Kickstarter minis and indie producers

Miniatures

Sovereign Court

Hi,

There seems to be an awful lot of minis in kickstarter projects, and producers appearing that I was not even aware of.

At the moment, I have backed the Reaper kickstarter, the midgard minis, and the Kingdom Death.

Are you aware of any others ?

Or other new mini publishers, while we are at it ?

There are a lot of interesting independent minis companies out there, some who are doing kickstarter, and some who aren't.

Tre Manor (previously sculpted for reaper) had an 80k kickstarter to move some of his metal minis over to plastic. I believe he'll be doing another to move the rest over soon (monday maybe?) as his other metals are pretty much sold out. Red Box and the finished kickstarter: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1103158358/red-box-games-helsvakt-horde

Cool Mini Or Not has done and is doing a bunch of kickstarters (the current one is Rivet Wars).

The dwarven adventurer kickstarter has finished, I'm looking forward to seeing those models go up in a store, I might pick up a troll. (http://stonehavenmini.blogspot.ca/).

Are you looking for new kickstarters or just a big list of alternative mini producers?

Non Kickstarter Stuff

There is a list of mini companies in this thread: http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2mc0m?Miniature-Madness#4

I'll mention some highlights here though.

Sci-Fi
Atenociti's Workshop makes cool sci fi figures, vehicles and scenery bits. I think their power armour troop looks cool:

I find Kev White's stuff from Hasslefree to be hit or miss, but he has some really excellent sculpts, and covers a huge range (fantasy, zombies, sci fi, scooby doo etc..)

Statuesque does some interesting female resistance fighter types:

Fantasy:

I'm a big fan of Tre Manor's Red Box Games, but his store is nearly sold out in anticipation of switching over to plastic. Red Box Games.

Oh, baby's crying, I'll get back to the list later..

@Robert Hawkshaw: The Stonehaven people actually have opened up their own webstore for their dwarves and troll. I got in on that and have painted almost my full set this last month. They are seriously gorgeous and the troll is INCREDIBLE!

Here is my first thread on the Reaper forums of minis I painted from them.

And here's another few that I did of them.

They are an absolute treat to paint!

Here is their webstore, if you're interested.

Dudes. I love Kickstarters for miniatures. I'm addicted to them. I go on kickstarter every day to see if there is any new projects. Ultimately I love being a part of these projects and getting amazing minis for cheap. This week I just remembered to check Indie Go Go too. Simular company to kickstarter

My Favorites:
The Dwarven Adventures kickstarter was awesome.
My absolute favorite, which I just recieved, is TENTICLES AND EYEBALLS by Dark Platapus. It friggin' rocked. Even with WotC asked him to change some scupts, he complied and came up with even cooler work.
I can not wait to get my Red Box Miniatures, his sculpts are amazing. I've been reading allot of Robert E. Howard lately... I think Tre is the Robert E. Howard of sculpting miniatures. Side note: Conan is the original dungeon diver.
Imbriran Arts kickstarter was pretty amazing too. I held off for a while because the miniatures were about $12 each. But, after a while the quality of the sculpts won me over. I ended up getting the goblins, desert set, king of ghouls and the badass blackstands orc. I have a feeling I'll do a PFS monk later this year.

Other great ones
Loud Ninja's Space Raptors was great. I got 12 raptors for $10.
Word is, Dominion of the Gods may launch again soon. I want that cyclops.
Demons & Devils was a great one.

I'm currently pledging: Super 3D Dungeon, Midgard Miniatuers, Pathfinder MMO and FATE.

Otherworld does fantasy minis with an old school vibe: http://otherworldminiatures.co.uk/shop/product-category/dungeon-monsters/pa ge/2/

Lead Adventures has some neat dwarves: http://www.lead-adventure.com/index.php?cPath=23&osCsid=971fc4cf75ba038 5ca5511175e824eb6.

And not strictly fantasy, but west wind's empire of the dead guys look cool: http://www.lead-adventure.de/index.php?topic=44907.15 (a painting thread where they are showcased).

Thanks for the link to Stonehaven's webstore!

Midgard Miniatures is a currently running project for minis to use with the Midgard Campaign setting, by Wolfgang Bauer. This one could really use some love. Also, there is a gorgeous aboleth model here!

Imbrian Arts just finished their kickstarter but you can still purchase pretty much everything from the website at:

http://www.imbrianarts.com/shop/

The quality is pretty darn high.

Linkfied the Imbrian shop

This stuff is seriously amazing. This is the project I spent the most I've spent thus far. $474 for the Complete Imbrian Package, the resin Sea Dragon w/ resin Dragon Knight, a resin Ifrit and an extra Asura + Gnoll.

Thanks recruits, yeah I definitely spent more than I should have but damn... Jody makes a damn fine sculpt of... well... everything.

yeah, Mazlith, if Dominion of the Gods did something with only the minis and a little cheaper than their last outing I would be interested. There were several fantastic sculpts in that kickstarter.

Hi,

Thanks fior the link. I love Tre Manor.
I'm looking more at alternate producers than kickstarters, but both are welcome

Sovereign Court

I have found this one, that looks interesting.
It is apparently not going to fund, but they are talking about another round :

DRAKE

The Drake figures look interesting. But I gave up on Indiegogo a while ago. Seemed they did not have as much game related stuff as Kickstarter. Guess that caused me to miss this one.

Sovereign Court

Apparently they are planning to redo it on kickstarter.

We do pre-painted plastic minis at Gifted Vision, they're called Dungeon Crawler minis.

http://www.dungeoncrawler.com/dcm/

We took a few shots at running a kickstarter, which we will try again. We'll be announcing more information in February. :)
