Pathfinder Iconics (redux)

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

Valeros, Seoni, Merisiel and Kyra--I think many of us have come to dig the new iconics. The nice art certainly help. However, there’s still some questions that I have about these characters, mainly:

What are their ages, heights and weights?

What ethnicity they? We know that Seoni is Varisian, but what are Valeros and Kyra–are they Chelaxian? What derivation of elf is Merisiel (if there are any cosmetic difference between the different elven “nationalities”/ethnicities)?

Do any of them (other than Kyra) favor any particular god(s)?

While we know that both Merisiel and Seoni have never been the “settle in one spot” sort and Merisiel is nominally from Riddleport, where were each of the iconics born and where have the called home for the last few years?

Is there any chance of persuading/bribing/torturing you guys to expand on Valeros’ bio to give as much info on him as you did with the girls?

How did each of them meet, and what sort of relationship do each of them have with each other (is there someone who can barely stand another, does one have a long standing friendship with another, etc.)?

I’d love to hear more about the characters.

In Pathfinder 3, we're expanding the character format from 1 page to 2 pages, mostly because the iconics are 7th level and, in the case of Seoni and Kyra, their spells simply outgrew the space we had. That said, the increased room lets us reveal more information about their backgrounds and all that. We don't reveal ages, heights, and weights, but we do give each of them a nice big paragraph of personality and history, AND reveal their homelands and the deities they worship. We didn't have room to reveal their ethnicities, though, mostly because that's still being worked on. Right now. This very second. By Erik.

Unless he fell asleep.

ANYway, I guess I can reveal a few more tidbits until Pathfinder 3 comes out...

VALEROS
I can't remember where we have this guy coming from off the top of my head, but he worships Cayden Cailean.

SEONI
She's Varisian, and worships Pharasma.

KYRA
She's from Qadira (which may or may not mean anything to anyone yet... I'm guessing not), and obviously worships Sarenrae.

MERISIEL
She's kind of the complicated one, since while the other three are all about 20 years old or thereabouts, Merisiel's probably close to a 100 years old. She was born in Riddleport, but she doesn't think of Riddleport as her home since, for decades, she's lived in other parts of the world, stowing away on ships whenever her current batch of friends and guardians grow too old for her tastes. She spent the majority of her life in the cosmopolitan city of Absalom, and thinks of it as her homeland. ALTERNATIVELY: She was born and grew up in Absalom, then moved on from there and eventually came to Varisia where she spent some time in Riddleport (and gained her City-Born feat there when she first became a for-real adventurer). I haven't quite figured all that out yet.

As for how they met and all that... we have our ideas but for now that's all they'll probably remain. If, some day, we do up some fiction about them, chances are pretty good that they'll be going on their own adventures and not somehow juggling Rise of the Runelords AND all those GameMastery modules at the same time.

I do have, in my mind, how their relationships with each other work. It's pretty complicated, and a little of that shows in their histories that'll be appearing in Pathfinder 3. Not a lot. They do still have their secret goals and hidden desires and lifelong dreams that aren't quite ready to be revealed all at once...

Thank you, James. I appreciate you stopping by with more facts about the iconics. I look forward to Pathfinder 3 and whatever else sheds more light on these characters. :)

While all that info is completely awesome James . . . I have to say I don't like it.

Honestly, if these guys are going to be your iconics for any and all your modules, a lot of which could be taking place in the world of Golarion at the same time . . How can the same people be handling all of these things at the same time? There's more than one version of them!

I think that, there is multiple realities of Golarion, each with a very similar valeros/seoni/kyra/meri/[insert names of 7 other iconics here]. Kinda like that old show Sliders.

So . . . in each of these infitesimal realities, one version or another of these iconics is handling each of the modules or ap's they are showcased in.

That being said . . . the Alternate history for our little rogue is not alternate at all . . . they are both 100% accurate.

Also . . . this idea allows me to continue writing my fanfiction of these iconics. My version of their history is just as valid.

Yeah, what's the story on Fan fiction? I'd like to write some myself, and would like to know if I should think of using them or making up my own PCs for the story.

How much freedom would we get, and is there the chance of getting a short story... if not pub'd in Pathfinder, than at least offical content certified for the setting?
