Preferably for me. (I mean, they don't have time to read all of them at this point, do they? Just tell them to vote for me and it will turn out for the best.)

Turin the Mad wrote: Hopefully we'll see which submissions won how many popular votes. <grins> I may be mistaken here, but I was given the impression that not only would it be a secret ballot, but the end totals would be kept secret. In other words, all we will know is who moved on.
I don't believe we'll see which entry got how many votes, but I would love to see vote totals separated from entries.
1st- 500 votes
2nd- 400 votes
etc.
I'll have to confirm with my fellow judges and the guys who are secretly running the show here, but I believe we will just be announcing the top 16. We will not be ranking them. And we will not be showing total votes. You just get the 16 that move on.

I mean, how much would it suck to know that you were #17 and you lost by one lousy vote?
On the other hand, it would be nice to know how many votes were cast in total so that we know just how many people are voicing their opinions here.

Frankly, I'd find it quite gratifying to know that I only lost by 1 vote were I in a position to worry about it. That would mean much - depending on the context. For example, if 900 votes were cast, and I lost 24 votes as #17 but #16 got 25, I wouldn't be terribly disappointed. If I was crushed by 4:1, the disappointment would be greater, as it meant the gulf of "way to go!" votes was enormously wider.

Well then, by not revealing the specifics, you have no way of knowing if you almost got in or if you were horribly crushed into a quivering pulp by the competition. Either way, feelings are preserved.

Just as a general comment, I can say that there were 5 entries that really got a large number of votes. Then there was everyone else. But I can assure you that by using the "5 vote" method, we should be able to discretely and relevantly distinguish between the remaining entries. Its not like anyone is advancing with 25 votes, to my knowledge.

Yeah. Now is the time in the contest that induces nausea in the contestants, when the judges actually get to go home and eat a hot meal, when the moon is in the second house . . .
Well, looks like I'm pulling an all-nighter!
You're not alone. I am writing the instructions for Round 3.
