang and Nick will create!
Can someone explain the difference between being a minor and major patron? I'm sure lots of people would like to know and it would probably benefit Open Design.

Did I miss a bit about the levels covered? I have a nice urban campaign starting soon and slotting this in at the 8th level mark would ensure its complete in time!
And well done to Wolfgang - his OD concept has succeeded and now he has an additional author/creator on board this rather unique approach.
