... What are you doing? Checking Paizo's website just incase Clark let "slip" a detail of one of the 32 that might resemble your item? Pretending like you're calm while your stomache has a swarm of butterflies in it? Share, share....

What are the judges doing? Sleeping (finally)? Doing their normal day's work? Looking for ways to tease/torture us? Share, share....

Chilling, getting work done, checking the boards ever 4-5 hours like I check all my message boards. Life is good. No need to sweat. :D

I have five countries to develop, and we're maybe going to buy a house soon. Also,I am pimping myself on boards and - oh yeah - have that 5.5 day, 60 hour job to attend to!

Oh, crap! I have a wife and kids! How could I have forgotten? And I still have to level my character in the evil game!

AHHHHH!

The Exchange

This is my third visit to the boards today.

I guess I'll pay it one more small visit before tomorrow comes.

The tension is a buzz. This matters as it does for so many on the boards.

I too would be interested to see what everyone else says.

Cheers

Trying to keep up with all the messages about countries. Working a bit. Feeling less and less like I'm in the top 32. I've got a gig tonight so that should help pass 3 or 4 hours. But tomorrow is going to be hell, constantly checking the site. And of course I'm in Florida so I have to wait until 3pm.

I'm having an operation tomorrow, under general anaesthetic, which ought to keep me out of action until the big reveal. Bit of an extreme way of killing time, I know, but we're eight hours ahead here in Blighty.

Hey that's a great idea. I'll just drink a couple bottles of Nyquil and by the time I wake up the winners will be posted.

Thanks.

Meh. I can afford to be fairly ambivalent, as there isn't a chance in hell my item survived the pick-apart process. Chilling with my Spite Zero browsing Ebay while my son naps.

Best wishes for a complete and quick recovery. And good luck for tomorrow's announcement....

I've not a hope in Nine Hells, so concentrating on getting work done ahead of the Xmas break.
Of course, daydreaming about what I'll do in Round Two while doing so...

Cleaning the code on the university website I run, ignoring the three grad projects due next week, jotting ideas down ides for a dialogue piece I need for my portfolio, and I have a short story pulled up that I'm thinking of sending to Dragon.

Oh, and 48 Hrs is on the background, which amuses me cause I'm trying to fix the short stories dialogue to be less graphic.

Chances? Eh, I did everything right and I like the item, but I worry that I might not have spiced up the text enough. Who really knows till tomorrow. It's one iron of many in the coals but I love all the conversation here.

Augusta, GA. So, I'm in it with ya.

just trying to get ready to kick off my new campaign this weekend, or wondering if I should give it another week of work and start it next weekend.

MMM, I want to start a new campaign. Won't happen till at least January.

Good luck with the game.

Fewer than 21 hours remaining......

Just to have fun and fret a bit--I wonder if the winners have been( will be) contacted ahead of time.

I seem to recall Erik mentioning that Vic and the team were working on how to contact them.

Time will tell.

Being reminded that the judging is tomorrow, so checking it out. ;)

Also, reading through the list and going "Hey! I know him! Hey! I know him! Oh, bugger."

Run some more Dragonlance stuff!

"If the party does not visit the elves, Draconians attack every 1d20 minutes until the party is dead."

Those old modules are really well done. ;)

. . . I am finding an excuse from grading my students last exams by trolling the boards. Of course, my logical mind suggests that since they have our emails, surely the winners have been contacted by now and therefore I should not be excited -- just happy that I will get to see 32 very fun new items tomorrow from an amazing creative pool.

The little kid in me whispers, "but you don't know that until tomorrow. . ."

Drat. Back to grading tests.

On the flipside to my previous statement, it minimizes leaks if they wait till they post to send the email notifications.

Mmm, it's like debating the proof of a negative.

Less than 8 hours now....

(if time.gov actually gives the correct pacific time)

Gah, the waiting is so frustrating...

Must hold out for the few hours left...

Liberty's Edge RPG Superstar 2008 Top 8

must go to work soon. should work till 10 EST, prob only will until 6...garm!!!! want to stare at keyboard till my eyes bleed and i finally know. hopefully all these people checking at 12 PST/1 MST/2 CST/3 EST will not flood and crash the paizo servers like what happened to WOTC with their stupid 4th Ed announcement which everyone knew was what it was anyways.

maybe by me not looking at 3 EST, i will prevent the crash...

Thanks. Well looks like I will get another week to work on it. My fiance wants me to go to the nano TGIO party Saturday. Ah well maybe I can have stuff better prepared anyway. Or most likely I will go in with almost nothing but some very sketchy ideas in my head which I will abandon and then have to pull everything from my backside like normal. *shakes head*

What are you doing?

1) Hitting "refresh" on the paizo site in the desperate hope that will create a temporal wormhole to noon pacific time.

2) Working on my country submission so in the very, very small chance I come out in the top 32 I will have made some progress and will not be as rushed.

3) Hoping my boss doesn't notice that I'm not working.

Oh, man - how did that slip under my radar? I didn't know a Device of Time Journeying already existed. That was my submission.

Oh, well - must use it to go back to the past to convince myself to submit a new submission. Hopefully, I can do this without messing up the space/time whatever thingy. If the universe explodes - I am truly sorry, but this contest means a lot - I must risk it.

Ah - success!

Heh, I'd forgotten to account for the crash scenario.

Oh, good going jerkface. Your meddling in time just got Archduke Franz Ferdinand assassinated in 1914. How are we going to clean that one up?

Scenario?!? no. Certainty, yes. I had trouble logging onto Paizo this morning. And that was 6 hours before the announcement. I'd hate to be paizo's IT guy in 3 hours 33 minutes.

Psst, Hey Vic, Gary - if you tell us who it is now, no crash! Come on...

With only 3 hours left, I'm trying to do some reading for my grad seminar in teaching of writing, crossing my fingers, and thinking that this is a lot like the Next Iron Chef -- a show that I enjoy(ed) much more than American Idol.

Well I'm just glad I can stop worrying now. I just got an e-mail that said "Since your wondrous item was so amazing we've just decided to allow you to write a module regardless of whether you win the contest or not."

Oh wait... I sent that.

I did have a dream last night that I didn't win but it was like I was in a class room environment and there was a big pile of submissions and I could see that mine wasn't in the pile. When I woke up I was like, "Oh thank god. It was just a nightmare."

I will have to live with causing World War I on my conscious for the rest of my life. However, if I am one of the top 32, then it will make my suffering a little easier.

YEA my work lets this website come in, but then I just read that the Noon time is PST not Eastern NUTS 3 more hours to find out if I have made it!!!!!! Oh well at least I can check out whats happening if I get more spare time. Good luck to everyone that entered and I plan to keep working on the other rounds even if I do not make it, BUT making it forces me to be on my toes and finish the work!

With all the talk of golden tickets and the Round 1 results soon to be posted, I thought the following words from the infallible Willy Wonka (Gene Wilder) were fitting...

"The suspense is terrible... I hope it will last."

Good luck to everyone.

2 more hours. Noon PST is 1pm Mountain, 2pm Central, and 3pm EST.

Wouldn't it be neat in the end if the final winner was a Golden Ticket pickup?
